I wish I could answer more of your questions, but I can at least offer a response to a couple of them. We were in the Ranchos section, standard view, 2nd floor. We were in a corner room on the back side of the resort. There was plenty of room just outside the door for a couple of folding chairs or the like; you could also go downstairs and sit on the lawn between the building and the parking lot, assuming you had your baby monitor. I don't believe you'd be more than 30 seconds away from the room even downstairs. There were nice trees that would provide shade. We also had a water view, even though the room wasn't listed as such. In walking around the resort, I believe each building would offer similar possibilities. It was always quiet where we were, so it would have been great for families with little ones who needed to nap.
Also, a pack-n-play should fit easily behind the sliding doors. We didn't have to worry about that since our youngest was 5, but I've heard of others who did exactly as you're asking. I think you're going to love CSR. Have a great trip!

Well that's a great question....

I don't know the answer perhaps someone else does? :rotfl2:

I had previously posted a similar question which KatMark answered. I went back and looked at the "Magic Your Way" description and found this:

Niki Bryan Spa Discount
15% off the regular price of any body treatment or water therapy at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. (Massage, facial and hand and foot treatments excluded. Age restrictions apply.)

Hope this helps.

Judy

Hmmmm.... Not good for a massages, nor is it good at CSR. It doesn't really help at all. But it does answer my question.

:rotfl2:

Thanks DisneyBunny.

Thanks for answering what you could!

We are going 1/31 to 2/2 (Florida residents just getting away for a couple days) and right now it shows no availability because of the USPS convention.

I called Disney directly and the CM told me that they had reserved the entire resort (is that even possible?) as they are a large convention. He also told me that rooms are usually released if not confirmed 4-5 days prior, which would be Monday or Tuesday.

I guess my question is, has anyone lucked out in finding a room here even though they've show sold out? He did tell me there's no "penalty" for booking even up to the day we're arriving (and we won't lose our FR discount of 40%), but I'm concerned if we wait and they don't come up that AKL won't have any rooms and we'll have nowhere to stay.

Any guidance is appreciated :)

mom2austin, will they allow you to switch from AKL to CSR without penalty? Then you could go ahead and book at AKL and switch to CSR if a room became available. Since, it's all with Disney, perhaps they would allow that?

We are thinking about going back to CSR this year, it would be our third time at this resort. I love that the rooms have been refurbed, but was wondering if the queen beds make the rooms seem smaller. We were seriously considering WL, but with queen beds and a mod price we are really thinking that going back to CSR might be the better way to go.

Dawnedwards, we haven't stayed on property, but will be in March. I had us booked at WL but finally got us into CSR. Hubby has to have a fitness center and we wanted a moderate so it had to be CSR. Our daughter is from Guatemala so I think it will be so great to be in that Mayan themed environment. We ended up booking adjoining king rooms for the same price as one room at WL so I am thrilled. Hope you get some feedback, I have heard that the beds ar CSR are really comfy and now with the refurb I can't wait til our trip!

We actually ended up changing our days to 2/2-2/4 and were able to get a room at CSR. Your suggestion wasn't an option the CM brought up when I called in, but I will know for the future if it happens again to ask.

Thank you!

dawnedwards - we will be going in about a week-and-a-half and I can report back if you'd like on how the room size feels :)

The 2 queen rooms didn't feel crowded to us and actually felt less crowded than the 2 double rooms at Port Orleans.

If we are checking in later at night (around 9:30-10pm) will there be bell service to help us get our luggage and 2 cases of water bottles to our room? If not would there atleast be rolling luggage carts we could use? We won't have a rental car.

That would be great. We are going to be booking in the next couple of weeks. We love CSR and the idea of Queen beds, but don't want a crowded room feel. We stayed at POP last year and just felt we had no room to move and I was worried that bigger beds in the same size room might make the room feel smaller.

Thanks and hope you have a great time.

We have stayed in the casitas the last two times we stayed at CSR. I know that I definitely don't want to stay at the Rancho's because we go to the Maya Grill or Pepper Market and the gift shop at least once a day.

Now that Cabana 9B is convention club only I am stumped as to what room to request. We are thinking Cabana, but we have never stayed there before. Does anyone know if the Cabana's closest to the pool (8A and 8B) are farther to the lobby or closer than Casitas 3&4 in case we don't get the building close to the lobby (9A) . I know that this is a bit of an odd question. We don't mind the walk that we have had previous years, but just don't want a farther walk and it would be nice to try something new.

. . . . I apologize if that didn't make any sense, wasn't sure how else to explain it.:lmao:

I have a question about the room decor at CSR...

The room pics on page 1 of this thread shows a modern room with pastel colors and dark woods. But the pics on Disney's website (and on the DVD I just got) show a rustic looking room with very southwestern themes. Are there two different looks now, or have all rooms been updated to the modern look? And if there are two different styles, which one is which, what do I ask for?

I want to stay here and my DD has agreed (kinda) only if she doesn't have to stay in the "ugly room". Since it's her graduation gift, I of course want her to be happy.

TIA
Judy

My understanding is that all the rooms have been remodelled to look like the one on the first page of the thread. The beds have also been changed to 2 queen size beds.

we were there in oct and all the rooms had been redone
ours had the dark wood and the aqua bedding (the trim stuff not the sheets)
it was very nice we love this resort
even better then AKL

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the rooms at CSR were larger than at POP. Or was that just the king room and not the queen bed rooms being larger than POP?

Judy, ALL of the rooms look like the first page of this FAQ thread. Unfortunately, Disney and the DVD do NOT have the correct photos (I don't know if the DVD was done prior to the rooms being finished). But I can assure you that they no longer have the old decor.

I can't really answer this as we've never stayed at POP. We stayed at the All Star Sports for three nights back in 2000 (worse three nights ever staying at Disney) and I find the CSR rooms to be a tad larger than those rooms. We've never had an issue with the size of the rooms at CSR.
