Thank you so much, KatMark for this wonderful thread! My DH and I have chosen CSR for our 25th anniversary trip which will be late April/Early May 2012. We thought about going deluxe, but really can't justify the price.

We were thinking about paying extra for a preferred room. I looked through your posts on the first page, but I don't see where you mention what buildings are considered "preferred".

Also, are there preferred rooms for both king and queen bed rooms?

Thanks!

Welcome; DH and I spent our 25th anniversary celebration at the CSR and we were quite happy (DH offered me the Poly, but I am just as happy at CSR and I get my hot tub too!).

Preferred rooms are Casitas 1, 2 and 3. There are both king and queen rooms in all three buildings.

And thanks for bringing this to my attention. I need to go and adjust somewhere about the preferred locatioins.

Thanks for replying:thumbsup2 I am OK with her food taking longer. It is pretty much standard with the waiting but is worth it to ensure her safety. At TS I always get her squared away with the chef before anything else as it always takes longer. It also helps to rbing a toy or crayons/paper to keep her occupied just in case it is extra long.

Hmm...wonder if mousekeeping has any extra tables to set up a microwave....At deluxes it usually isn't a big deal cuz they have the extra wheeled table under the writing desk. DDs use the table for drawing and eating bfst and snacks quite a bit. Will have to think more on this one.

Do they have a microwave at PM, Cafe Rix, or both?

I guess you could put the microwave on one of the 2 ottomans? They were pretty heavy and sturdy.

I did not look for a microwave at either place and don't remember seeing one.

Have you contacted anyone about the special dietary concerns? My son's food allergies have been getting better, but when they were at their worst, I use to have a contact who would arrange for the chefs to either call me, or give me numbers to call them to arrange our dining.

We are at the Animal Kingdom the nights of the 23rd and 24th, and then we move to the CSR on the 25th and depart on the 29th. Perhaps we can meet up at the pool or something?

That would be great! It would be awesome to meet the funniest and most knowledgeable gal of the CSR family!! :goodvibes

I haven't contacted anyone yet about this trip. I have several TS ressies and have all those noted re allergies. I plan on contacting Palmas Services(sp?) directly re all of the resort food service locations. I plan on asking for procedures as well as possibly a preliminary list of safe foods or possible special orders. I will wait until we are closer...maybe in late August. By then I will know for sure if the trip is a go or if we will have to postpone until June 2012. My biggest concern is going to be the hamburger/hot dog buns, pizza crust, and pasta. If needed, I am fully prepared to smuggle in some buns......:rotfl2:

We plan to be at the Dig Site Pool on Sunday and Monday, September 25 and 26, around 2:00 p.m. for a couple of hours if one of those times works for you. Otherwise, I can let you know our "touring schedule" after I change it for the last time (I've typed it in my PTR and it has already changed twice since then) and maybe we'll be at the same park and can say hello.

I am in the planning stages of our next trip to celebrate my graduation from nursing school. My kids will be 11 and 2, do you think CSR would be a resort that both children would enjoy equally?

That's in a little over a week! :woohoo::woohoo: Hope you enjoy it.

Yes. I'm excited. We will make the best of it even though its a short trip.

See you there!

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Oh yeah! I'm doing the Single Digit Dance today! 9 Days! :dance3:

Yea, using the last of our FL resident wild pass. We have 2 days left on it. We stayed at POFQ and our focus was more on the parks. I think we'll put more emphasis to enjoy the resort(CSR) this time...

I'll say that I think your 11-yr-old will really enjoy the resort. The pool is huge, with a terrific slide. As for the 2-yr-old, there's a shallow pool with fountains that he will probably enjoy, and a pretty cool playground. At that age, my kids were just excited to be staying in a hotel room - everything else was just gravy! :rotfl: You will want to have your own stroller for the trip so you can use it at the resort, because the distances can be pretty long for small legs, plus you just make better time.

Well we returned Monday night from our first stay at CSR and honestly, I probably wouldn't go back. The resort itself was beautiful but just a bit too big for us. We stayed at Carribean Beach last year and really liked it even though it was large...CSR, not so much. We were in Castitas 4 which was great because we were at the PM more often than at the large pool, dig site etc. The room was great...no complaints there except I would prefer 2 sinks but not a huge deal.

We ate at Pepper Market quite a few times and while the food was great, the service SUCKED! Every time we went to order, we had to ask for someone to help us at the grill station. I also didn't like that they only had fountain cups and no water bottles. We had the refillable mugs (QSDP) so I would have liked the option to get water for the next day with out meals and drink out of our mugs for free.

The beds were GREAT!...my snoring son and husband unfortunately made it difficult to get a good night's sleep but at least it wasn't the resorts fault!

Next time I think we will stay in a value resort since we seem to spend more time at the parks than we do the resort and just pay the difference for the fridge (one of our necessities of the room).

Also, when we walked around, we noticed the Cabanas pool was not closed while we were there even though it was scheduled to be. I had originally asked for a room in the cabanas even though we thought the pool was closed but fortunately our request was not granted because I ended up liking the location of Castitas 4 better.

Sorry you had a disappointing experience. We LOVED CSR last month and would gladly go back again.

The service at Pepper Market was questionable, but I wanted to point out that when we were there (again, last month) we had refillable mugs and our server offered to bring us bottles of water to take with us to fulfill our dining plan credits for the meal, and then refilled our mugs for us for the meal for free. So they do have bottled water and that should have been offered to you. I mention this so if anyone else reads this they'll be aware and ask for it if it's not offered!

Absolutely! We were just there with 3 kids - 10, 7 and 2 and everyone was happy. The pool is fantastic and the little kids' splash pool with the fountains will be a big hit with your littlest one. Plus, its near where the jaguar slide bottoms out into the big pool, so it's easy to sit and see both areas if you've got a kid in each pool.

Have fun!

Thanks Kathy! I am sooooo excited!!!!!!

Why haven't you finished packing yet? :lmao::rotfl2: I started over a week ago. :p

I know....I know! We have just been so busy with baseball and the end of school year. I just have not had a chance to get started! I WILL do it this weekend!!;)

Just jumping in to say....I'll arrive at CSR in about twelve hours!! I can't believe this trip is finally here! Thank you all on this thread- especially KatMark, of course- for all the GREAT information :thumbsup2

Have a safe journey and a magical vacation. :goodvibes

I am at the CSR right now and today we went to the dig site pool for the first time. There was a massive amount of teenagers in the pool.

I was just wondering if anyone knows why that is? If there is a some kind of teenager convention going on at the hotel this weekend.

They were so loud that the lifeguard threw them all out of the pool and they started booing, I guess some people complained about the noise they were making. I thought usually when there is a massive amount of kids they go to allstar resorts. I hope it isn't like this all weekend long.

This is my first time at this resort and it is beautiful. I love the land scaping and the room is very comfortable. Everyone on the boards was right the beds are very comfortable

These are the two conventions for the upcoming week that I have listed (now there could be others that I am unaware of, or it could be that one of the local high schools rented the convention center room for a prom?).

May 15 - 18, NCRA Annual Meeting
May 18 - 20, 2011 Summit for Emerging Executives

I hope it doesn't continue your whole trip either. However, it looks as if the lifeguards took care of it after some complaints. So if you are being bothered, talk to someone in authority.

Glad you find the beds comfy. :)

we just booked CSR for our trip in October and im wondering what the selection is like for breakfast? Do we have to eat at (I think it's pepper market where you pay gratuity for the CS meal) or is there a place we can grab some breaky and sit outside to eat?

Just jumping in to squeal!:cool1: Just booked a surprise 3 day vacation for this coming up weekend(Star Wars wooohooo!) for our DS4! I have only ever stayed at values and have always wanted to stay at Coronado! I'm super excited, we'll be needing those comfy beds after battling sith & storm troopers all day!
