Thanks KatMark. Do you know how many washers and dryers they have in the Cabanas section? Also how far a walk is it to the pool bar at the dig site? I figure if I have to do laundry while on vacation I should at least be happy. :rotfl2:

It's been a couple of years since I was in the laundry room. I want to say there are 10 washers. I think there were two rows of five of them. Then they have the same number of dryers.

what's the number to call to make a request?

You use the general number that you would use to make reservations and have them put it on your reservation. Sorry, I don't have the number because I use a TA for our trips.

We will miss you by just a week.

There is one laundry room in each section. The one in the Casitas is near the quiet pool and fitness center; the one in Cabanas is behind the quiet pool; and there is one in the Ranchos although I am not exactly sure of just where (I would assume near the quiet pool).

The one at Ranchos is next to the pool.... actually in the same little building as the pool restrooms (around the corner). The entrance to the laundry room faces building 6B. Super convenient!!!! :thumbsup2

Well guys... Guess which resort we're booking for our next trip ?

I swear we looked at everyone of them, Poly, CR, BC, WL... and while we are doing one night at WL for our Platinum Package (need to be in a deluxe for that one), we decided that booking the whole week at CSR was the way to go.

Queen beds ? Check.
Great pools ? Check.
Reliable transportation ? Check.
Good dining options ? Check.

I just need to really make sure they put us in the Ranchos this time because back in March we were in Casitas, and didn't like it as much. Too far from the Dig Site.

Has anyone here ever had a facial done at the CSR salon ? We have spa credits with our package, it would be easier to use them at CSR than at GF but I don't know if the services are as good. Any input would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks for the wonderful pictures. :goodvibes

I'd say I'm surprised, but I'm not. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I've only done a massage at the CSR and never used the salon. I would imagine it isn't so much the resort as to the person performing the task.

Thanks everyone for quick and helpful responses. This really puts my mind at ease. I really did not know what to expect from a convention resort. We will probably look to stay in the Cabana's. Beach Club has come up in several of our conversations but not sure if our little ones would benefit from the pool.

Thanks again!
Although the Beach Club's pool is fabulous, It is a nightmare with little kids! It twists and turns( where you lose sight of the kids) but is connected, almost like a tiny waterpark. There are MANY access points to and from the pool where kids can exit and end up on the Boardwalk. It is not a large open space where your 10 yo old can play while Dad holds the baby in the water. To go down the slide, you have to exit the pool area and go out onto the sidewalk. There is also a small lazy river, that is quite deep with a fairly fast current. Really it is wonderful for older kids, but you almost need one adult per younger kid at StormAlong Bay.

The Coronado opened their doors for the first time 14 years ago. Hard to believe we will be there for our tenth stay in their 14 years. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It's about time for you to be officially recognized as ambassadors for CSR! :goodvibes

Our first stay at CSR was in 1998, just after AK opened. :)

This is so true! Our last WDW visit we stayed at YC. Although SAB was fun, it was not relaxing. DH and I both had to be in the water with the kids at all times. Between the really deep lazy river(which is NOT lazy...just a deep circular area with a current-ugh), the slide that has to be accessed by LEAVING the pool area and crossing a public walkway, the fast swirling water area, and the odd upsy-downsy you have to endure going between areas of SAB, there was no way we could let our girls--who are not good swimmers--navigate or play alone. I much prefer being able to take turns with the kids in the pool and sipping some yummy adult bevs from poolside. Taking pictures and closing my eyes listening to the kids play and splash then switching spots with DH. AAhhh....that is vacation. For heavens sake, I never had ONE adult beverage the whole trip at SAB because I had to be "on" the whole time.

OK--I will stop ranting. It really is a fun place, just not relaxing.;) Very much looking forward to our first trip to CSR. That slide has my name written all over it:teeth: I will say however that I find it odd having that tiki looking statue situated like it is "peeing" into the pool. Everytime I see the pool pictures, that is always my first reaction. Anyone else think that is odd???? or am I just touched??

Just wanted to stop by and say we'll be checking in 20 days from now!! This is my 3rd stay at CSR, but it's my DH's first. This is also our first summer visit :scared:

We have 2 rooms booked - one regular and one king - and we've requested connecting rooms in either 8A or 7B. As long as we get the connecting rooms, I'll be happy!!

My 6 year old is talking non-stop about the slide at the Dig Site.

I'll have a LGMH on my purse, so if you see me, say hello!!

Here are some more vacation questions We are planning several ADRs at Epcot. Is there a faster way to get to World Showcase than walking through the park when we are just going for dinner?

What are the best resorts to visit to see Christmas decorations?

Are there special parades etc. that are must sees?

Has anyone seen the light display at Hollywood Studios and what did you think?

Thank you all so much for your help. It sure makes planning easier and more exciting when there are so many people willing to answer questions.

I agree! Last summer we rented a surrey bike and almost squashed several young children running across the boardwalk from the pool to the slide entrance. My DH was like "well, they're not looking where they're going!" Well, duh! They're about 6 years old, they can't wait to get to the slide, and the boardwalk is not a street!! It seemed like a very dangerous situation to me, I wouldn't want to be there with little ones. Can't figure out for the life of me why SAB is designed that way.

If you go to the Boardwalk or Disney Studios, you can take the boat over to EPCOT. That lets you enter near England/France inside EPCOT.

You can go to the Beach Club/Yacht Club and walk to the International Gateway entrance (it's about a 5mn walk). You can also take a boat from Hollywood Studios or any of the Epcot resorts.

What are the best resorts to visit to see Christmas decorations?

Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk are our favorites. Coronado has very nice Christmas decorations as well though not as elaborate as those I mentioned before.

Are there special parades etc. that are must sees?

All parks have holiday-themed parades during the day. Also Illuminations is slightly different during the holidays. You also have the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, and don't miss Cinderella's Castle all covered in lights, it's gorgeous!

Has anyone seen the light display at Hollywood Studios and what did you think?

Definitely something you want to see if you're around during the holidays.

Enjoy!:santa:

Has anyone seen the light display at Hollywood Studios and what did you think?

We went to the light display in November 2009 and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was amazing and my son loved the "snow." Even though it was early November (we went on the first night), it definitely put us in the holiday spirit. I highly recommend it.
