Coronado Springs

So.. we called the reservation line last night and she was showing nothing available for CSR! :sad2:

So right now we're booked at POR (can't EVER go wrong there!) But we'll probably call back to see if something opens up at CSR!

All this homework for nothing! With all the good things I'm hearing, I wanna check it out!

We stayed at the CSR late July. We were in Casitas 5 and was fairly close to main pool and a little further from food court. We requested Cabanas 9a or 9b on reservation but did not get. We would not want to stay in this area again however. We have 2 small kids and like to enjoy the quiet pool. Every evening, there were conventioners meeting and having loud parties at the quiet pool (beer cans everywhere, in and out of the pool). It almost seemed like their own private party going on. There were no kids in the pool at all and no room for us. We went to the cabanas pool which was a hike since the main pool was closed for a short while. This pool was not crowded at all with conventioners which was much more like it for us.

We loved the food court and main pool area for the kids. Again though, each day we were there, there were business meetings at the tables near the playground area of the main pool. So during our stay, you definitely noticed this was a convention hotel. And while my kids loved this playground area and wouldn't leave it, I sat and listened to a sales meeting most of the day. So I would say we happened to be affected by conventions during our stay since we like to feel like we are relaxed and on vacation while at the resort. We may not want to stay here again for this reason if we plan to spend alot of time at the resort.

Aside from this, the resort was gorgeous. I just wanted to share our experience for anyone interested.

I'm really surprised that there were convention meetings going on at the pool. I've never seen official convention events anywhere except inside the convention hall. When I was there during the Miracle Network Convention they had a race that actually took place at 6:00 a.m. to not bother the regular guests. Maybe things have changed.

As to the quiet pool incident, I would have immediately called the Front Desk to complain. I've seen families being asked to leave the quiet pools for being loud and obnoxious.

we leave in 24 days to stay at this resort!!! it will be our first time, and we are very excited, esp. with all the positive feedback! We requested Cabana 9b and since we booked a king bed, which I have read there are not that many, we are hoping are request is granted! :cool1:

:sad2: I called this morning... nothing available..

Maybe I won't be staying at CSR this trip afterall!

Keep trying!! On two occasions we checked and there was nothing available and then one day there was availability. :Pinkbounc I would book something else and then cancel if something comes up at CSR. This December will be our first time at CSR and I'm so excited. We did request Cabana 9b so I hope our request is granted. We also have a guaranteed non-smoking room due to athsma from my daughter and myself, so being the 9b is non-smoking, hopefully we will get our building request (fingers crossed!!).

Cabana 9a is the only smoling optional cabana. YOu can't go wrong with any of them. Have a great time!

conventions sometimes hold blocks of rooms and if they are not sold, the resort will release them to the general public. Keep trying! It truely is a gorgeous resort. I've been 9 times and have never encounter a bad experience yet (knock on wood).

The one time a convention interferred with our stay was that the resort held their own personal fireworks show at 11:00pm for one of the groups. It was great! It woke me up but I got to see another show without leaving the resort.

We just got back from our 2nd stay. We had Casitas 2 at the end of the building right by the quiet pool. It was a perfect location for us - near the gym, laundry and bus stop as well. A short and very pleasant walk to the Pepper Market and a beautiful fountain outside our door. Bus transportation could not have been better. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and we didn't share with any other resort. The one time we took a bus from the Contemporary to MGM we waited 15 minutes and then had to stop at WL also.

We had a few small convention groups there with us but none were the least bit intrusive.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This is good to hear. We are just back two days from WDW and I'm already throwing around plans for next trip. I thought Casitas 2 looked ideal (I love my laundry!), and I'm glad to see you found it convenient to everything - and that the bus service was good!

So, thanks from Marblehead!

You guys have given me hope - I will keep checking!

That's one of the reasons I would never stay at the Cont again, terrible bus service compared to CSR.

Glad you had a great trip! Welcome back!!

We stayed at CSR for the first time this August. We have been at the Grand Floridian, the camp grounds and Port Orleans in the past. WE loved it! Personally I loved the theming, especially the Ranchos where we were. We were in 6B which was close to the main pool and a quiet pool. It was also a shorter walk to the bus stop then we had at POR and the Food court didn't seem to be much further. We also were offered rides by every employee who passed us in golf cart when we were walking! My kids loved the pool! I also was happy to find the buses empty. The only night anyone had to stand was returning from evening EMH at MK. I also noticed that CSR had some of the most convenient bus stops when leaving the parks. It was the first one you arrived at when leaving the MK!!!! Big plus to me after a long day. It was also convenient to all the parks. We had left tHe room at 7:15 am one morning for the AK and were surprised when the bus driver told us it would only be a 6 minute trip. The longest trip was to the MK. The other parks were very close. This made it very convenient to return to the resort midday. ( I could post some pictures if someone tells me how) The resort is beautiful at night! Very romantic!! ::MinnieMo

After re-reading my previous post I should have pointed out that long lines for the bus when leaving the parks and standing on the buses was a very common occurance at POR! I had loved POR when I stayed it is a really nice resort but I would probaly choose CSR in the future. :sunny:

CSR has very close bus stops with one exception...MGM. They have stop #1 which is the furthest. MAde that mad dash many times after Fantasmic!

I agree, we love it. No need to go anything else anymore.

We just checked out of there this morning. We were in Cabanas 8B, a corner room, close to the car, laundry, and quiet pool. A quick walk to the food court and to the dig site. The kids loved the pool there. We all loved Pepper Market. The food we had was wonderful. I am going to miss the quesidillas and fajitas. My kids ate really well there. It is an expensive food court, but being on the meal plan, it did not matter. The kids loved it, and dh and I would stay there again. We were also close to the bus stop, but we had a car, and drove to the parks. It was a quick drive everywhere, the location was really good.

Buzz...thank you for all the advice during my planning stage.
