My wife and i booked a stay at CSR for Dec 1 - 7th a while ago, only to find our much later there is a cheerleader convention that weekend. We have limited options if we want to move but does anyone have any suggestions what it might be like at the resort during this type of convention?

We'll be at CSR 12/3 - 12/11. If you're thinking of POP Warner, I wouldn't worry about it. They are staying at different resorts, not CSR. They'll be in competition during most days and won't really be hitting the parks until later in the week when you'll be leaving.

What I understand is that there is a cheerleader convention staying at CSR from Dec 1 - 4th for the filimg of the Christmas parade. Just wondering what it might be like at the resort - their schedule calls for one pratice day and one filming day, then the rest of the time is free time.

Ewwww....didn't know that. Just checked room availability for several dates from 12/1 thru 12/11, though, and it looks like there are still rooms available in every category so hopefully it will not feel too crowded.

We will be at CSR 12/2 to 12/7 also. We are not changing again. We were at Pop then decided to move away from the values. We go every year during the Pop Warner Football/Cheer dates but I never stayed with cheerleaders coming in for the parade.

Wow--I didn't know about that! Now I'm really glad dh and I are doing a split stay. We are at the CSR from Nov. 27th-29th, and then moving to the Poly.
(I can't believe I'm cheating on the Coronado, LOL!)

Ewww! I didn't know that. I'll be at CSR Nov 26th-Dec 4th. I've been at CSR several times while conventions were going on and only had a problem one time (a bunch of drunk conventioneers being obnoxious in the Casitas quiet pool). However, I've been at POFQ when it was being used for overflow for the Pop Warner cheerleaders. They were absolutely horrible.:scared1: I'm not changing though. It looks like they'll only be there for three nights/four partial days. If they are tied up two full days, then that only leaves two partial days we'd have to deal with them.

For all early December Coronado guest

We will be at Coronado at this time also. I found the cheer convention on another website and was concerned. It is not Pop Warner (thank Heavens) but the NCA/NDA cheer/dance teams. They are there to film the Christmas parade. I received a pm from a nice gentleman who said he was at Coronado during this convention in 2009 and that he never even saw or heard a peep from these people at the resort. When they did see them in the parks they were a well behaved group. It made me feel much better. I googled the NCA/NDA and found some info about them on their website. I think we will all be ok and I wish everyone a wonderful Disney pre-Christmas trip. I am so excited about seeing all the parks decked out for the holidays!:santa:

Hi, everyone. We just booked the CSR for Dec 5th through the 13th. Its actually our second choice - we wanted a pirate room at CBR, but they were full up, presumably for Pop Warner... Although I have been to WDW before this is my first time staying on-site. But now that I have seen the pictures and comments here, I think we'll be even happier at CSR, especially because of the crowds.

Just switched from Pop to CSR ...
This will be our First Visit to CSR and I can't wait !!!!!

Hi everyone:
This is also our first visit to CSR. My DD (age 24) are having a mother/daughter vacation over Veteran's Day for Food and Wine Festival. In the past we have stayed at the Dolphin and have no clue as to what to request room wise. We have heard rave reviews of CSR (and thank you to everyone who has contributed to this wonderful thread). Our requests are simple- quiet room, quick walk to a bus stop, quiet pool. We are very appreciative for any help you are able to offer. We are arriving at midnight at MCO. Thanks!

We're going to be at the Poly for the first two days on our upcoming November trip and then the last three days will be at CSR--our first time. Hoping that all we hear is true!!!!!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon a few days ago. We stayed at CSR for the first time from September 24th through October 3rd. We both really enjoyed the resort. First of all, it was beautiful! We loved our room and the view. We payed for a king bed preferred and were placed in Casitas 3. Our view was amazing. We were on the bottom floor facing towards the lake. I remember waking up early the first morning and going out to watch the sunrise. It was just so breathtaking.

The CMs were very nice. Daniel who checked us in was polite and funny. It wasn't noted on the reservation that we were on our honeymoon, but when Daniel found out he went and got us some congratulatory balloons and some Happily Ever After pins. He also gave us a certificate for a free champagne toast. The maids always did a good job of cleaning our room and providing more toiletries. We only got one towel creation during our stay though, but that's okay.

We both enjoyed Pepper Market and Cafe Rix. We only ate at Pepper Market once though because we weren't at the hotel for meals much. I had the chicken quesadilla and my husband had the steak ranchero. They were both huge portions and really good. Cafe Rix had a nice selection of grab-and-go foods. We got breakfast and snacks there a few times. We didn't get to try out Maya Grill or the Rix Lounge, but some of the margaritas from Rix Lounge looked interesting and delicious.

The pool was nice. We only swam there once at night, but it was a really nice pool. I loved the scenery. The temple was so cool all lit up at night. We never had any trouble with the buses. We were close to bus stop 2. I don't recall waiting any more than 10 minutes for a bus anywhere. It was definitely good to use bus stop 2 because the buses got kind of full a few times before we made it around to bus stop 1.

This was my first time staying at a moderate. I've stayed at All Star Music before. And this was my husband's first time staying on disney property. The resort was beautiful and I've got no complaints about it. The only thing I minded was the proximity to all the parks. I think my ideal location would be the Boardwalk because Epcot and Hollywood Studios are my favorite parks. However, I would have to pay for a deluxe. I think CSR is a great resort if you want to save some money but still have beautiful scenery, good food, and friendly service.

Made our final payment today - 42 days to go - can't wait to be back! :yay:
Quick question - I can't remember if refrig. has a freezer section at the top - I'm thinking no, but wanted to check.

Got back yesterday and had a fab time! Loved the resort, we stayed in Ranchos and were really close to bus stop 3 which was perfect! Ate at the Pepper Market a few times, really impressed with the menu, also used the take out service so we could veg out in front of the tv with our dinner, which was a great way to relax. Didnt get chance to use the pool, but it looked great.

Staff were friendly and helpfull, cant wait to go back now, even if itll be a few years yet!

The Ranchos are the quietest area, and Rancho 7B is near the quiet pool and laundry. If you would rather be a bit closer to the main building, casita 4 and 5 are near the casita quiet pool and bus stop #2 (which is the first stop picked up on the way to the parks). Have a great trip!

No freezer section. The fridge will stay colder if you leave the cabinet door open. We have been able to get it cold enough to partially freeze water bottles, but I wouldn't count on the fridge to keep items frozen.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

We got back on Tues. from our 3rd stay at CSR. We arrived at about 4:00pm on 10/4. Check-in was very quick... no lines. I had requested Cabanas but we ended up in Ranchos 7B. I still prefer Cabanas but Ranchos 7B was fine. We were very close to the quiet pool, the main pool and just a short walk to bus stop 4. CSR was wonderful as usual. My DH and DS12 ended up sick on Fri. and the staff was very helpful giving us info on Urgent care. They even offered to arrange transportation, however we had a rental car so we just drove. My DH had a cold all week but ended up with an ear infection and my DS12 had strep throat. They spent all day in bed on Sat. but at least the timing was good since we had very heavy rain all day. I will say though, when you stay in the room all day it does start to seem very small.;) They were both feeling better on Sun. So we carried on as usual.

On our last day I said to my DS....next time we will probably do a non-Disney trip (Universal, WWOHP, Legoland etc.) He said "But can we still stay here because I never want to stay anywhere else". :)

We've never stayed at CSR before. This trip started counting down at 176 days. Finally, I will be arriving there in about 12 hours!! I'm so excited, I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight!!! Thanks to all who post on this board and offer a wealth of information to newcomers to CSR!! CSR, he we come!!! WOO-HOOOOO!!!!!
