Will be at CSR when the K-12 chess tournament will be there do you think the pools and buses will be crowded since they are kids.. you would think they would be going to the parks and swimming? Do they usually stay longer then the convention to enjoy the world? I am just wondering if this should effect where i request to stay. Thanks for any info.

We've never been during that particular convention, but I think you'll be fine.

Saturday is rapidly approaching and I am getting soooo excited. The last time we stayed at CSR, the beds had just been switched out to the queens but they had just started the room refurbs. Can't wait to see the new look! :thumbsup2

Still can't believe that in just 3 1/2 days I'll have the biggest smile on my face as I "go home." Nothing like that feeling. :cool1:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

just a little over 2 months 'till we leave for our long drive to CSR... i CAN'T WAIT!!!!

When should I send in a building request? Also, which should I request? We are travelling with 2 kids, so would like to be fairly close to the Dig Site.

You should call now and have it noted on your reservation. If you don't mind being further form the main building, ask for Ranchos 7A or 7B; if not, ask for Cabanas 8A or 8B.

Hi! Everyone!

I just booked CSR for 9/18-9/24 during free dining! My husband and I are pumped! We honeymooned at WDW in 2008, but we stayed at Pop. We are looking forward to staying at a moderate this time and continuing our adventures in gluttony with the DxDDP.

I booked two breakfasts at Maya Grill during our stay. Forgive me if it's been asked before, but are the choices there tasty? The menu looks good, but I am not sure if I want to eat there twice if it's not great, ya know? We are going to be eating Breakfasts at Kona Cafe, Crystal Palace, Boma, and Kouzzina as well. If Maya Grill isn't the best, any other suggestions?

Thanks!!! I cannot wait!

The breakfast menu at the Maya Grill is relatively new. Until recently, it was a buffet. We always enjoyed it when it was a buffet. We too will be eating at Kona, Crystal Palace and Boma for breakfast.

Be sure to keep an eye on this thread. We'll be there the 17th through the 21st and we are going to try to set up a DIS meet.

We are there from 2nd-23rd!!

What is the phone number to call and request a particular block - is it the general WDW number or do you call the resort?

We are leaving in 20 hours!!! (not that I'm counting down or anything) I can't wait to get there and see the rooms and the hotel. I have always stayed in a value hotel so this is going to be a huge step up.

You call the general reservations number and ask that they note it on your reservation (if you used a Travel Agent, then they will have to do it).

Have a magical stay at Disney; pixiedust: for ideal weather, low crowds and a terrific stay at the CSR. :)

To mangle Jules Verne, we are going back to the World in 80 Days.

We are staying in CSR this time around, after using a 40% off code the wife got in the mail. We've stayed mainly off property thanks to in-laws who live in Kissimmee. A few years back (2006), they moved into a retirement community that is a little too far from the Mouse. So since 2007 we have stayed on property twice, both at POP.

CSR looks to be very nice, and the kids are looking forward to using the slide, and attending a pool opening ceremony. I got through all of this thread in only 10 days. :D

So, in my looking around, I was trying to find out if there is a printer available in the business center. If so, does it cost money to use it? I need to print out my boarding passes for Southwest before we leave, and figured the business center was the best place to do that.

But not if they are going to charge me an arm and leg to do it. I'll have my own laptop, and will pay to connect to the wi-fi, but needing to print seems to MIA.

I did see that there was some mention of checking the transportation thread for southwest, but I have other printing needs besides my airline boarding passes.

Wondering if anyone had any info about this?

Not bad at all. We were at CSR a few years ago during the chess meet. Kids were mostly quiet, and always seemd to be playing chess or discussing strategy. Not crowded at the pools or on the buses at all, saw them mostly at the Pepper Market or refilling mugs.

Not sure about extra $ for the printer (probably is extra cost), but 10 minutes of internet time cost $6 plus tax last Sept.

I had my netbook with me and paid the $9.95 for a few 24 hour periods in the room, but couldn't get into a site I need to check for work so went to the business center to do that. I'm sure it was just a security setting or IE setting on my netbook, but I was on vacation and didn't want to fiddle around with it, usually don't use it for work stuff.

FWIW, you can just check in for Southwest and not print your boarding pass. You'll get your spot in line and can get the boarding pass printed at the airport.

I went to concierge and they printed out my SW boarding passes for no charge.

We had breakfast at Maya Grill during our stay and it was very good. Good service and very relaxing, not the hectic pace of the food court. I had an omelet, which I liked very much. DH ordered eggs, bacon, hash browns. Waiter thought they had cooked the eggs wrong, so he had the cook re-cook them and dh ate all of them! We also had breakfast at Kona and loved it because where else can you get Tonga Toast or Macadamia nut pancakes? Yum.

I've always done the same thing. Very easy and quick - just have your confirmation number ready.

Southwest is now doing the Airline Check-in at all of the Disney resorts in case you don't want handle your luggage to the airport.

Thanks you two. I plan to pay the $9.95 for the 24 hour access, but I may need to print, and wondered how they let you do that. I am a tech-head, doing IT work for my profession, so I can finagle things OK. Just wondered how they did it there.

Thanks! They didn't back in 2007 when we last went. Not that it mattered much to us. In 2008/0 we took the train, and they did not have anything to go there.

We are breakfast twins! I will definitely keep up with this thread, thanks!

Tonga toast...mmmmm! I am on Weight Watchers so I am already fantasizing about all the eating I will be doing in three months. :yay:

Can we be breakfast triplets?? Those are my top #3 too!:flower3:

This is too funny. :)

This will be a first for us at Kona. Mark's been dying to try the Big Kahuna so that's why I booked it. As I stated in my PTR, I am not a fan of bananas so there will be no tonga toast for me and I don't like nuts, so no macademia pancakes. I think I'll go with the omelet and get the fruit plate and whatever I don't finish in the fruit, I'll take with us to the parks to nibble on if I get hungry.

It's so funny how some folks just loooovveeee their breakfast! Personally, I'll take a chocolate chip muffin from the Pepper Market (or Rix now, right?), some milk, and a quick jog over to the bus stop!!! Let's get the day rollin'!!:rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I don't eat breakfast at home, so I make a point of having a big one prior to our day at the parks (we always go early -- 7:00 - 7:30 so that we are at rope drop or there shortly thereafter). :thumbsup2

They charge $1 per page to print at the business centre, so it sounds like you would be better off to try the concierge first.
