We haven't made any specific requests yet... We are on our honeymoon from 8/20 to 8/28... It doesn't matter where we are, this our first Disney vacation and we will live it up:)

hey everyone :) everyone here is so helpful so please dont get at me for the lack of on topic-ness here :) but i was just wondering, because random thoughts pop into my head, are you allowed to take your food to go if you don't finish everything for TS meals on the DDP? and can you take your desert to go if you can't eat it then and there?

but to go back to CSR related topics, i have become obsessed with disney things at this point and still have a lil over a year til i'm going. CSR just seems like such a great place and i thank everyone for the positive remarks towards the resort. when i talk to people i know about it they don't seem to really know much so its nice having such dedicated fans to the resort:cool1:

Wow! I love this thread but it is soooooo long I can't read it all - actually I can't stop reading it and I'm at work!

I'm sure it has been asked before but which building is the best for getting on the bus to the parks?

We are travelling as a group of 4 with one senior and 1 child so I would like to know we have seats on the bus as opposed to standing. Also I am planning (haven't told them yet:)) to be at the parks for rope drop every day.

Also, I keep reading that no-one wants to stay in Ranchos - why is that?

Thanks so much for all the help!:)

Castias 4 or 5 would be a good spot as it is closest to the first bus stop picked up and dropped off (Bus Stop 2)without having to pay for a preferred room. However, each section has a bus stop located next to it. Bus Stop 3 would be near the Ranchos, Bus Stop 4 by the Cabanas and Bus Stop 1 is by the main building and the last stop picked up and dropped off.

The Ranchos are not requested because they are the furthest section from the main building (where registration, food, gift shop, lounge, etc., are located). Personally, we are hoping to ge the Ranchos this trip as we've stayed everywhere else at the Coronado.

Only 66 more days for us! :cool1: I sent our building request into our TA yesterday. I am really hoping for Casitas 4 or 5. I am so excited I can barley stand it. Now just to get the rest of my group ready! DS is getting his first haircut our first day there and it cannot come soon enough! ;) My ds and I are going to spend a day at the resort while ds, sis, and bil go to Universal. We should have a great day swimming and playing at the dig site! Oh, this is going to be so much fun!! :yay:

Just read this update from Buzz's CSR websiteb(sorry i cant link it)
"UPDATE - Going forward, La Marina will remain closed."

That really stinks!!!!:scared1:
We really missed taking a bike ride around the resort!
The lake is a bit small so we never used the boats there.... but we ALWAYS rented bikes! :sad2: So when we went in May we really missed doing that.
We could have gone to Boardwalk to rent bikes/boats, but it just wasn't convinient! :sad2:

I just posted a bunch of CSR photos in the CSR photos thread on the Resorts Pics and Vids sub-board here:

All taken in December 2010 during a brief two night stay at CSR at the end of a week at AKL. Enjoy. :)

Has anyone had any luck with using the wifi at CSR who has stayed there recently? I'm just wondering if it's available in the rooms or if it's now only in the lobby or if it's even available at the resort at all. Also, has anyone used the business center for internet access? I'm not bringing a computer, just my iPhone 4 so wifi would be preferred. If I can't get on wifi I need access to a computer for email purposes. Does the business center have computers you can use?

:)

Actually, we requested Ranchos 7B for our upcoming trip because DS likes the theme of this section the most (and we are celebrating him this trip). I can see why others wouldn't like it...the Ranchos section is the most sparsely landscaped (designed to look like a dessert), but we like this. Also, as previously mentioned, it is the section furthest from the main building, but we would prefer to be closer to the main pool than the lobby...and we walk a lot anyways, we don't mind the distance. We requested 7B specifically because out of the Ranchos buildings, this one is closest to the main building and is also really close to the quiet pool and the Cabanas section bus stop. We can't wait to stay here!

just upgraded from pop for my honeymoon! I can't wait, I was absolutely amazed at how beautiful this resort was when I was resort hopping on my CP. now I get to go with my wife for her first time to this particular resort:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: It is a great place for a honeymoon if you ask me (DH and I celebrated our "25th" honeymoon here three years ago).

Do you know if someone staying at POR can obtain privileges to use the fitness facility at Coronado SPrings?

Thanks!

Thanks!

If you are not a guest at the CSR, you can still use the facility, but you have to pay something like $12.00 a day.

Last I knew (which, admittedly is last Sept) there was no WiFi available. There is a business center in the resort with access to computers, but it's also ungodly expensive (something like $10 for 30mins). And seeing that you're from Canada, I'm assuming Data Roaming charges will also be through the roof (hence the interest in the WiFi since 3/4G suits fine for email).

In other words, I got nothing.

If you're a bit tech savvy, you could look into bringing a cheap wireless router down and connecting that via the in-room wired. This would be ~$9.95 per 24 hours and if you can get it set up via phone (and whatever you know about wireless networks) should, theoretically, work.

As a note, if there is WiFi, it's likely at the same rate (at least) as the wired.

(as for me, living in the states gets me no roaming, and unlimited data + Android gets me Tethering and/or WiFi Hotspot over 4G but now I'm just rubbing salt :p)
