hey all, thanks so much for the advice earlier! ive decided to go with the coronado springs resort since its much easier on the bank account and it seems pretty nice :)

i was discussing it with my mom (shes not who im going with though, im going with my boy whose never been to disney) and she said csr is pretty far from magic kingdom. where exactly is CSR?

is it going to be confusing to get to MK? with my boy having never even been to disney and me, which i havent gone in at least 7 years, im afraid we're gonna get really lost and waste our only day there lol :confused3 how exactly do you get to MK from csr? and is it easy/quick to get back and forth?

sorry for all the questions haha but this is my first vacation im paying for completely on my own so i wanna make sure i make good choices lol ;)

Don't even consider driving from Coronodo to MK!!! We have stayed there before... it is a very convenient location.

You're much better off to catch the Disney Bus. Just walk out of your room and walk to the nearest bus stop, (usually within view). Wait there until there is a bus that is marked "Magic Kingdom". Get on... it's that simple! And free! They will take you right to the front gate! Which is MUCH closer than if you drive!

The parking for MK is at the "Transportation Center". It would take you much longer! First you drive from CSR. You park. Take a trolly from the parking lot to the Transportation Center, then you walk a ways to get to a ferry or the Monorail... then ride to MK. From the time you park it is 20 to 45 minutes to the front gate. The whole trip would take 30 min to an hour. Depending on the time of day, your timing with the transportation and how the crowds are that day.

I would never recommend that a first timer drive. It can be quite confusing... and you're right about not wanting to waste your only day wandering around.
If you take the bus... you're there in 20 minutes and having fun!!

yay that settles it then! i just booked the hotel :)

do you by chance know the address of CSR? i cant find it on disneys website :(

CSR is centrally located to Epcot, MGM and AK. It is about a 10-12 min drive to MK but you get dropped off right at the front gate. If you drive, you have to go to the TTC and then hop on the monorail.

Congratulations on your choice! You won't be disappointed! Like a previous poster said, don't drive to the parks, let someone else do it for you, you're on vacation! If there is any benefit to driving, I don't know it, the bus transportation is great, direct, and drops you off closer to the parks than driving would.

CSR's address is:
1000 W. Buena Vista Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Direct phone number: 407-939-1000 and fax 407-939-1001

I'm jealous, but have fun! :goodvibes

I second this! Coronodo is a great resort!! You'll have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

We are staying there the last week in January and have decided rather than rent a car we would take advantage of the magical express and use Disney Transportation. Do people find they have to wait long to catch a bus to the park and how often do they come through. I assume the buses are dedicate to a specific park.
Thanks for any help. this will be our 4th stay at Disney but first time using the buses.

If you prefer to drive, then drive. The roads at WDW are well marked, IMO. Some people like the buses, but DH and I are impatient people who hate waiting for buses LOL, so we always drive to the parks. We never have an issue finding our way around. Just follow signs for the Magic Kingdom and you'll be fine.

No way. If you drive you have to go to the TTC and then hop on the monorail to get to the MK. CSR is the first bus stop when leaving. Much easier

The longest we had to wait for a bus to the parks was 20 minutes, but usually more like 10...it depends on when the last bus left before you got to the bus stop. The busses that run from Coronado Springs are dedicated to a specific park, except for DTD, which also stops at TL. I can't remember which bus did BB, but in all the time we used the bus, we only ended up there once...I think it was the Animal Kingdom bus, on the way to AK, not on the way back.

Anyway, it was really great not having to share the buses with any other resort.

With Magical Express, they dropped off Pop Century first, then CS, then they were going on to AK. Took less than 10 minutes to drop everyone off at Pop, and that was about 75% of the people on the bus.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

Thanks for the great info. One more question is it possible to get to the Boardwalk by bus from CSR.

Not directly. NOt any longer, Even though some of the web site transportation wizards still show it as an option.

The bus route was stopped 3-4 years ago.

You would have to either take a bus to a park or to DTD and then transfer to the BW bus there.

I usually take a cab from the BC to CSR and it only cost me $6.00 ($10.00 with the tip) so the BW must be about the same.

So far this resort has had the best bus transportation of all the resorts we have tried!

I never drive to the MK from any on property resort. The Disney busses drop you off much closer to the MK entrance than you can get by driving your car.

I would agree that if you want to go to the Boardwalk from CSR, the easiest way is to cab it.
