Coronado Buses, Full by Cabanas?

I am going to stay at Coronado in December and I was trying to figure where I should preference my room. Cabanas sounds really nice overall but going with a toddler I was concerned how busy the bus is by the time it gets there if heading to the park a little later in the morning. Definitely don't want to be standing.
Is it better to take Casitas to be safe? Thanks for the help.

I can only speak to my experience last June, but yes, several mornings the busses were fairly full by the time we got to the cabanas stop. A few could find seats but most stood. Then they stop at El Centro and squeeze those poor people on. Later in the afternoon when we would head back to the parks it was not an issue. Keep in mind that it will depend on when you head to the parks and what time of year it is.

We spent two weeks at CSR in Aug./Sept. Our room was very close to the Cabanas bus stop so we used the bus a lot to get to El Centro. Sometimes the buses were standing room only. Other times there were seats available.

We've stayed at Coronado a couple of times, and the end of the route bus stop can be full at certain times of the day.

When that became a problem we started catching the bus at the hotel entrance instead, which is earlier on the route. You can walk to any of the other bus stops to solve the problem. However going through the hotel is a good excuse to pick up some coffee or drinks on the way out.

We always stay in the Cabanas, and as PP mentioned there are times we've been fine and times we had to stand, depending on how busy the day was for the park we were going to, but found that if one bus was almost full, another was coming soon after, so you can choose to wait for the next one rather than standing. I think the location of the Cabanas is better overall, for being close to the pool and playground, and a short walk to El Centro. If you choose Casitas, I believe 1-3 are preferred category rooms, so you could request #4 if you are getting a standard room, which is closest to the bus stop. Look at the map on the first page of the Coronado thread on here for reference if you haven't yet. There is other good info. and pics as well there to check out.

We have always requested Casitas 4 for just this reason. It's the first stop to be picked up (bus stop 2), so you always get a seat. Plus, I think it's a pretty quick walk to El Centro from there. I would never suggest waiting for the bus at Bus Stop 1 at El Centro in the morning...always mobbed and bus is always full by the time it gets there .

Have a great trip!

OP, if you are leaving later morning then a lot of the crowd is usually gone. Early morning is when the stops are normally packed. We have stayed at CSR a LOT of times and we like the Cabanas section for convenience, but have stayed in all 3 sections without many problems. But like PP's have mentioned any day could be different. If you really do not want to stand, either stay or walk to one of the early bus stops or just step aside and wait for the next bus. We seem to use the El Centro bus stop the most and yes we had times where we had to stand.

Actually the stop by the main building is the last one picked up. The bus starts at stop #2 which is behind Casitas 4. It then hits Rancheros then Cabanas, then the main building.
