Question to Disneymom09 - what was the DTD bus issue? Were they just few & far between? We won't get there until I am guessing at least 7 on the night we arrive but still want to go to DTD to have a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich. I just don't want to have to wait an hour and a half for a bus...... If I have some time specs we could always I assume head to a park & grab a DTD bus from there that might run more frequently.

I am not Disneymom09, but I would strongly suggest you get a cab to DTD. No matter what resort--value, moderate, deluxe--the buses to DTD are the absolute worse and people ahve talked of waiting anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours.

We were headed down to DTD on our first night for dinner and some shopping and we waited for what seemed like forever! It was a little frustrating since half of our party had flown in and had not eaten since breakfast. We were at bus stop 2, and due to the fact that the DTD busses start at bus stop 1, it was a very crowded bus by the time we got on. We almost drove down there instead, but a bus did come. I would say that if you're going to DTD it might be worth going to bus stop 1 and waiting on that bus there. What is funny is that for the rest of the week, we would see tons of DTD busses during the day when we were at the bus stop waiting on our park bus. We would laugh everytime we would see them. We even saw 2 in a row one day.

You may want to contact Services for Guests with Disabilities at (407) 824-4321 and discuss your needs with them. They may be able to assist in ensuring you get placed where you need to be, even with a standard room.

I had called to make a special request through disabilities. The person at disabilities told me to call the resort 5 days before we check-in to make sure they saw the request. I called at the 5 day point, but the switchboard operator woudn't transfer me. She said they changed it to a 3 day point. So be sure to call the resort 3 days prior to make sure they saw the disability note. They were able to put us near the dig site and near a bus stop, in the buiding I had requested. We drove to the main building to eat at the Pepper Market. I requested that because, there was no where to drive to the Dig Site.

Just FYI, there are no buses from the parks to DTD, the DTD buses run from resorts not from the parks. Disney does this to discourage guests from parking for free at DTD to avoid paying for parking at the Parks.

I am just a few days away from our first stay at CSR! DH and I are going without the kids and this will be the first time saying at a moderate. We are in Disney at least twice a year but we always stay at the values. Thanks to the great Military discount we are staying at CSR this trip. Looking forward to it!

Mary, hope you and your husband have a great trip. It is a whole different type of trip without the kiddies. Enjoy!

From one military wife to another: Have a great vacation! It is so special to be able to get away without the kids! Hope you enjoy your stay at CSR!

I didn't really say it right. I meant MK in general - and then monorail around to CR or GF/Poly - then the bus. Not the most efficient probably but beats waiting for a bus that seems like it will never come. :rotfl:

Sometimes you have to be creative. One hot tiring day we wanted to go to DHS from Epcot. They told us at the front that the only transport to DHS - Swan/Dolphin & Yacht/Beach was via boat at the World Showcase. (We did know about the boat as we were at the Swan, but we really did NOT want to walk to the WS entry as we were hot & tired). So we hopped the monorail to the MK area & grabbed a bus to DHS from there. All in all took less ti-me than it would have taken to walk to the WS entryway. (I don't know if this is still accurate or if they now have busses from front of Epcot to DHS & S/D Y-B or not). Did the same thing another time with BLISTERS at front of Epcot when we wanted to get BACK to the Swan without aggravating the blisters - we hopped the monorail & then bussed to Swan from MK. My DS was coming back from the golf course & he knew what time we were at the front of Epcot as we had been on the phone. He knew neither DD nor I were THAT fast of walkers & could not figure out how we got back to Swan so quick.

Hello CSR Experts...Kathy in particular! ;)

I just booked CSR on a nice 35% off PIN, but the only available room category left was preferred.

I want to confirm that preferred rooms are only in the Casitas, correct? I was really wanting to request the Cabanas and be near The Dig Site, but no point in that if my room can only be in the Casitas.

So if I'm stuck in Casitas....
Are there elevators? I will be traveling with my 82 year old grandmother. I was thinking of requesting a ground floor room, but if there are elevators it's not a big issue. I thought a non-ground floor room would have less foot traffic and thus be quieter.
Do corner rooms at CSR have double windows like they do at POFQ?
I was also thinking of requesting a lake view. How far from parking are the Lake View Casitas rooms? I might want to skip the lake view request for a close to parking request instead, depending on how far it would be.

Thanks!

I am beyond excited to be booking CSR for early October! I am hoping to get some advice on the best room request for our needs.

1. We will have a car, so will not need to be especially close to a bus stop.

2. We would like to be close to a parking lot so that when we return from the parks at night with two sleeping children, we do not have to carry them far!!

3. We would like to be relatively close to the main building, but, more importantly, close to the Dig Site.

What do you all think? I was thinking maybe Cabanas? Which buildings?

Thanks in advance!!:)

The cabanas would put you close to the dig site, and not that far from the main buiding. We were in room 8152 which was half way between bus stop 4 and the dig site. Our car was not right outside our room, but it wasn't a far walk (but too far to be carrying sleeping children). There were rooms in our building much closer to the parking lot than ours. You could always ask for a parking lot view room and be close to the parking lot. 8A is the furthest cabana from the main building. My son could not walk from our room to the main building and back, we needed a stroller. I took lots of pics, you can check out my CSR trip report in my siggie.

We'll be at CSR at the end of Sept. DH just found out about Big River Grille. The thought of visiting a microbrewery at DW has him more excited than I've seen him in years!:confused3:rotfl: Since one of our goals this trip is to eat only at TS restaurants that we haven't tried before I agreed, reluctantly (I'm not a big beer drinker).

So here's my question: What's the easiest route from CSR to Boardwalk. My first guess was a bus to HS or Epcot then a bus to Yacht or Beach Club. But isn't there a boat from these parks too?

We won't be in the parks that day- it will be our sleep in, lie by the pool, do a little shopping day.:thumbsup2

I would take the bus to DHS & then take the boat from DHS to the Boardwalk. My dh really enjoyed this restaurant as well, enjoy!

The easiest is a taxi (about $25 one way). The cheapest way is a bus to DTD, then transfer to a boardwalk bus.

Thank you both for your quick replies!! Yes, a taxi is ALWAYS the easiest way, but I think we'll opt for Disney transport (unless DH really, really loves their micro brew and we end up staying till closing:P).

Hi; Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are preferred buildings. Casitas 1 and 3 have elevators (2 does not, although you can get to it from the elvator in 3 it is very confusing).

We have been on the first floor a number of times during our stays and never had an issue with an overabundance of foot traffic and never any noise. Casitas 3 has some beautiful views of the lake and are not too far from Bus Stop 2.

I would request a ground floor room for your grandma.

I think Cabanas 8A would be a perfect request for you (or Cabanas 9A).

I'm sure this has been answered several times in the 100 posts so i apologize for asking again, but can anybody tell me the order of bus stops here and are the always in the same order no matter which park.

Going to all the theme parks, the buses pick up in this order:
- Casitas (Bus stop #2)
- Ranchos (Bus stop #3)
- Cabanas (Bus stop #4)
- El Centro (main building) (Bus stop #1)

Going to Downtown Disney, the buses pick up in this order:
-El Centro (#1)
-Casitas (#2)
-Ranchos (#3)
-Cabanas (#4)

They are always in this order. Hope this helps!

Welcome shpdem

I was asking the same question. I understand the 1st pick up and drop are at Bus Stop 2, Casitas Buildings 1,2,3,4,5. then to Bus Stop 3, Ranchos Building 6,7, then to Bus Stop 4, Cabanas Buildings 8,9, then to Bus Stop 1 Main Building - El Centro. Sometimes during busy seasons the bus is full or standing room only when leaving bus stop 2.

Hope this helps.
