Kids are still sick (going on 2 weeks now). I am sick as well. I looked at the forecast at WDW, and it's calling for rain. I am questioning if the trip is even going to be worth it. Little kids and rain do not mix. SICK little kids and rain is even worse. Ugghhh, this is so frustrating.

I would keep checking the weather. They could change the forecast to no rain by tomorrow.

I hope your kids feel better soon. :grouphug:

Oh, Amber. I'm so sorry the kids are still sick and you too. Hopefully, it won't be much longer and you'll all feel great for your trip. A rainy Disney is better than no Disney (but I hear what you are saying about sick kids and rain).

You still have 5 days to get better! I hope good health is right around the corner!

Isn't it supposed to start warming up in 5 days? We are leaving next Friday and the FL weather looks like it will be back to normal (warmish and possibility of rain).

I hope you all are feeling better. Have you gone in to see a doctor? I hope they can help.

The silver lining about the rain is that maybe there will be nobody in the parks and you'll walk on everything without any waiting! Maybe you might benefit from bigger ponchos with fleece underneath.:confused3

Almost time....looking forward to our first stay at CSR!

I dont care where they put us..lol..requested Cabanas..anything beachy in December is a treat for me!
Flights have been ridiculous out of Chicago....we had our return flight..finally this morning SW had a flight for $84 outgoing for us! Nothing like waiting til the last minute!

We just got back from 2 nights at CSR followed by 7 nights at the Poly. This was our first time staying on-site, and we really liked CSR! Our ONLY complaint was that we were put in the Ranchos, and it was a really long walk. We checked in at night so I guess we got the last pick. Also, when we checked in, it was like an hour wait for help with our luggage, so we had to make that long walk with two little ones and ALL our luggage. We had a hard time finding our building since it was dark and we were tired, so it made the walk even longer.

The room was great though, we thought the beds were comfy, and it was very quiet! We also loved the Jaguar pool and slide, and the Dig Site play area. Great theming!

The resort looked really beautiful all lit up at night! I'd definitely stay there again, although I'd miss the monorail access from the Poly.

I spent the last two evenings reading through this thread and just want to thank everyone for all the posts. My family will be staying at CSR January 24th - 29th. We are SO excited. My husband's first trip to WDW. I think he is more excited than our 6 year old!

My question is this...is it bad to NOT request a specific room location? We have a waterview room (only type available). I read on this thread that the quiet pool in the Cabanas location will be closed while we are there...so our only real request would be to not have a room there just in case it is warm enough to use the pool :)

Any thoughts???

Thanks for the help!

Jennifer :)

Call Disney and request Cabanas 8A (our building) or 8b. They will put them on your ressie. Both are a quick walk to the main pool, and have a bus stop right behind. Also, the walk to the main building is not too bad from here.

We requested 9A or 9B on our visit and were initially disappointed not to get one. They said they would move us on the 2nd day if we wanted... turns out we were in the perfect spot for us and stayed there.

As far as warm enough... we went in Feb. last year and it was in the upper 60's mostly, except the last day or so in the low 70's. DS and I were in the pool almost every day (we're from Maine and not too bright I guess). The Dig Site pool water was 80 degrees. Just be sure to have your towels and clothes ready quick when you get out!

Good luck and have fun!

I've been trying online check in for a few days now with no success. Anyone else having trouble?

Thanks so much for the help. We are from Indiana, so I'm sure we'll be in the pools no matter how chilly it is! Enjoy your trip...

Just got back from our first stay at CS. We had a nice time, and loved our room. I had reserved a King room with a request for Casitas for 4 or 5. We were upgraded to a junior suite in Casitas 1. I didn't even question the bldg location after the room upgrade. It turns out that we liked the location. It was a very short walk to El Centro. It was cold during our visit so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the grounds or pool during our stay. All staff that we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and seemed to be in good repair. I felt that overall it was a nice resort. DH liked it too, but he missed the convenience of a monorail resort ( I liked not having to pay the price of a monorail resort).

Ok - I was unable to book the Free Dining for a Value resort because my dates sold out. My friends are staying at CSR and I have been at CSR for meals and some business - so I was a mildly familiar with it. Not having any options at the Values - I looked to the Moderates especially CSR. I determined that I saved more $ booking the Passholder rate then opting for the Free Dining. I checked the price online - then called the reservations dept to book over the phone. Well my phone reservation was $240 HIGHER than online - both water view. My phone reservation was for 2 queens, the online was for a king BUT the queens are priced lower than kings so why was mine an extra $200?? I called back - the next clerk told me that there are more than one passholder rate code and she would adjust it to the lower one. I always thought the discount was the same no matter the code!! So now I still have waterview but with a king. I pulled up my reservation online ( just to make sure it was now correct ) and it says I have : 2 BR Suite-NU . Is this actually a suite? :confused3 For the price of a King? I had said I may check back from time to time to see if any Queens opened but I wont touch it if this could really be a suite.....Or are all Kings a suite? So sorry for my ignorance I am a Disney vetern but a CSR newbie!! :)

Thanks for letting us know about your trip. We had a junior suite in Casitas 3 in 2008 -- it was great. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay (and I'm with you...I'd rather save the money over the monorail resort).

No, king beds are NOT in suites (they could be, but it is not the way it is for every king room). If the money is not too much of a difference, I'd leave it alone.

I am fine in any of the rooms - but was puzzled by the room description on the Disney confirmation. Is 2BR suite-NU a suite? Strange code for a King? Thanks for the help...I'm a CSR newbie!!
