Here is the map so you can see the room locations/the red circles are the bus stops

the buses will load evcs on first so you can get all over with them, also you can take them on the monorail

Hey mom! :wave2: I finally made it all the way through.....basically been reading all day but I am very excited that we switched to CSR! :thumbsup2

Just wondering why the tip is automatically added to your bill at the pepper market. I am assuming that it is because a CM seats you and takes your drink order. But why do they just do that at the pepper market and no other food court at any of the other moderate resorts?

We just booked a preferred room for thanksgiving week. Can someone tell me what the benefit of the preferred room is??? I have read through almost all posts, and I still don't understand if this location is close to "everything". CMs words.
My dad has mobility issues, and hated the riders. Thinks they are more trouble than they are worth. He had Afib oblation surgery earlier this year, so I don't want the walk to be too hard. I just don't want him to not enjoy himself. I guess I just want to know if you think this is a good location.
Thanks in advance!!
Tina

Please don't tell me to get him the device, he's stubborn, I have no control. :confused3 I have a 5 y/o and sometimes I don't know who is worse. LOL

The preferred rooms at CSR are only close to the food court. The Business Class rooms are the prime location at CSR.

This will be my first stay at CSR. I can't wait! While DH is attending a conference at the resort during the first week of September, I will be splitting my time between the pool and the parks. (Tough job for me, I know, but someone's gotta do it! :beach:)

We booked a standard room with free dining (looking forward to trying DDP for the first time, too!). As it gets closer to our trip, I'd like to call and confirm our ressie, and request a certain area of the resort. I'm trying to figure out which area would be a good "compromise" for DH and me, since he will want to be fairly close to the conference center, and I will want to be fairly close to the main pool and a bus stop. I was looking at Bldg. 4 and 5, for starters. Any thoughts on that, or other words of wisdom? Hoping that some of you CSR fans can help me out! :flower3:

So I am going to have change from PORFQ to CSR. I am very apprehensive. For starters I do enough walking in the park and really don't care to walk more at the resort. :( Please sell me on this resort. I am going standard room as all preferred are taken. Tell me what would be the ideal location for a bus stop, hot tub, and refillable mugs, Thanks in advanced for all your help.

Here's the only thing keeping me from falling off the fence and onto the CSR lawn as opposed to CBR's.

My wife and I have no kids, but we love Art of Animation. If we're paying to stay in Disney, we want to know we're in 'the world', or else we would stay in a holiday inn off site or something.

Does CSR still have that Disney magic at the level places like Polynesian have? They put you in Hawaii, but you never forget that it's Disney hawaii. I don't want to just feel like im in Mexico at Coronado.

Should I book a standard room and request a building close to the pyramid pool? Map looks like I want to be in Cabanas 8A or Ranchos 7B. Are those buildings in the standard room category? Thanks!

I prefer to be close to that pool than in the Casitas (preferred rate category) which are close to the food court.

Ranches or Cabanas are both close to the dog site and a bus stop. And the buses run internally so if you don't want to walk you can use them to get around. It's really not as bad of a walk as its made out to be and the resort is gorgeous so I actually prefer the walk!

Hi :wave2: We are another family that through free dining could only get CSR and I had my heart set on POR which I loved last time. I am trying to get excited about it. I have to say saving $1754 got me pretty excited already :rotfl: We are a family of 4 DS10 and DD6. I could only get a standard room. We will only use the main pool a couple times and will be using the busses. Every morning we refill our mugs so which building should we request? We would like close to main building and bus stop. And which one is the first bus stop? Thanks for any help you can give!

just booked through Orbitz and got Coronado Springs Nov30-Dec7 for $1073. Can't beat it.

Totally excited to stay.

I've currently got two reservations for that week. ASMu with FD and CSR with about 30% off. If we can switch from ASmu by a cancellation and get FD at Pop I might cancel CSR, but if not, we're probably cancelling ASMu at 45 days.

Us too. I was hoping for POFQ then moved on to POR when I found out it was excluded from the fd promotion. POR had no availability so now we're on to CSR. This will be our first on-site stay so I'm excited about that but know absolutely nothing about CSR. Looking forward to getting some great advise from all the CSR experts :)

I'm not sure exactly how to answer this. IMO most of the WDW resorts other than the Values and maybe Contempory (Chef Mickey's) aren't all Disney'd up. How a resort makes you feel is kind of a personal taste thing. For example POFQ is one of the most popular resorts on DIS boards, but I think it is hideous. The theme there isn't the slightest bit appealing to me and I would never stay there unless it was the last resort with a room.

I feel like I'm at Disney at any of the on property resorts. CSR is beautiful. When it it's all lit up at night it is arguably one of the most appealing at WDW. I'm not sure that there is anything there that outright says Disney, however I think it's just as Disney as CBR and POR. I've never felt like I was at a convention resort and for us it is the perfect resort for the money. Whether you feel the same way is hard to say. Sometimes you just get that "feeling" at a resort and sometimes you don't. I would say that its certainly nice enough to try once though if that's all that's available to you. There are some great people that are regulars on this thread that will help you make the most of your stay.:thumbsup2

I can only help with question #1. We have been four times in early November and always been granted all our room requests (and I usually ask for several very specific things). I've never stayed at CSR, but I am assuming that I will probably get my room requests there as well. I just always keep in mind that they are requests and I'm not guaranteed anything. However, Disney has always tried to make my family as happy as possible! :)

How do you request things?

So i booked a business standard for dd and i for october, I was wondering if 9b is the only building for the business suites or if 9a was also included. There is a convention happening while we are there and I'm worried about getting bumped out because of it, what would disney do in that kind of case anyways?:confused3

We were planning on POR-Riverside but didn't like the room category available with free dining so we switched to CSR. After looking more into it, I'm very happy! We booked standard room and requested to be close to pyramid pool. You can get drinks there without going all the way to the main building. The resort looks very nice (check out the night time pictures). It definitely looks like it has a more deluxe feel to it. I found the walks at most resorts to be enjoyable. My biggest concern about walks is getting from the bus stop late at night with a sleepy child. I requested the cabanas building 8A. Requests are not guaranteed... but I found if you check in early in the day and let the front desk know you don't need to get into the room right away and willing to wait.... they may have the room you want available later in the day. Meanwhile, go to the parks or swim.
