I was sooooo excited when I opened the mailbox yesterday and found our ME packet!!!:yay::yay::yay: I tore it open, and saw the yellow tags with a green Mickey head that said "AK" on it, and then noted Coronado Springs below the Mickey head.

So excited to get to CSR for our first stay at this resort. Thanks to everyone for your updates, questions, and helpful hints. I've made a lot of notes (requested either Ranchos 7B or Cabanas 8A or 8B, so we'll see if we get one of those bldgs) and need to probably pour back over all of the great ideas I've gotten from this site!

I'm about 43 days out (not that I'm counting or anything:rolleyes1) and can't wait to see that envelope.:rotfl:

I've requested anywhere in the Cabanas, but would love to be in Cabanas 8A. I think it's probably the most requested building though, so may be hard to get. I was in Cabanas 9A in a wonderful corner room that faced the lake out of the front window and the quiet pool out of the side window. It was a great location too and I'd love to be in that location again too.

Have a great trip and good luck getting your room requests!

I can't believe we're 36 days away!!! I can't wait to get to CSR to explore the grounds and pool(s). My girls don't know it yet, but I added a day onto our park tickets, so instead of spending our arrival day @ DD and the resort, we're going to head to a park of their choice since we are getting in early in the day (although, I wouldn't mind a day of relaxation and swimming). I figure I'll let them choose which park to go to. Maybe we'll see which bus comes by first and head there, although AK is my least favorite park (so I think I get to overrule that one... my girls would agree). I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunity to look around the resort that evening, as I don't plan on spending a long day in the parks, since we'll have 7 full days after our arrival day.

Have a wonderful time--you will love CSR. We love Ranchos! Stayed in 6A/6B and had a beautiful view of the streambed and gardens--a beautiful walk. If we stay there again, may request Ranchos pool view. It was closed last time we were there, so it is on my to do list.

Also stayed in Casistas 1 and, without a doubt, it was very convenient to the lobby etc. Beautiful room, lovely fountains. Didn't have a chance to use the pool, as we always find ourselves in the main pool.

The pool/hot tub are the best in the mod. category imho. Great place to chill and take in the Mayan temple waterfall (look up at night and see the red light up top) Superior bus service--always reliable for us!

Love the Cafe Rix for breakfast or late night Gelato! Never tried the Pepper Market, as we just want a quick bit before we are onto the next venue. Maya Grill does not appeal to us. Tried it once though.

Have fun and let us know how you enjoyed it!:goodvibes:goodvibes

So there is a rumor out about a discount for Oct. and I'm hoping I can apply it to my reservation. Only thing is I would have to change to a room only ressie for my first day. What do you think my chances are of getting the same room? I mean I guess it's not that big of a deal we can bring our luggage down, head out for the day and pick it back up when we return for the night and head to our room but it would be nice to get there and unpack when we arrive. Does anyone know if they will tell me when I check in that I get to stay in the same room or if I have to wait until we check out for them to tell me?

We did this two years ago. We decided to come in a day early and I made a room only ressie. I asked them to "connect/link" it to my package deal the next day and I was able to stay in the same room. The only thing I had to do was go to the lobby the next morning and get new key cards with the tickets on, etc.

Katmark, what would we do without you?

You're so hopeful. I hope I am as lucky as you.

One more question. anyone know what time the front desk opens for checkout/checkin? I have a 9:30 ADR at another hotel so would need to do this by 8:00.

I did it at 7:00 a.m. because we had an 8:00 ADR at the Crystal Palace that morning. :goodvibes

I saw on here that free dining will now be available for when we have reservations. What do I have to do to get that changed on my package? Do I have to start all over with my ADR's?

When the discount becomes available, you will need to call Disney Reservations (if you booked directly with Disney) or your travel agent to see if there are rooms available that qualify for the discount during your travel dates. You will need to have the three letter discount code or a PIN code - they won't give the discount just for asking. You will need to pay rack rate to get free dining, so run the numbers both ways. Sometimes there are no discounts available at a particular resort or for a particular room type, so you might have a backup resort in mind if you really want the discount.

Your ADRs are fine - you don't need to change them.

Sorry if someone has asked this before, but you guys seem to be the CSR experts around here, so I thought I would pose my question to you. We are planning a trip for next June to WDW. We originally wanted to stay at WL, but, my Lord, there is a HUGE price difference between WL and CSR. I just don't think it's worth it. We like the look of CSR best of all the mod's, but are worried about the size of the resort and the crowd level there. Has anyone had any major problems with the transportation, pool, or dining here? I will be DH, DS's 8 & 13 and myself for a week. Thanks!

We have stayed nine times and never had an issue with crowds. We have been in April, May, early June, September and October. If there is a convention going on, you will find that the pools and buses are often empty because those poor people are in meetings while you and your family are playing. Yes, it is a large resort, but you can either pay for a preferred room (although this will put you on the other side of the lake away from the pool) or ask for a building that is rather close to all things. We have stayed in Cabanas 8A which is a two minute walk to the main pool and about a five minute walk to the main building; we've been in Casitas 4 and 5 and it takes me (age 53) five minutes to the main building and about seven minutes to the main pool. The furthest section out is the Ranchos--although close to the main pool, it is about a ten minute walk to the main building.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have...there are great people here always willing to help.

Thanks, KatMark! That is helpful info. My hubby and I went to WDW as kids, but haven't been since. So, I would say it's been about 25 years since either of us have been there. We are so excited to take our boys and want everything to be as wonderful as we can make it. I'm sure I will think of other questions before we go. Thanks again.

We Check into CSR 1 week from today! We are so excited! Requested Cabanas 8A or Casitas 4 but won't really care since we're in WDW. :cool1:

You are most welcome; that's what we are hear for. What a fun time for you --the kids first trip!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: It will be here before you know it. You've asked for two of our favorite sections. Hope you get one of them.

We'll be staying at CSR for 14 days in September:banana: and I'll need to do laundry while we're there. I know that each section has a laundry room, but can someone tell me where they are and how many they have in the Cabanas section?
Thanks.
Only 36 more days to go :cool1::banana:

We will miss you by just a week.

There is one laundry room in each section. The one in the Casitas is near the quiet pool and fitness center; the one in Cabanas is behind the quiet pool; and there is one in the Ranchos although I am not exactly sure of just where (I would assume near the quiet pool).

Thanks KatMark. Do you know how many washers and dryers they have in the Cabanas section? Also how far a walk is it to the pool bar at the dig site? I figure if I have to do laundry while on vacation I should at least be happy. :rotfl2:

I don't know the answer on how many machines (I wait and do our laundry when we get to Marco Island). It is probably a five minute walk from the laundry room to the main pool.

I did laundry in the cabanas section in 2009 and they had plenty of washers and dryers - probably 10-12 of each. It was very easy to pop a load in and then hang out by the quiet pool or on the "beach." I also had a good chat with other people doing laundry and it was fun to hear about their vacations. Laundry is more fun at Disney! :) I already have my hamper and laundry detergent ready to go for our Sept trip, but they also sell detergent and fabric softener in the laundry room. Just bring your quarters - I think it was $2.00 a load.
