Coronado:busses or drive

We're staying at the CPR May 29-June3.I've heard that the busses are quite good here. I want to be able to leave the car but the kids(including this 47 year old) are always so anxious to get to the parks.Is it much faster if you drive yourself?
Also.if anyone has any tips on making our stay at CSR more enjoyable,BRING 'EM ON!

Definitely quicker to use the bus system. Especially for MK. Buses will drop you at the gate.

We thought the bus system was excellent. We loaded at bus stop #4, so we didn't have to stop throughout the resort. When we returned, we normally got off at #1 and just walked back. Leaving MK after Wishes was a breeze.

The only time we drove was to DTD and then to a tour of SSR. We also drove to MGM on our last day and left from MGM straight back to the airport.

We love CSR, always use the buses and leave the rental car sitting. Never waited more than about 7 minutes...

By far the best bus service we have had on site. I would never even dream of getting in the car until you're ready to go home. Have a great time! You will love this resort!

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

OR

Take the bus instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

We felt that busses from CSR were very good and much faster than driving around the WDW area, paying for parking, unloading the car, walking to the front gate or waiting from the tram.

Out of the resorts we have stayed at..CSR has the best bus transportation. If you ask me CSR and CBR are more centralize that MK deluxe resorts. CSR is closer to AK and MGM and Epcot. It sure doesn't take very long to get there. Of both times we we stayed at CSR, the bus was never full. Maybe that's one of the great advantage of CSR being convention center, most are in the meeting while some families are on vacations. IT is great!!

No, theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

We just happened to be staying in the Cabanas, so #4 was the closest to our room. Never had a problem with a full bus. Plus the busses also unload at each stop too.

We just prefered to get off at El Centro since that was the 1st stop on the way back from the parks. It wasn't that long of a walk back to the Cabanas 8A.

The bus service to MK is great. CSR has the queue closest to the gate. After wishes one nite, our bus had a malfunctioning wheel chair ramp and they had a releif bus there w/in minutes.

It is surprising close to all the parks except for the TL/DTD.

Taking the bus is faster and less stressful-no worry about parking. Just get dropped off! Plus, CSR has a great bus system.

We just got back from CSR last night. When the busses would return from the parks, the first stop was Bus Stop 2, then 3, 4, and finally El Centro (Bus Stop 1). While we did have to wait for busses to show up at CSR, they generally weren't crowded until Friday night about 10:00. We were pretty jam packed and many had to wait for the next bus. Overall, it seemed pretty efficient for an extremely busy time of year.

I thought CSR had the best bus service of all the resorts we have tried so far. We never had to wait long & never had a crowded bus. We were also lucky that when we stayed there, CSR still had a Boardwalk bus. Now THAT was handy!
We were at stop 4 (Cabanas) we used Cabanas & El Centro stop equally.

We were just at Coronado this past weekend. The parks were so busy..we had the car, but opted for the buses. It was definately a time saver.

It didn't take us, maybe 7 minutes to get to MK, if that. From there we went to EPCOT via monorail, very quick of course, then bus from EPCOT back to resort..also very quick.
