My family is about to stay at the Coronado Spring for the first time. Just as a background note on previous stays we had reservations at the Contemporary, The Polynesian, Port Orleans, and my parents stayed at Carribean Beach Resort.

What do you think is the best characteristics of the Coronado Springs Resort? I have read lots of reviews good and bad about this resort but I wanted to get some first hand accounts. When staying at the CSR what is one activity not to be missed?

thanks,

:)

Definitely make sure you spend an afternoon at the Dig Site Pool. It is wonderful! Lots of activities there. You can play water basketball or use the slide. There is also a sand volleyball court. The Jacuzzi is large and relaxing. The playground is one of the best! There is also a small indoor arcade. Siesta's serves food and alcoholic beverages. During the day you can get your refillable mug refilled at Siesta's.

My family loved this place! We loved the Dig site pool area and we liked the walk from our room to the main building where the resturaunts were. The fun of it was the star gazing. There was a man set up with a telescope and we were looking at Saturn and some other things.

The theming is nice and the quiet pool in our building was heated.
(Which was nice as most of the time we were there it was cold)

Would stay there again in a heart beat.

I have stayed at ASSp, ASMo, CBR, CSR, ad AKL. I can honestly say that this a moderate resort where you will feel like you are a at a deluxe! Crawling with amenties, gorgeous architecture, theming, landscaping... We actually had dinner at the Poly, then came "home" to CSR and didn't have that "let down" feeling of going from one level of resort to another. We came back, got into a hammock and enjoyed the beautiful night "view" of this place.

Food
They have a convenience store type area and a bakery takeout window. There are some food/bev items in the gift shop.
The Pepper market is really fun! You are seated and a waitress takes your drink order. You then get up and move around the pods making your selections. You pay after your meal at the exit. Much calmer than a regular food court with people (and kids) running back and forth. The Maya Grill has a breakfast buffet (you must do this one day!) and dinner. The main pool has a pool bar with some food choices, as well. There is a limited room service menu (also has breakfast). bottom line-you won't go hungry here.

Pool area is amazing! huge hot tub. playground. kiddie pool . arcade. long, twisty slide.

Three themed areas- I liked the ranchos best!

Most convenient location-probably Cabanas 9B.

We love CSR....in fact I think it is our favorite resort. The whole place is beautiful and it really does feel like an upgrade over the other moderates.

We loved just walking around the resort. The Casitas area is really pretty especially at night and there are so many wonderful fountains and other suprises to be found. The pool area looked great but unfortunately for us we were there in January during a freak cold spell and did not get a chance to swim. We did rent bikes and rode around the resort. That was a lot of fun and I would recommend it if you get the chance.

The CM's we met there were fantastic. I liked the setup on the Pepper Market and the food was pretty good as well. The bus service at CSR was the best we have ever had. Since there are conventions going on the busses to the parks were never full. It was nice to know that you would always have a seat after a long day at the parks.

Overall, I think that you will have a great time!

I would say that one of the things we liked the most about CSR is every night when we went back to the resort we went into the bar and had Margaritta's and nachos!

It was also a very quiet and beautiful resort.

Thanks for all the help guys. We cannot wait to go. Only one week away!!! YEAAAAA!!!!

Margaritas sounds great!! I love them!

Here's another thumbs up for CSR. I have stayed in all the moderate resorts quite a few times and my favorite is CSR. It is a beautiful resort especially at night. Walking around the lake over to the main building or sitting on the beach with El Centro in the background all lit up at night while you hear the softs sounds of the music and watch the people stroll by is beautiful.
The main pool is very nice and the hot tub is the largest on WDW property--only problem with the hot tub is at times it can be over run with kids--I hate that!! The pool bar and snack bar are very nice as are the kiddie pool, children's playarea and volley ball area.
The sit down restaurant is very good but a little more expensive than the other moderate resort sit down restaurants and so is the food court. I used to love the food court at CSR, but I must say the past 2 visits to the food court were somewhat disappointing.
I really like CSR gift shop, they have the usual vast assortment of Disney themed stuff but I have also gotten some very nice, usual items made in Mexico at this shop.
Have a great trip, you will love CSR.
