Hi. I'm brand new to CSR. I have stayed at 8 other WDW resorts and never felt the need to request a building/location. But CSR looks huge and intimidating!
So, how do you request a building? I have a reservation for a standard room (non-preferred) and it will be me and my two sons ages 15 and 18. Do I make a request at check-in or ahead of time?
Thank you for your help!
Gina
Hi, brand new to CSR too! The way to request a building is to call the resort one week prior to your scheduled check-in date (not any earlier; I tried) and request it over the phone. A lot of people like to fax their request as well, although I'm not sure why...![]()
which casitas building is close to the dug out and a bus stop? TIA

You can have the CM put in your room request as soon as you make your reservation. You don't need to wait until a week prior.
I made my reservation online three months ago; there was no space on the Disney's main website I saw to request a certain building. I then called about two weeks after that to request Casitas 4, and the Disney rep on the phone said I had to wait until a week prior to call CSR to put in a room request. They did tell me wrong on the phone?

I have always put requests on the reservation and find that the room assigned before arrival does not match the request. However, when I ask at check-in my request has always been met.
So how did you make that happen? After the room has been assigned but before you arrive, you call again to request a room? Or am I reading your post wrong? Sorry for all these questions...
Central Reservations can add a request to your reservation at any time up to 5 days before your trip I think it is. The person you talked to on the phone was mistaken. I have always put requests on the reservation and find that the room assigned before arrival does not match the request. However, when I ask at check-in my request has always been met.
A HUGE thank you to Lidian and Lifelong Dreamer for the reviews and the awesome pictures
I keep telling DH that I hope the flowers are in bloom while we are there, I can't wait to see them in person.
This time next week I'll be there![]()
We stayed at CSR in 2007 and would stay there again. It is a beautiful and calming resort, isn't it?We just got back from CSR. We checked out Friday (to move off-site). Here's my thoughts:
5/22 - 5/27
We loved CSR, it was stunning - and quiet! We never waited more than roughly 20 minutes for a bus (at Bus Stop 2). We were confused one day, as we saw many AK buses before we ever saw a bus to another park. It was nearing the 20 minute mark when we finally saw an MK bus (and before it, 2 for EP and 2 for DTD, but still none for DHS). One day, we practically had the bus to ourselves (we shared with one other family).
Would we stay here again? Sure! The place was quiet, walks weren't bad at all, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfy (and Queens!). We'd be happy to visit again one day!
The only downside we experienced was the Mousekeepers weren't very playful. In the past, we'd come back to a towel animal or the kids lovies placed around the room (like they were partying or something). Neither ever happened during our stay, but really, it was just an "awww" when we'd walk in. It was definitely not a "con" or a "negative" and would NOT affect our trip.We had just grown used to it over the past two years, and the kids never noticed.

Our mousekeeper at WLR also was not creative with towel animals or anything. We came home to a towel animal one day, and that same day Katie's pets were on both beds, but after that, they were just placed nicely. Maybe its a difference in the time of year and the crowd level at the resort? This was our first "in season" stay -- we did January twice before.
The place was absolutely stunning! I confess, I was really upset about going to CSR over POFQ at first, but thanks to this thread and reassurance from others, I did love it!
In previous years, the first thing we always saw when we walked in was a towel Mickey. So it was a bit sad to not see it this year. And we always had a towel animal somewhere in the room ... window or on the night stand holding the pen. It wasn't a big deal, but it was something that set the Disney resorts apart from a regular hotel.
Last year, the Mousekeeper was very playful with the kids lovies. It did spoil us. We came back and one was hanging from the wheel on the pirate bed, another was in "time out", the TV would be on, they'd hold bottles of water. It was lots of fun. We didn't get towel animals every day, but we got them most days.
Maybe its a convention thing? They don't know who's there for Disney-fun vs who's there for a convention?Granted, it should have been obvious with all the kids lovies that we were there to see the Mouse. But again, it wasn't anything to make or break a stay and we had a blast.
