Hi there-
I've read the Coronado Springs thread (which was super helpful by the way) however I am still kind of confused. We are booked in a standard room there and from what the hotel says, the cabanas are deluxe rooms. meaning no standards are available in that section. can someone please reccomend the 2nd best location at CSR? My finace has back problems and the less he can walk the better. so we are looking for something close to the main building and a bust stop that isn't the cabanas...if that makes any sense at all :flower3:

We were at CSR in June and booked a standard and they put us in the Cabanas. It was the Cabanas building next to the Ranchos section. There are some Cabanas that are closer to the main building this one was kind of a hike to the main area but right across from pool. The first Casitas buildings are close to main building 1&2 but then a hike to the pool. We were in Casitas 4 and it a bit of a walk to the pool.

Not true. I've only paid for a waterview room once in nine trips (all they had) but have stay in the cabana section seven of the nine times. There are wood views and parking lot views in some of the cabana buildings. CSR does not have preferred sections.

Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

May I say that the info you have provided on your own website has been a major reason for me booking our latest Disney vacation for 2008, which I have done in the last 5 minutes - 12 nights at CSR next August. I have not added my 'special requests' yet and 9b in the Cabanas sounds good - I don't might a bit of a walk to the pool/main building etc but what we do like is quiet (at night not TOO bothered in the day) and a lovely view - would this be best for me or is there a better choice of rooms within CSR?

Thanks!

I've never had any noise issues in any of the villages. Other than the occasional person letting there room door slam when leaving or returning, it's all good. The cabana are quiet and 9b is the perfect spot. I don't think you would have any issues there. The ranchos are also very quiet but are further back within the resort.

Buzz2001.... Another big thanks for me for all of your info.

How far ahead is recommended for faxing a room recommendation? I know the usual is a week, but wondered if this holds true at CSR.

I always follow the instructions on allearsnet.com. I think they recommend 4 days prior to your arrival.

Figure your 4 days prior to arrival this way:

Thursday - Arrival day/check-in
Wednesday - 1 day prior
Tuesday - 2 days prior
Monday - 3 days prior
Sunday - 4 days prior

I've stayed previously at the CSR (11/05) and will be again (2/08) so I am a frequent reader of posts about the CSR. It's a little game I have to guess how many posts will go by before Buzz 2001 jumps in! Thanks to Buzz who can truely answer any question there is about CSR.

I've already (through AAA) put in our request for the Cabanas. It's in a perfect shot with the central services section (the Pepper Market, etc.) and the main pool in very close.

Well...almost any question. I try my best.

Im staying at CSR for the 1st time in 9 days and am SUPER excited...

Buzz, thanks for all your help...your site and the thread here have really gotten us excited!

My question is, when I booked through Disney, the CM put on the reservation that I requested either Casitas or Cabanas. We would really like to be close to main building, more so than the pools. (we are willing to pay an increased fee, if its considered a preferred location) Should I still fax a room request?

I've always loved staying in the Cabana's section at CSR. I'll be getting my next fix in four weeks!

Requests are just that, requests. Casita 1 & 3 are close to the main building as is cabana 9b. At least you already put in a request.
