Coronado Pepper Market was HORRIBLE!!!

I unfortuntately ate one dinner here on a trip a week ago (just stayed one night at CSR for a conference), and have to say it was the worst meal I've had at Disney World. I had the pasta alfredo - it was incredibly bland. I had to go around hunting for salt, pepper, red pepper, etc. to add just to give it any tiny bit of flavor at all. The one slice of bread they gave me was dried if not stale (another person I was eating with got bread from a newer loaf that was better though not great). The portions were huge, but I didn't even want to finish it, even though I was still a bit hungry. The desserts looked awfully picked over, also - I didn't even want to chance one.

The other two people eating with me were more neutral on the food (had other dishes), but neither thought it was good.

I didn't find the layout confusing (it was explained pretty well by the person at the front), but I ended up going to get my own drink refills when the waiter disappeared about half way through the meal.

Just 2 months ago I was at WDW for a week, and never had a bad meal in that time. I'm thinking the research I did before that trip really did pay off...

Put us in the disappointed with Pepper Market category. It's the one real drawback to staying at CSR, IMO. We ate there once for breakfast during our CSR stay last August. Food quality paled in comparsion to McDonald's! Everything was pre-prepared and seemed to have been under a heat lamp for hours. The set-up is totally confusing and our waiter could not have been less interested in getting us drinks. I actually had to get up, go over and interrupt his personal conversation with another server in order to get his attention and get some coffee. We let numerous CS meals go to waste rather than spend one more frustrating minute in PM.

Add me to the disappointed list. I thought the concept sounded great, different types of food in one place, everyone gets what they like.

But as others in this thread have pointed out the quality is er, 'uneven', plus the timing can differ quite a bit so some people ate eating while others are waiting.
In another thread I shared my tale of the incredibly rude manager who insisted that we couldn't get breakfast at the stroke of 11 in spite of the fact that that was what each of the stations had and we had to wait 20+ minutes for them to turn it around to lunch. I felt bad for the cooks.

And the worst part was wating on long lines to pay a cashier on the way out (especially when you are on your way to the parks!!). They should at least let you pay your server.

Wow, different strokes for different folks, I guess. Pepper Market is our FAVORITE CS restaurant hands down! It was a little confusing the first time we went there (about 7 years ago), but our server explained things and we did just fine from there. We usually travel at off-peak times and usually eat an early lunch there, so perhaps we've been lucky as far as wait times. And we have no problem at all retrieving our own food as opposed to having it brought to us. Like I said, different strokes for different folks.

I'm with you but no matter how you slice it, it still leads as best food court in the poll. You know how it goes, people are more likely to post about something they dislike than like.

We ate at the PepperMarket at CS tonite and I will NEVER eat there again. The whole set up is extrememly confusing, it is like most of the other resort food courts except that you have to be sat at a table and a "server" gets your drink order. Then you go get your food and you have a ticket that they stamp showing what you got. THe "server" we had tonite was rude and unfriendly, she smakced our drinks down on the table so hard that the soda was spilling out of them. After she set the drinks down and basically threw the tickets at us she walked away. We were left to figure out what to do. The lines were terrible long and by the time I got my food everyone else in my party was finished eating. My food was terrible, I had steak fajitas and the meat was so tough and chewy. I would never eat there again and I definately suggest that no one dine there if they can avoid it!

I didn't really like it either. We were on the dining plan last year, but still, I found it so confusing. Apparently this restaurant isn't owned by Disney....
It reminded me of Europe, because you have to do this stamping thing in Europe too...
Congrats on your Wedding BTW! :flower3:

I never understand the "confusing" comments. You walk in get handed a card (shown below), you take the card to a station and pick a meal, they stamp your card, you eat, pay, and leave. Oh well...:confused3

Absolutely detested this restaurant and two members of our party were ill after eating there. We have been going to Disney for the past 29 years and have been ill after meals there twice, once after eating in PM and once after the Poly Luau. So safe to say that both of those are off our family's list.
