lovethattink : I read your trip report to CSR (very fun:goodvibes) and saw you had a microwave in the room. Where did mousekeeping set it up? On the desk or did they bring in an extra stand to set it up? If they put it on the desk, did it still leave plenty of room on the desk or did it take up the whole space? We will also be requesting a microwave as DD10 has some severe food allergies and we always do breakfast and some microwave mac-n-cheese in the room for her a few times since WDW can't seem to serve any DECENT egg free mac-n-cheese. That frozen stuff from Amy's is brutal. Cardboard would taste better.....

I am a little concerned about the Pepper Market's handling of food allergies and would love any extra info you could provide. DD is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and now...soy! ugh. Does one chef help you with all stations or does each station have its own chef that I would need to confer re her allergies?

THX

Does it really make a difference to fax in a room request? Do they really honor the fax?? Our reservations have waterview and now we are concerned it would be of a pool and not the lake. View is less important then location but there was no place to request area. I guess we were spoiled last year when we had a room in the Cabanas.

So do we fax or just wait for check in on Sunday??

No, it no longer does. The CSR used to pay attention to faxes, even after most of the other resorts stopped. However, now that the computer assigns the room, it is a waste of time. Hence, we always tell people to have their request on their reservation. A waterview can be a quiet pool, the lake or one of the fountains in the Casitas.

Well we returned Monday night from our first stay at CSR and honestly, I probably wouldn't go back. The resort itself was beautiful but just a bit too big for us. We stayed at Carribean Beach last year and really liked it even though it was large...CSR, not so much. We were in Castitas 4 which was great because we were at the PM more often than at the large pool, dig site etc. The room was great...no complaints there except I would prefer 2 sinks but not a huge deal.

We ate at Pepper Market quite a few times and while the food was great, the service SUCKED! Every time we went to order, we had to ask for someone to help us at the grill station. I also didn't like that they only had fountain cups and no water bottles. We had the refillable mugs (QSDP) so I would have liked the option to get water for the next day with out meals and drink out of our mugs for free.

The beds were GREAT!...my snoring son and husband unfortunately made it difficult to get a good night's sleep but at least it wasn't the resorts fault!

Next time I think we will stay in a value resort since we seem to spend more time at the parks than we do the resort and just pay the difference for the fridge (one of our necessities of the room).

Also, when we walked around, we noticed the Cabanas pool was not closed while we were there even though it was scheduled to be. I had originally asked for a room in the cabanas even though we thought the pool was closed but fortunately our request was not granted because I ended up liking the location of Castitas 4 better.

Thanks for reporting back. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the CSR, but glad you gave it a try. We've done a value and didn't like it at all; but that is what is so great about Disney...there is a choice for everyone.

As for the Cabanas pool, they may have finished sooner than expected (this does happen). But I'm glad you ended up liking Casitas 4's location (it is our favorite area).

Kathy, when is your September trip? We leave September 24th (Our 12th wedding anniversary!!!) and return home Oct. 1st.

When we went to the Pepper Market last year, we would just ask our server to send the chef over to talk to him/her about our DD's allergies. She has celiac and needs to be on a gluten free diet. The chef would always prepare the food himself and bring it to her at the table. DD felt very special all week long! Hope all goes well for your DD.

booked CSR for weekend of may 21st. super excited about CSR. only other mod i've stayed at was POFQ in march. DGF and i loved it so i'm hoping we'll have some time to walk the grounds and enjoy the resort.

We are at the Animal Kingdom the nights of the 23rd and 24th, and then we move to the CSR on the 25th and depart on the 29th. Perhaps we can meet up at the pool or something?

That's in a little over a week! :woohoo::woohoo: Hope you enjoy it.

We returned Sat. and I totally agree about the PM service!! We experienced the same frustration.....it was like they didn't know they were supposed to be waiting on people or something.... VERY AGGRAVATING!!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my TR! Mousekeeping set it up on the desk. It took up about half of the desk space.

The Pepper Market, like all counter service restaurants, has a notebook of each dish and the ingredients in it. Where things get tricky with food allergies are the contracted food. They can't make any promises about allergens in the contracted foods, and they suggest not eating the contracted foods. When you first enter the Pepper Market make sure you mention the food allergies to the person at the stand there. Ask them to explain to you how accomodating food allergies works there. Sometimes you will find different chefs handle things differently. Each time you go to a restaurant be sure to mention the allergy.

It takes quite a bit longer at the CS restaurants to get the food made special. For example, we discovered at Pop century that they use the butter from the green beans in preparing the orzo noodles at Everything Pop. So they had to prepare my son's orzo from scratch since he is allergic to legumes. He's already had to wait up to 30 minutes for food made special. We found eating at off times usually works better for both us and the chefs.

:goodvibesThanks a bunch for your reply! Glad to hear you had a good experience with Pepper Market. I will definitely ask for the chef each visit just as we do in TS places around the world.

Thanks for replying:thumbsup2 I am OK with her food taking longer. It is pretty much standard with the waiting but is worth it to ensure her safety. At TS I always get her squared away with the chef before anything else as it always takes longer. It also helps to rbing a toy or crayons/paper to keep her occupied just in case it is extra long.

Hmm...wonder if mousekeeping has any extra tables to set up a microwave....At deluxes it usually isn't a big deal cuz they have the extra wheeled table under the writing desk. DDs use the table for drawing and eating bfst and snacks quite a bit. Will have to think more on this one.

Do they have a microwave at PM, Cafe Rix, or both?

10 days!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

I just finished online check-in.

Now to wait for the next 10 days to pass by!

I can't wait to see how stunning this resort is! :goodvibes

How exciting!! We are going in 15 days and I can't wait!!

Thank you so much, KatMark for this wonderful thread! My DH and I have chosen CSR for our 25th anniversary trip which will be late April/Early May 2012. We thought about going deluxe, but really can't justify the price.

We were thinking about paying extra for a preferred room. I looked through your posts on the first page, but I don't see where you mention what buildings are considered "preferred".

Also, are there preferred rooms for both king and queen bed rooms?

Thanks!
