10 days and counting until we arrive at CSR!!:cool1: I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for all of the helpful advice.
I went back and forth about requesting Casitas (due to proximity to the fitness center, and 1st bus bus stop) BUT from the map it really looks like the walk to the gym would be a pretty one anyway...if we ended up in another area. So we are just going to go with what we are given and love it because we will be in DISNEY WORLD!!! YAY!
Anyone want pictures of anything special while we are there?

I'd love to see some photos of the food at Maya Grill, if you're going there.

I wasn on allears.net today and Mouseplanet. One of them (I can't be sure which) has a new photo blog of Maya Grill. Hope that helps.

Thanks!

I did find the photo blog on allears, but there's only a few photos of the actual food. I'm going to keep looking...

Quick question: (I have a lot, LOL.)

I know in some resorts, noise (ie. screaming, kids crying, and sometimes just talking.) can be heard coming from the room next door. Are the rooms quiet at CSR?

In our eight stays, I can remember only one night hearing someone next door...and it was a baby (maybe 14 months old or so) who was sick one night and cried his little heart out. Other than that, we have never heard anyone next to us, below or above us.

One time, someone left their clock radio alarm set in the room next door. It went off at 3 am! After it became clear that no one was going to turn it off, we called the front desk and they sent someone. The room was unoccupied - I think someone had to leave early the day before and forgot to shut the alarm off before they checked out.

On our last trip (May), I would have sworn that there was no one else in the whole building with us. We didn't even hear a door open or close the whole trip!

Thanks KatMark and StitchandPooh'smom.

I'm still trying to decide between CBR and CSR, and it's not easy. What's worst is that DW said the final decision was mine. :scared1:

I seem to be leaning towards CSR.

I have stayed at both and the biggest difference for me was the bus service. The busses at CBR always seemed to be packed. We never had that problem at CSR. I also think CSR is much prettier.

KatMark, thanks for your reply to jakeybake. I was going to ask almost the same question.

I just booked a trip to CSR today, for a conference in May. I'm not thrilled with having to work at WDW, but I should have at least two afternoon/evenings to spend as I wish.

Our family has stayed twice at WL and the last trip (only a week ago) was at the Contemporary, so I am very curious about CSR. The pictures make it look as beautiful as any of the resorts, so I'm interested to see how the moderate compares to the deluxe category.

I'll be reading this thread for the next 52 days!

We've stayed at both CBR and CSR, and for our family, it's not even remotely close. It's CSR by a mile!

Bigger beds.
Better food selections.
WAY better main pool.
Better bus service.
A few extra amenities usually reserved for the deluxes.

We've recommended CSR to a whole bunch of friends who have ended up there. And to a person, they've all absolutely LOVED it!

Don't get me wrong. We really liked CBR as well, but if you want a tropical, beachy feel, you could just as well request Cabanas at CSR!!!

Did I mention that I was biased when I started???:dance3:

Any kind of pictures are welcome at all times. You might be on the look out in the lake to see if you see "Glen's" cousin...we could use an updated alligator picture. :)

All right now. That poor baby needs a name. Surely someone has some suggestions.

I agree with ozziewags. I've stayed at all four moderates and CBR would rank fourth on my list (even though I am giving it another try in Oct, just because I haven't stayed there in awhile:rotfl:). When I stayed there several years ago the bus service was really bad. I've never stood on the buses as much as I did that week at CBR. On the other hand, CSR has always had the best bus service of any WDW I've ever stayed at and that includes the values and deluxes. I also much preferred the restaurants at CSR over the ones at CBR. The food court at CBR has just your typical food court fare, whereas the Pepper Market has alot more choices. The Pepper Market is more expensive though, if you are not on the DDP. Plus you get queen size beds at CSR. Both resorts are pretty though.

ITA with this. I liked the pool at CBR - and we had little ones who enjoyed the pirate ship area - it was hands down CSR for us too. We didn't like the food court, we enjoyed the bigger beds (and duvets) at CSR, our bus service was better and seriously, I can't tell you how HUGE CBR really is:rotfl:

We stayed in Ranchos 7B when we were at CSR - which is probably one of the remotest buildings at CSR... and it still took us less time to get to the pool/food court than our Martinique 21 building.

We're re-booked for CSR!

Hi there! I just booked 2 rooms at CSR one with a king bed and one standard. I'm so excited that I cannot wait for 12/3 to get here! At least I can start booking my dining reservations in June, which will keep me busy for a while lol!

Does anyone know when the MVMCP ticket dates will be released, and also when the December park hours will come out?

BTW I requested Casitas bldgs 1 2 or 3. Is that a good choice? I really like the look of the Casitas bldgs and figured being close to El Centro would be nice!

I stayed here in Ranchos ages ago, but it has been so long that I feel as if I am first timer at this resort again :)

We have just returned from our 7 night stay at CSR. I have to say that I was impressed! I have stayed in a value and a villa in the past, but I loved my stay here! The main reason we chose CSR was for the queen beds. I must say they were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for all of our stuff, but I did use the shoe organizer on the "closet" rail to keep the counter cleaned off. The grounds are breathtaking. We did use the pool once, and the kids loved it. The slide was fun for them. We also tried out the playground and the arcade, both of which were great hits! Pepper Market also scored great marks w/ us. We did dinner one night and breakfast on our departure day. The system can be a little confusing, but the food was an excellent use of counter service credits on the dining plan. We didn't try Maya Grill or Cafe Rix, so I can't comment on those. We had excellent service from mousekeeping. The room was made up and clean every day when we came back from the parks. I did leave a daily tip. No towel animals, though. Didn't mention the idea of them to the kids, so they didn't miss anything. The bus service was wonderful. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for any bus any time of day. All of the staff was friendly and helpful upon check in, check out, and everything in between. I have to say this resort is definitely a winner in our book!!!!!!
