Corkage Fee?

This has come up a few times, and I believe the final answer is that Disney does not allow you to BYOB.

Does anyone know how much the corkage fee is for Disney's table service restaurants?

Usually $10 per bottle. Some restaurants charge more.

I *believe* that Yachtsman was going to charge $20 or $25. I can't recall now but we called the restaurant directly and asked. This was a year ago - they had no problem with us bringing in something but there was a substantial fee. I know it was more than $10 because we would have paid that - I really think it was $25 because I remember thinking that I paid about that for the bottle and it wasn't worth it LOL!

Hmmm...maybe they don't allow you to BYOB into the parks. I'm almost positive when this came up a year or so ago the answer was "no" but it might have been into Epcot.

I've noticed a corkage fee on the wine list at V&A but don't recall the price....maybe $35?

We prefer the wine pairings there anyway. :sunny:

I bet you're right - they don't want people dragging in glass bottles to the parks. I remember reading of someone else bringing their own wine - they were having their wedding rehearsal dinner and brought their fave wine to toast with.

They won't let you bring it in to ANY of the parks. The guys at the security check will require you to take the booze back to your car or throw it away....

Trying to find the answer and looking over a bunch of menus and wine lists from our last trip--but couldn't find it a corkage fee mentioned anywhere.

Thanks guys. I was referring to bringing it to a resort restaurant, not into the parks. We were thinking maybe the Kona Cafe, so maybe I will just call them directly and ask their policy. If they say no, I'll just ask if they can tell me about their wine list so I will know what to expect.

How about a Box of wine?? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I know the poster on these boards named ahhhhh brought a certain bottle of Spanish wine to Cal Grill and they paid a corkage fee, but not sure what it was. But it can be done.

Yes, but not for drinking in the park. Well, you can, but the seller must uncork the bottle for you.

That is a very good point, Horace, I never thought of that!

kaytee-Well, you can always bring a wine key with you. Probabaly a corkscrew, also, since security does not check very well!

Whatever the corkage fee is, call the restaurant ahead of time to discuss what wine you would like to bring in. It is considered bad form to bring a bottle to a restaurant if the wine is already on the restaurant's wine list.

Wow, what a good point. It makes perfect sense, but it would never have occurred to me that the wine that I brought might be something the restaurant already offered. I will remember this for the future! :thumbsup2

Yes I have heard about not bringing wine that is served at the restaurant. Thanks to everyone for your responses!
