Coronado Fans-PLEASE POST WITH REVIEWS & RECENT PHOTOS!

May I remind you that EVERYONE makes mistakes. I really don't believe your safety was in question. Never have I met a CM with malicious intent to put someone in harm's way. This same exact thing happened to my friend and I at a hotel we stopped at on the way back from WDW. Were we mad because it was 4:00am? Yes. Did we go down to the desk and ask what happened? Yes. Did we end up getting a perfectly fine room? Yes. At a resort we stayed at on Cape Cod, the front desk assistant walked into our room. We were the only people staying in the particular building across the street from the beach. This resort still had actual keys for the doors, no cards! She let herself into our room. What did we do? We laughed. To this day, we have NO CLUE how or why it happened. To tell you the truth, it makes for a pretty funny story. Stuff happens! The thing I don't understand is that you were placed in a room that you "hate" at CSR. Hate is a really strong term to use when I'm pretty sure all of the rooms are the same, aside from the suites :confused3 As far as robbing the room.. of what? h2o products? WDW is a pretty safe place.. which is why we rarely hear of anything bad happening on property. What would a free upgrade have done besides give you a different duvet and wallpaper? So sorry a CM made a mistake and it had to ruin your whole trip.

I agree, story seemed a little more dramatic than it needed to be. Don't see where anyone's safety was compromised.

I totally understand. I see you are going to DL in Nov...We are going to WDW and sailing the Dream in Nov.

Too bad you had such a bad experience here. I had a CM a bad CM at Pop last year. I could just tell she didn't know what she was talking about or that she wanted to help me. She circled where our Room was and our room was no where near that spot. I didn't go back and complain as we only stayed 1 night there anyways.

Yes, decided I needed to visit the Motherland. LOL! I'm reading up on your TR as well. I really don't want to cruise, but I'll definitely read up on yours!

The Coronado experience was hellish. :guilty: and I was so looking forward to staying there. When a manager says, "it is your room, you're registered in it and we have no idea how he got in your room or why he's there" and "I'm calling security now"...yea, my safety was definitely in question.

I can only be grateful, I wasn't in the room at the time when he entered it. Or I didn't have my little goddaughter with me when I tried to get into my room. Can you imagine?!

It did indeed color my view of the resort and the first days of my vacation. After something like this, I will not be staying at Coronado again and yes, I now ask after every check-in, if all the screens were properly completed, so my room doesn't accidentily be given away again. Does this happen often? No, probably less than 1%.

But it did happen to me and it was an awful experience plus having the resort lie to you on top it didn't help. So, until this exact situation happens to you, mayhaps you should have a bit more compassion, especially to a woman traveling alone.

If I do encounter a bad CM, I assume they are having a bad day and try not to take it to heart, it happens rarely-ish. I'm sorry that Pop CM didn't want to you find your room. One would figure they would know the resort really well. I know I got lost at Pop the first time I stayed there. :rotfl:

Will this experience color my view of Disney? No, of course not. Of the other resorts? Nope, not that either. Of any other hotels, etc? Nope. But it is a lesson learned & now will be more careful & will confirm my registration at check-in. :wizard:

I have to agree here. I know that this was a problem, especially since you really liked your room, but I don't see the reason to be so scared and stacking furniture??? If you didn't like your new location you could easily press for another. I agree with EMCCLAY here that this was a mistake and you were NEVER in danger ( the original poster said the people in the room refused to open the door - clearly not jumping out to attack you or laying in wait for you), you were inconvenienced. Disney World is a big place with lots of staff, some trained better than others I"m sure. If you want more one on one attention and a more seasoned staff, you should consider the deluxe resorts. I always say, as many others do, that a bad day at Disney World Resort is better than a great day elsewhere.

We will be there from the 7th to the 16th, our first visit too! :) SO EXCITED! :cool1:

Would love to say hi to a fellow DISer. We should be at the pool on the 7th, 8th and 9th in the evening. We're two families, each with two boys. I'm the blond (ish) yelling at Parker and Carter. Please introduce yourself if you're there.

I think you all are kind of being harsh here. I love Disney just as much as the next person...heck I make my living off of Disney....but there are times when it is less than magical for some.

If I was alone, I think I would've been scared out of my wits too.
BUT also, knowing her, I know she has a very good reason to be scared. A VERY tragic thing has happened to her and her family over the past 2 years and this would've been very scary situation.

Now let's see some more pictures!

I am also having a hard time understanding how your security was compromised. Wasn't the guy in the room, just another guest that was given the same room as you by mistake? When he screamed at you, he was just probably wondering why someone was coming into "his" room. Sounds like they assigned the same room to 2 people. I don't realize why after that was explained to you, it still ruined your vacation. Nothing was stolen from you. If you really "hated" the other room that was then assigned to you, perhaps if you let disney know about your dissatisfaction they would of relocated you.

you quoted my post...may I ask what I said that was "harsh"? I totally agreed that giving away her room was unfortunate and reason to be upset, but the bottom line is, she was given another secure room and none of her luggage was in the original room. I understand you're saying there are extenuating circumstances but her post pointed a finger at the resort staff as having put her at risk, which thankfully, was not the case. I am not looking to hurt the OP in any way but her post was very dramatic about a situation that happens, at Disney and at other heavily booked hotels across the country
