Core vs Flex......How is it going?

Hi to all

Just wondering those of you who are trying Core - how is it going and are you happy with the program. What do you like and not like about it?

Thinking about giving it a try and could use some help.

I've been on Flex off and on since the program started, and I've never lost a significant amount of weight. The week before last, I was on the program perfectly with no cheating, and I lost .4 lbs.

I was pretty skeptical of the Core program, because I'm also skeptical of Atkins and South Beach, but I thought I'd try it. I ended up weighing in after only 3 days of Core because of my schedule, and I lost 4.6 lbs! We'll see if Core keeps working-- I'm still skeptical on these types of diets, but I see that Core is lower fat than Atkins or SB, and there's a little more carbs!!

The things I like about Core, though, is that I'm not hungry (I was ALWAYS starving on Flex/Winning Points, no matter whether I ate my activity points or not), I like not having to measure (time saver), and I think it's easier to eat out (no figuring/guessing on points or portions-- just eat Core food only until full!)

On another note, does anyone know how maintenance on Core will work??
 
This is interesting to read. My sister and I are a little nervous to switch to Core since we just started WW. Way to go on the weight loss! That's exciting!

My guess is that you will add healthy fats to your CORE to maintain.

I am brand new to WW. Imagine, 20 years of yo-yo dieting and I never tried WW! My first week was a disaster on Flex. I ate 150 points over my target and gained 1.5 lbs!

So this week I am trying CORE.:o

So far it feels really good.
 
I tried Core this past week and stayed the same atleast no gain.. so I'm going to try fast track again ..I hope to break this cycle ..

How does fast track work? I'm new to WW (subscribe online). They don't seem to promote fast track there.

Just curious:)
 
First week of Core, and I lost 4.8 pounds!

Next week, I lost .6 pounds, but it was TOM.

This is the 3rd week - I'll find out on Sunday how it went.

I love my carbs, so at times it's a little tough, but I save my 35 points for my evening snacks.
 
I just read on the WW board that once you hit goal you start adding flex points for maintenance! That sounds good to me!

I lost 3.5 pounds this week. It worked so much better for me than Flex. I was always hungary on Flex. Plus, I like the "mentality" better. Instead of thinking "how much more can I eat for my points" I think "am I satisfied". This seems much more natural to me.

I lost 1.5 on CORE and am going to keep continuing. Feels funny not counting.

I have to agree with Plutosmyfav that it is a nice change to say, "am I satisfied" if so, stop eating, if not, eat something from the core. I'm eating green olives right now. YUMM. Got some FF cottage cheese for later.

I think the Core is much smarter than SB or Atkins. After 20 yrs of WW how can people think it is a good thing to eat all the bacon and cheese they can? I had a big problem with those plans saying fruit was verbotten.

Lost 3.8 my first week of core after an entire season pass of gaining 8 pounds on the flex where I never wrote down my points. Let's see how it is going in three more weeks!
 
I'm trying CORE starting today. I'll let ya know what happens. I'm nervous as I'm still leery on how CORE works and what's CORE and what isn't. Ugh.

I heard Busch's Veggie Baked beans WERE, then the WEREN'T. I don't know! LOL!!

Oh well, we shall see.

Lost another 2.4 pounds this week using CORE.

Almost 8 pounds in 3 weeks - I'll take it! ::yes::
 
great thread!! I've been too "scared" to try the core plan. I'm doing flex points with success. However I think I will try the core plan next week after my Thursday weigh-in. I guess I better try it before I knock it. At first glance of the core program, I thought it looked too restricting. But I do like that you still get the 35 flex points. Glad to see so many of you have had success with it. I'm more excited to try it out.

I was surprised at our meeting last week when she asked if anyone had tried the new plan, and nobody raised their hands!! Hopefully this week we will hear some good things about it.
 
I've been doing WW for 3 weeks and have lost 5.8 pounds on the Flex plan. I think it helps me writing everything down and having low calorie/WW snacks around. Haven't felt hungry at all so far. Drinking LOTS of water. I think I would go to the Core plan once I get to my goal weight to maintain.
 
Done with week 2 on the core plan. Down more for a total of 5.4 for the two weeks. DH lost too just eating with me at home. I'm loving not having to measure and journal.

At my meeting on Tuesday, it seemed like we were 50/50 core/flex.

Ok

I need help. Tom came to visit and I mentally as well as physically fell off the wagon.

Regained 2 of the 6.5 pounds that I lost. UGH!!:mad: :mad: :( :(

Need to get back on track. Core is so easy yet I went crazy with my eating this week.

HELP!!!!!!!
