Coronado Springs during Events? (Room Locations?)

We are scheduled to be with a group at Coronado Springs Resort in November. We paid for a package with room, tickets, etc. I put on my registration I'd like to get an extra room for one of the nights but that was overlooked. My daughter's friend is traveling with us until her parents arrive and we really only need one extra room for one night and then she'll go in with her parents.

All that said, it will be easier now for me to just book the extra room independently, but I'm not sure how to go about it. If I book through Disney, do you think I could request the extra room be near the room we got as part of a package? I was wondering if all the "event" people that booked through the event would be together. I don't really mind being apart except for I'd rather not have to haul the luggage a long distance after the first night before we go to the park. Any idea where they usually put the conventioneers or event people so I could request that building?

I put on a convention at all WDW Resorts, and while we’re at CSR they normally try to keep my group close to the convention center.
Since we’re not the largest group there, our attendees are normally in Casitas buildings 3-5 with some in 1 & 2.

We have always had great experiences with making these kinds of requests at CSR.

We have had 2 rooms next door to each other every time we've asked.

We had 4 rooms together when we requested.

Last trip we requested and received 3 rooms together.

Is it too late to book an extra room through the Group? It's probably going to be significantly more expensive to book through Disney, and you probably want the room near the block of event rooms. Otherwise, just request that the rooms be near each other.
