I'm here right now too...we love it! It is just my husband and I, so based on what I read on this thread I requested Casitas...we are in Casitas 3 with a water view, which I think is an upgrade from the standard room we paid for. Rooms are gorgeous, beds Ae very comfy, thr grounds are beautiful and so far just loving it. We are on QSDP...haven't had a chance to eat at Pepper market, but had a great meal at Wolfgang Puck express in Downtown Disney, and used a snack credit for a HUGE hot fudge sundae at the Boardwalk Sweet Shop that we shared.

AppreciTe all of the help on these boards!!!:worship:

Has anyone taken part in these events? What did you think? We are arriving around 4:00pm on our first day and I thought about doing this and relaxing by the pool instead of rushing to a park like we always do. Then getting a good night of rest before rising early and going park commando! :cool1:

yeah- thats our plan- swim, eat at Pepper Market. Stay and enjoy the resort.

We booked a waterview room and its $196.00 dollars more than a standard. Is it that big of a different?

The difference would pay for 2 adn 1/2 of our MNNSHP.

We don't mind walking at all!
I'm thinking of switching

We've stayed at CSR twice, both times we had water view rooms and I think it was completely worth it. While you can't see much of anything from inside the room, when we walked directly out, we were facing the lake, as opposed to an odd sort of interior hallway or a parking lot. I think it makes the resort feel much nicer. But that might not be worth it you.

I have read that Pepper Market offers a lunch (and maybe breakfast too) buffet. Durring those times, is the buffet my only option or can I order ala cart?

Keep in mind "waterview" is a very loose description at a Disney resort. You may not walk out of your room to a beautiful lake view. We were "upgraded" last year at CBR to a waterview room. If walking out of our room, turning right and walking to the end of the building to see the lake is considered waterview, then yes, we had a waterview room. BTW--we loved CBR so weren't upset about our room, just glad we hadn't paid extra for it.

I think taking the evening to rest is good so you'll be able to hit the ground running the next day. :thumbsup2

We did some pool games at Pepper Market a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.

Last year, we spent a few evenings at POFQ just relaxing at the resort and watching the outdoor movie. Fun! It's a nice way to spend the evening. Roasting marshmallows was fun, too.

Where do they show the movie at CSR?

I know there is a thread dedicated to the refillable mugs but my question is specific to CSR. Can anyone there now please confirm the design? We were at ASMu in '09 and it was the red mug with yellow, red or black lid & handle. At CBR in '11 it was the beach/swimming scene with aqua, pink, yellow or black lid & handle. I've been reading it's the same design for '12, which makes sense since it just changed in '11. Then I read yesterday on another board (not Dis) it was back to the red mugs from our '09 trip. That poster also commented there are resort specific mugs again. They posted a picture of a couple of them. Which made me even more  Also--do all mugs have the "chip" in them now or is it just the AS mugs as a test?

THANK YOU!!:goodvibes

I really apprecaite your input! We have always wanted to do the Poly, but with costs and the desire to stay longer, we have chosen other places. Those things you highlighted are the ones that we would consider our priority too!!

I have heard pepper market is like the CS from CBR which is our favorite!!

Thanks again!1

We have a waterview room so hoping to get a good room !!

Thank you to everyone for your comments. This is also our first stay at CSR. I am excited. Have stayed on property many, many times but never CSR.

I have read that Pepper Market offers a lunch (and maybe breakfast too) buffet. Durring those times, is the buffet my only option or can I order ala cart?

Buffet is your only option at Pepper Market during breakfast and lunch. Cafe Rix is also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is a la carte (counter service). Laguna Bar and Siesta's are open for lunch and dinner and are a la carte (counter service).

Breakfast:

Pepper Market (counter service buffet)
Cafe Rix (counter service - grab n go with some hot breakfast items)

Lunch:

Pepper Market (counter service) - buffet
Cafe Rix (counter service, Grab n Go with tables outside) - burgers, sandwiches, pizza, a couple of salads
Laguna Bar (counter service, outside seating) - sandwiches, pizza
Siesta's (counter service by the pool) - nachos, burgers, hot dogs

Dinner:

Pepper Market - a la carte - counter service
Cafe Rix
Laguna Bar
Siesta's
Maya Grill - table service

There is also a small room service menu.

We will be staying at CSR in May and I am very much looking forward to it. We paid for a water view room and I'm hoping to get Casitas. It will just be dh and myself and would like to be near a quiet pool. We may venture over to the dig site but that is not a priority for us. What building is close to a quiet pool? I understand that there is a spa, has anyone used that service? We stayed here once for one night and did not get to see or enjoy much of the resort so I'm not sure what to request for a room.

TIA!

Just booked our 1st trip to Disney! We will be at CSR Nov 18-24! This is a great thread, thanks for all the info that helped me choose CSR. Can't wait!!!

We are staying here 9/14 thru 9/22. It will be my family and my mom will be joining us. Got a standard room for my family (husband, me, 8yr, 8yr, and 2yr olds), for 8 nights, free dining and 7 day regular tickets. We got a great deal $2870. Also, got round trip airfare of $233 from NY. I'm so excited about staying here since we have never stayed here before and we LOVE free dining. Making my adr's on March 18th.

Finally after years of wanting to stay at CSR I booked FD in early September for our family. I am so excited. Especially since I just got back and was unable to get a room here and ended up at my lovely, but done too many times, POP :) Still had a fabulous time.

My question is this. I paid for a preferred room, but I am looking to be very near the quiet pool in Casitas since my husband swims every morning. This is his only request, so I guess since he's paying for it, he gets to pick ONE thing...lol. I put in a request for Casitas 4, but after reading this thread, it looks like Casitas 4 is NOT preferred. Is Casitas 3 pretty close to the pool as well? I'm just not sure what to ask for. We wanted to be close to bus stop 2, the gym and the pool. Ground floor.

Thoughts?

The casitas quiet pool is near casita 4. The ranchos quiet pool is near 7B. The cabanas quiet pool is near 9A. Since you booked a waterview room, you can request a view of a quiet pool (other water views are the lake or the fountains).

I haven't used the spa, but Kathy (KatMark) gets a massage every trip. :goodvibes

The casitas quiet pool is next to casita 4 - this is a non-preferred building. Casita 3 (preferred) is also close to the quiet pool. Casita 4 is closest to the bus stop, gym and pool, but since it is a standard building, you can request it, but you might end up in another section entirely.

Your choices (as I see it):

Stick with preferred but request casita 3, ground floor. You can ask at check-in if you can be in casita 4, but I don't think they will refund the room difference. Keeping the preferred room guarantees you will be in casita 1, 2 or 3, at least at the time of your initial room assignment. Even if you are placed in casita 1, you'll be less than five minutes to the pool.

Or, book a standard room and request casita 4. But you could end up in ranchos or cabanas. They each have quiet pools, but the casita quiet pool is the lap pool.

Here is a map of CSR that might help:
