I heard that at the food court you are pressured into tipping. Is this true??? Can someone tell me more?

I understand there is a automatic 10% gratuity added to your bill. No matter what. I am not sure if I like this or not. If you get really bad service from the staff you can always voice your complaint & see if they will remove the gratuity.

The servers bring you drinks, explain how things work, and bus the tables. You get your own food. When you are seated, they give you a card which is stamped each time you pick up a food item. They add the 10% gratuity when you pay at the exit.

10% is considered an appropriate tip for a server who only does drinks. I don't know if they will remove it if you are unhappy with the service.

By the way, we found the food at the Pepper Market to be the best of the moderates' food courts, by a significant margin.

We've eaten there a few times. The food is really good and nice selection. The servers were wonderful too. They were very helpful in explaining everything, keeping the drinks refilled, removing plates, etc. One even heard me remark to my husband that something on my plate was tepid and he immediately brought me a new dish and I didn't even ask.

Yes there is an automatic 10% gratuity however I have heard if you are not pleased with the service they will remove the gratuity from your bill. You are also not charged the gratuity if you get your food to go.

We really enjoyed the Pepper Market at CSR. It is different than your average food court but we found the food to be good and the service was fantastic.

I think the food court at CSR is one of the best. You are seated at a clean table - let's face it at some of the other food courts it is every man for himself at some meal times and the tables aren't clean. Also like the fact that you get silverware and not plastic utensils to eat with. Love their selection especially at breakfast when you can get eggs to order without a hassle.

Epcotfan's web page sums it up very nicely. :)

Getting the food to go is no problem, and there are outdoor tables and chairs not far away.

The first night my DH and I were at the CSR we so tired from a long, hot day that we enjoyed sitting down and having a nice meal in the food court. It was after 10 p.m. but the place was pretty busy. The server was friendly and attentive. We felt like we weren't in the middle of a shopping mall food court, which is what some hotel food courts can feel like.

Other times we got the food to go and brought it back to the room for a quick snack.

I feel the food court at CSR is the best. Having eaten in the food courts at All star sports, Caribbean Beach and CSR is definitely the best. (haven't been to PO-don't want to.)
The 10% is not a big deal b/c they take of your drinks and what not, 10% is customary for that and in all honesty, what can you really complain about with regards to drinks? Anytime we just wanted to get food to go they did not add the 10%. Pretty fair and worth it for a better food court. The food is fresher than the ready made cafeteria style CBR and ASSp. :)

POR gives me this feeling at times.

When we stayed at POR 2 years ago, we also felt the same way about the food court. It seemed like I was always in a competition to get a table for our family (me, DH, DD,DS, along with my sister-in-law and in-laws).
