CSR is a WONDERFUL place to stay. Just looking at those pictures brought back memories of staying there. Wonderful advice & information btw. princess:

:yay::yay::yay:

Got my package docs today! 36 days from today - 5 weeks from tomorrow - we'll be pulling into CSR!

I love getting those package docs - it makes it feel that much more real!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: So happy for you Claire.

Thanks, Kathy. It was a nice pick-me-up for the week. I know you'll understand when I say that my mom has been in the hospital for 5+ weeks after open-heart surgery last month. She's been up and down and had some struggles this week. I'm clinging to that Disney trip to keep me from going over the edge and breaking down.

Claire, I'm so sorry. You are right...I understand how difficult that is. I hope she is feeling much better soon.

That means mine is just around the corner. Maybe my TA will call middle of next week!:banana::banana:

I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom. Your family will be in my thoughts. Sending :goodvibes your way!

We use a lot of night lights too.... and I will be bringing a couple with us.
We have left the bathroom light on with the door just a-jar, but it is still so bright it's so annoying. When I lay in bed I can see the bright light through the cracks in the door.....
We are used to a dim light down near the floor. We just need enough to see that we don't trip on anything. and I don't want it shining in my eyes when trying to get to sleep.

I'm not a night light person but what about glow sticks. If you use them at night you can place them anywhere inthe room, you can buy them at a dollar store and when you leave Disney you won't have to stuff anything in your luggage.

Now that's a clever idea!!:thumbsup2
only thing I'd be afraid they would "burn out" before the end of the night.... and you'd need a lot of them for each night.
But I really like that idea for the kids!!! they can keep them at the night stand to make them feel a little safer!!!!:thumbsup2

I cannot wait for my first visit to CSR. Looking at all the beautiful pics makes me so anxious!!:yay:

My husband is a salesman and sells to dollar stores. He brought nightlights home three years ago and I keep one in the powder room...it's still the same one from three years ago. :)

We are driving in so no big deal to brink a couple of night lights. The glow sticks are a good idea though! My DD 4 actually has a dimmer switch on her bedroom light, it works like a charm. It's turned up when she goes to bed and turned down after she goes to sleep. All over light! :)

Hello everyone:goodvibes

I am 17 days away from CSR heaven! It is my first stay here and I am extremely excited to say the least!

I received a link with the fax number for room requests and had a question before I give it a try.

Is it best to fax one about the 2 week mark? Or closer to travel, say 2 days before? Has anyone had luck with their process and want to share?

I have Cabanas listed on my reservation, but would like to give it a whirl and back it up with a request.

I am set with my new camera and can't wait to share some pic's when I get back!:thumbsup2

Thanks! and thanks for a great thread!:wizard:

I used to fax four or five days before my arrival date. However, at the beginning of the year, they went to a computer-generated assignment of rooms and supposedly they now ignore faxes (CSR used to read them, but really don't know if they do anymore). If you want to give it a try, I'd do it five days before arrival.

Thanks KatMark! I know it is a crap shoot, but I figured it couldn't hurt. I did not want to fax something over too early, I'm ready to roll right now:rotfl:

I am in a water view and not "prefered" so I am thinking I may get lucky!...or I could end up with a pool view in rachos, either way not the end of the world.

Now I know I am in the right place!!! I was hoping someone could help me with some info about CSR. I originally booked a preferred room however, I need to downgrade to save a bit of money. I'd like to request to be close to the food court (I know this is never a guarantee), but because CSR is so big and has many sections, I don't know what area to request.

Can someone please guide me?:flower3:

I can't wait to get back to CSR- I'm almost there!

I have a question about requesting a location (I know it's not guaranteed). I stayed in Cabanas 8A when I was there last, and I LOVED the location. I want to request it again. When I booked our trip this time, I got a free water view upgrade. Do you think the water view will limit my chances at a request for Cabanas 8A? I know there are water view rooms at 8A, but honestly, I'd rather have 8A standard view than a waterview in another building. I was planning to make that request when I do online check-in shortly before we leave. Do you think that's sufficient, given the new computerized room assignments? If given a water view in a different building, is it crazy to forgo the waterview and ask for std. 8A? Thanks! :wizard:

I don't think it is crazy at all. Personally, I won't pay for a waterview as I'm not in the room enough to enjoy it (and there is no balcony). It doesn't hurt to ask for it if that is what you really want. Although if they put you in a waterview in Casitas 4 or 5, it's really a great area too.

Preferred is Casitas 1, 2 and 3 which are closest to the main building. However, you can request Cabanas 9A or 9B which are not far from the main building either. An ideal location would be Cabanas 8A which is very close to the Dig Site with a short walk over the bridge to the main building (food, registration, gift shop).

I got a waterview kinda by accident so this is a good thing then? I don't really all that much care, but I'd like to be close to the theme pool for my daughter. I think when I booked it there wasn't anything else available, I know there wasn't a drop down for anything other than this. I"m 180 out and patiently ( not Really ) awaiting my itnerary with my ADR's from my agent at the present time and since 8am this morning all I've been doing is checking my email to the point where I'm sort of annoying myself now ! I"ve read and researched so much I could have just done them myself but at the time didn't think so now I wish I had and could have them done myself by now ! grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Was just reading the latest All Ears Newsletter & it said as of April 16, CSR guests staying in Casitas 1 receive Free WiFi Internet Service. It's part of a Pilot program. Just thought it would be helpful for anyone who is going to be staying in Casitas 1.
