Thank you--you too and we'll see you over the weekend. :)

We are on day 4 of our vacation and it has already been filled with some ups & downs!

We arrived Saturday morning around 6am and they told me they would have a room ready for us if we wanted Cabanas 8b instead of Casitas 3. We were planning on spending the day at Typhoon Lagoon anyways so we told them we would wait. We walked around the resort and thought it was beautiful and were immediately impressed with everything we saw and the staff was very friendly.

We headed to Typhoon Lagoon at opening and did the snorkeling with the shark experience and my mom got hurt. At the end there is a huge step (probably 1 1/2 to 2ft) that is in the water with no sign or cast member to help. I got out and waited to help my mom bc I knew she wouldn't be able to do that step coming out of the water with no help. Well as she tried to get out, she busted her leg on the step and fell back into the water hurting her wrist. By the time she came out of the water, her shin had huge knots on it and was black & blue. We got ice but no one around really seemed to be concerned at all and I felt so bad for my mom (she is 51) bc it was all she could do to keep from crying. A guy brought her ice and said if she needed more, to go ask someone. No taking of information or offering to take her to First Aid...I was really upset by the way they acted but that is probably another thread. Anyways, bc of the pain, we head back to CSR bc she could barely walk. We got back to CSR at noon and I asked if we could get into a different room that was ready explaining that she got hurt, etc. and the manager and our cast member worked together quickly to not only get us into a room, but a 3rd floor, waterview in Casitas 3 as well as get my mom a wheel chair to use at the resort and parks as long as she needed it. I was very impressed with their service and concern for her.

Our room is beautiful. Everything was clean and in great condition. Walking around the resort we have only encountered friendly staff and noticed a ton of cast members cleaning keeping the grounds beautiful.

Sunday, in between AK & MK, we got pizzas to-go from Pepper Market and sat in Rix Lounge to eat them (we asked first) while we watched football which was nice. DH loved the pizzas and I thought they were fine for lunch.

While the staff and rooms have been great so far, there have a been a couple things that have left us a little disappointed. When we arrived, there was a convention ending and the next day a new one arriving. The one here now is apparently in the same buildings as us and we have had problems with our neighbors sitting outside of our door being loud, drinking, and smoking. I have called the front desk twice and no one has been up to talk to them. I did say something to them last night asking them nicely to go inside because we were trying to sleep and it was echoing in our room and they did. I called today bc of the smoke smell in our room bc of a few gathered outside of our door smoking and not wanting to deal with them anymore.

DH & I also went to the Dig Site last night for a swim around 11p and were impressed with the pool & grounds but really disappointed with the fact that the conventioners were smoking IN the pool and sitting on the edge as well as jumping in with full dresses and jeans on, cussing, etc. all while a security guard stood no more than 10-15ft feet away watching them.

Our other problem so far was the buses. We have a car but thought we would take the bus to MK on our 2nd day in the afternoon. We got to the bus stop at 3 and got to MK after 4:30. We sat at the bus stop for over 45 min waiting for a bus while there were 3 each DHS, Epcot, and AK buses and 2 DTD & waterpark buses that passed through. Finally after someone else waiting called a bus driver showed up about 5 min later. Very annoying and I doubt we will take the buses again after that.

Now, most of those situations are not CSRs fault with the exception in my opinion of making sure the conventioners are not disrupting others' stays. We asked and the convention is over Thursday so I am just trying to hang in there until then! We are still loving CSR and I am SO glad we chose to stay here! I look foward to coming back after a day in the parks everyday...the beds are heavenly!!!

I am so glad that Mark had a superb outcome!!! It obviously will make for a great trip in 2 days. I can hardly wait to hear your TR from this trip (I've seen you in many others.) :yay:

I understand the CSR part, but what is the 2nd part of your trip? :confused3

Will be reading upon your return (at the new link). :surfweb:

I'll respond more later as I'm leaving for work. GO TO THE FRONT DESK and ask for a manager. There is absolutely NO REASON why you should have to put up with that. Calling doesn't always work. I hate to see your stay at CSR ruined because of this group (truck driving championship group).

Getting so excited for our Grand Gathering at the CSR. We are celebrating my daughter and son in laws 1st wedding anniversary (they had a disney wedding at the boardwalk last Sept. 19th) and a grandaughters b'day and also 1st real disney visit.

Spent last night putting together all the little goodies that will await my 2 grandaughters surprises for each morning at disney. Oldest son did the family vacation t shirts (awsome), now to just get through the next 2 days at work! We will be heading out friday night for disney! Can't wait for our first stay at CSR after hearing how beautiful it is!

See you all at CSR! We check in on Sunday for 7 days of fun!

Sounds like fun and I know what you mean about getting through the last few days of work. It's been a long week.

Maybe we will run into you since we are checking in Monday.

:thumbsup2 What Kathy said. CSR is a great resort, and your stay should not have to be affected by some rude guests. Go to the front desk and get a manager.

Does anybody know what time most conventioners leave the resort? Also, how does registration divide those arriving and those leaving?

There is a conference that ends the day we arrive and we are planning to get there around 8am or so. I know our room probably will not be ready, but I'd like to get all the check in stuff done and then head out to a park. Of course, with the Columbus Day holiday, I suspect a fair number of attendees will stick around for an extra day and leave Monday, leaving me with shorter check in lines (but less room options).

There is a convention arriving the day we leave, but if the calendar is correct, there shouldn't be one while we're there. The one arriving the day we leave, is the PTA of all things - so hopefully I won't notice any ladies jumping into the pool with their dresses on.

I would definitely walk down to the front desk and mention what's been going on. There is absolutely no excuse for adults to be obnoxious like that. :sad2:

Walking to the front desk with a complaint is your fastest way of getting resolution. Please remember that when you call the front desk, even from your room, you're routed to a call center that answers as if they were at the front desk. You don't get anyone actually standing in El Centro. (Ever wonder why you so rarely see a CM at a hotel desk on the phone? That's why!)

Thank you; this is a very good point and one I should have made (but I was dashing for the train).

oooo.....Now I am concerned about the buses. We usually get a rental car but had decided to use the Disney transportation. Now I am not sure after reading this post.:confused3:scared:

I think this is great to know.

After having worked in call centers for a long time (still do) I truly believe that for the most part face to face customer service can seem more sincere.

In this case being that they are physically at the same location as you would probably get their understanding a lot sooner. Where as an individual handling calls for multiple resorts might not be as focused.

This is VERY rare for the CSR. You can, obviously have poor bus service at any resort. Mark and I rent a car and drive everywhere and we have never seen buses overcrowded as we drive by or people waiting long...in fact a bus is usually just pulling up to a stop as we pass it or has just left the stop. Most people report of a 10 minute wait at most (sometimes 15 or 20 if they just missed a bus).

I have a quick question. I have paid for water view, are any of the first floor rooms in the cabanas close enough to the pool area so that my husband and I can sit outside and enjoy each others company after the little ones are asleep. I hate to be cooped up in a hotel room trying not to wake them up, but am really looking forward to spending a little time with my hubby, but do not want to be more than a few feet from the room either. Thanks

I was at CSR in February for the madness that is President's Week and we never had an issue with bus service. It was always quick, regardless of what park we were going to. The great bus service is one of the (many) things I love about CSR, actually. I wouldn't worry.
