Where ares the cms that play this game? And do they all do it or only the fun ones?
my girls would love this!

In the gift shop, there was always someone there when we went you just have to ask... Some were more fun than others.... My daughter even loved the not so fun ones as she got a free pin!

Love the layout and decor of the room and the queen beds, paid for preferred room and once again (happened 2x at CBR) I manage to get a preferred room that is as far away as possible - Ranchos 3 - almost in 5.

Umm...hmmm. At CSR the preferred rooms are in Casitas 1, 2 & 3. NOT the Ranchos.

If you still paid the premium room price, (meaning they did not credit back your account) I would be on the phone ASAP and get a refund check.

This is precisely what I am worried about. I have never stayed in a hotel chain where if you paid for an upgraded room, that you were not given that category or better when you checked it. Or if they couldn't do so, compensation was automatic.

This is the at least the third time I have heard of Disney 'downgrading' a reservation without compensation or a refund on these boards in the last month. :headache:

I suppose it is wise to know exactly what you are booking in the first place, but this cavalier attitude about taking extra money without providing goods is fraud. Plain and simple.

I think tjmw2727 meant to say casita 3, not ranchos 3. There is no ranchos 3, and casita 3 is a preferred room. It is not as close to El Centro as casita 1, but I think casita 3 is a nice location not too far from the casitas bus stop and the quiet pool. We prefer cabanas, so we do not pay for a preferred room at CSR.

We went to see the movie at 9:00 and the Pool bar was already closed (It was disappointing b/c I really was not expecting it to close until 10)

The one near El Centro was open (according to the bartender it depends on if it gets busy or not)

I am unsure if there is a specialty drink, I wanted something frozen and sweet to beat the heat and the MANGO DAQUIRIS are awesome (served in both bars)

I so want one right now....

But pool bar closing early is my only complaint.. I love CSR and cant wait to go back in October!

This would be my only complaint/question also. I found it odd that the pool snack bar closed at 6:00. Seemed awfully early considering the campfire and movie are scheduled after it closes. Would have been nice to be able to get a snack to enjoy with the movie (other than having to walk to El Centro & back.) We would have also utilized the bar/drink area prior to 11:00am. We liked to swim in the morning and then head to parks. Being able to refill our mugs, even at 9 or 10am would have been nice. With as many activities as are scheduled at the Dig Site, the hours Siestas was open confused me.

p.s.--really enjoyed the banana daquiris! :thumbsup2

I 100% agree that the pool bar and snack should be open through movie time. Even if the movie were not scheduled, many families swim in the evenings! I know that it costs $$ to staff cast members, but surely there would be a nice profit from the evening crowd at the Dig Site. :confused3

Kind of OT: Last summer, dd and I watched several movies at POFQ. When we knew we'd be having a movie night, we'd buy something in the parks (a bucket of popcorn on our way out of the park, one of those BIG lollipops, etc.) to bring to the movie. That was a nice, and convenient, treat!! At POFQ, the movies are shown in the courtyard which is convenient to the food court. It was nice to refill our mugs there. If the pool bar were open at CSR, it would be vary convenient for movie attendees to get their drinks while watching the movie.

You are so right - casita 3 :) but all the way to then end by the quiet pool.

We were in Casitas 4 last trip which is one building farther than you were and it was a 4 minute walk to El Centro. Beautiful location by that quiet pool and right by the #2 bus stop which is the best stop at CSR.

No need to panic! It was a mis type. I have never ever heard of anyone getting downgraded at WDW without some sort of compensation.

I agree with the others about the pool bar. It is disappointing that it doesn't stay open longer. I guess because there is 2 other lounges open at CSR they figure they don't need to keep it open for a couple people. I would buy a 6-pack at Panchitos and bring it to the pool with me...lol

Exactly - and as per my original point I paid over $20 per night more for preferred and was about as far away as possible within that category.

Lol....there isn't alot of rooms on WDW property closer than 4 mins to the food court.

Not panicking. As I said, if I had not read the contrary, here on DIS, just in the last month alone I wouldn't be so peeved about it.

So far, I haven't heard of it happening at CSR lately, but people at other values and mods have had their category 'overbooked' and then downgraded at check-in with the CM nonchalantly explaining it happens all of the time.

But, we're getting off topic. A quick search of the forums will illustrate the point.

Casitas 3 wouldn't be bad. It's a short enough walk to El Centro for me and my crew. But, getting a room on the 4th floor of Casitas 2? That is something I try to avoid.

Yeah, that wouldn't be the best. I would like to think they only use those rooms when the resort is completely full. Don't hear of too many people on DIS being put there anyway.

We were told that the pool bar closed at 9 because that is when the lifeguards went off duty. It would be nice if it was open a bit later but I completely understand them wanting to not serve alcohol when there are no lifeguards. The behavior we saw by one family after the lifeguards left was sad - we had to get security involved. (It involved a dad and his teenage son doing running dives into the pool and doing flips off the lifeguard stands. I'm shocked they didn't wind up running over or hitting any of the other people - there were some close calls!)

When we were there last week the snack bar closed at 6pm & the drink bar closed at 7pm. Both much too early considering the activities still going on at the pool.

The walk from Dig Site to El Centro really is not that bad.. I checked my watch and it was not even ten minutes back and forth including waiting for my daquiri... LOL... CSR looks much larger than it really is and the walk is not bad at all... I am just spoiled and want it next to the pool at comfy hours.. .LOL
