We had on coats last night and in the pool today it's like 70 plus degrees today yeah.... The cold front comes in tonight. csr great day back to dhs tonight!!

Glad you had good weather today. Glad you are enjoying your stay at CSR. Have fun at DHS tonight. I'll be thinking of you (DH is taking me to dinner tonight for my birthday); ride TOT for me. :)

I requested Cabanas 8A but on my reservation confirmation email, it just says "req 8 A"

but it doesn't specify the building. Are there any other buildings called 8A, or am I safe with no building specification? Just the number?

I don't want to call and be ultra technical if it's not necessary.

Thanks!

It states that you have requested building 8 A because they won't guarantee that you will receive the request. Calling won't change a thing because none of the resorts have direct phone numbers, except for those staying concierge level. All other calls are routed to the call center. This is true even when you're staying at a Disney on site resort.

We've stayed at all of the buildings and have enjoyed each stay.

The buildings are labeled 1-9 (some A or B), so you are correct, there should only be one building 8A throughout the whole resort. Cabanas does not need to be included in the request, building 8A is only found in that section.

Hi! We're going to be heading for CSR in March, thanks to your great thread. The pictures of the renovations look wonderful! I had a question I was hoping someone might be able to answer. Only water view rooms were left when we booked, and I was wondering what those are like and if they tend to be in specific areas of the resort. (I'm not interested in faxing in room requests -- we'll be happy wherever we end up. I even like the look of the Ranchos, which seems like the least popular section on the boards.)

My parents once got a water view at POR. If they craned their head outside their door, they could almost see a quiet pool. So my expectations aren't terribly high.

A water view at the CSR could be a quiet pool, a fountain in the Casitas section or a view of the Lake (which we've had numerous times). Or, it could be like your parents, if you crane your head outside the door, you can almost see a quiet pool or a strip of water.

There are water views in each section at the CSR; we've stayed Casitas seven times and the Cabanas once (we do prefer the Casitas); however, on our next visit we are going to request Ranchos just so that we can say we've stayed in each section (the Ranchos are really very pretty, just very remote).

Thanks! Really appreciate the info. It's our 15th wedding anniversary/Husband finally made it out of grad school trip, so they could stick us over a dumpster and we'd still have a good time. But that lake is awfully pretty....

When we visited last March we stayed in Rancho's 7B in a water view room. We had a view out over the quiet pool, it was a 2-3minute walk to the bust stop (number 4) and it was a lovely picturesque walk over the bridges over the lake to El centro (5-10 minutes depending on who and why we were going there). I did make it to El centro in 2 minutes when we discovered our youngest DD had left her teddy there. (Yes I ran and it wasn't pretty!!:lmao:).

Wherever you stay you will love it!! Just "go with the flow!"

Well I did it. When we were at CSR Dec 12th-20th I booked the bounceback offer for three trips in 2010 (May 1st-9th at PORS for a solo trip, Oct 23rd-31st at CBR with my husband, and Dec 4th-12th at CSR-solo for now, but hope to talk my mom into going). My husband and mom both loved CSR so much, that they've been telling me I should switch all three 2010 reservations over to CSR. I usually don't like to stay at the same resort for consecutive trips and I really like PORS' boat to DTD, but feel their rooms could do with a refurbishment and don't really care for their bus system. Anyway, I just called and switched my May trip from PORS to CSR. I even requested the same areas I stayed in this past Sept and Dec (first floor Cabanas 8A or 9B).:cool1: Anyone else stay in the same resort for multiple trips? Did I make the right decision? I've already changed the countdowns in my signature. lol

One thing that surprised me was how little the price difference was. The first thing the CM said when I asked if I could switch and still keep my bounceback discount, was 'yes, but CSR rooms are just a little more expensive'. I knew that and was expecting about $80.00, but for some reason the final difference between a standard room at PORS and a standard room at CSR was only $29.25 more for the eight nights.:confused3 I thought the price difference was $10.00/night more at CSR? I asked the CM and she verified that I had a standard room at both, and said she didn't understand why the price wasn't a little higher, but that was the price the computer gave her. I decided to go ahead and pay it off, before the price could change.

Hope your bithday was great, Kathy.

Couple questions:
1. When should I fax in my room request?
2. I have to call again to make (more) changes to my ADR's, should I put a room request on my reservation then, as well, or is the fax enough?
3. When will my paperwork come?
4. If we are getting into MCO at 10, how soon can we expect to get to CSR via DME?
5. Any advice as to how DME works?

Thanks so much to all of you...you've made planning this trip much easier! :goodvibes

1. 4-5 days before arrival works well
2. We always do the request & the fax to make sure it's noted
3. About 2-4 weeks out? Not sure

I've only used DME once & I collected my luggage myself, call me crazy. :rolleyes1 Arrived about 1pm, picked up luggage, went to DME line, had absolutely no wait in line, got on DME & we were rolling within 10 minutes at most. The Disney video starts after a few minutes & by the time the video is over you're practically on Disney property. So estimate 1.5-2 hours at the outside.

HTH ~ have a wonderful trip!

We stayed at CSR for our 2008 trip and fell in love. I am trying to book our Thanksgiving trip for 2010 and I can't get a room for our time period. It is driving me crazy. My mother is able to get a king size room but I need a standard room and nothing. :confused3 I hope something opens up soon.

Thanks for helping Tina, Daisy. And thank you for all your help all year on this thread. :)

Way to go, Aubriee! All I'm going to do is :):):):):):):)

Happy New Year to you too MissDaisyinDurham. And also to all of my CSR friends here on the DIS!

KatMark- just wondering how far in advance you have to book a massage. I would love to get one while at CSR but not sure where I will fit it in. Do you need to book it before you arrive?

I've always called about three weeks before our trip when I know that we are having a "resort" day about midway through our trip. Last year, I screwed up and wrote down the wrong day and when I showed up, they couldn't ake me. However, when I rescheduled it for the next day, I was able to get almost any time I wanted. So I don't really think you need to do it far in advance and can probably do it when you arrive. I love having my massage midway through the trip...it refreshes me for the rest of the week.

When I got the email with all the pkg components listed, I noticed that a 'Nikki Bryan spa voucher' is now included. Does anyone know exactly what this is and could it be used at CSR's spa? I don't usually use any of the vouchers that come with the pkgs, so don't remember this one being included in our Dec 12th-20th pkg. Is it something new for 2010?
