We made a reservation for 8PM, but now I realize the land part will be closed. Should we try to go to the worlds instead?

The Coral Reef isn't in the Land. It's in Living Seas. It will be open. They certainly don't take ADRs for times when they'll be closed. I'm not sure what you're worried about. Also, most attractions in FW stay open longer than the 7 pm posted closing time.

Ok. But you're going to eat not take in the attractions, right?

We wanted to do both if we could. We check into Disney this night, and if we can get there before our dinner ressie, we wanted to check out the front area of Epcot.

Is it Future World or World Showcase that will be closed before 8pm? World Showcase often (always?) closes before Future World. I'm not sure what the PP means about "most attractions in FW stay open longer than the 7 pm posted closing time" as I've always found them to close at the time that they said that they would close (which, as I said, it often/always later that World Showcase). Most "rides" are in FW.

You don't give your date, so I cannot double check the times for you, but you will likely be able to get some rides in before your reservation.

Actually Future World always closes earlier than World Showcase. They generally close around 7 (Future World) and World Showcase generally closes around 9 (after Illuminations).

Official park hours can be found here http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...alendarParkHoursMonthlyViewPage&date=20081201

I have no idea what I was thinking then. Maybe I was confused with FW opening before WS.

In any event, sorry OP - please just ignore my post as it is totally unhelpful.

No worries, I figured you just that - you had the two mixed up in your head. (I do it all the time myself)

Future World theoretically closes at 7 but in reality many of the attractions are still open - off the top of my head Mission Space, Soarin, Test Track and Spaceship Earth stay open.

To the OP,
The Living Seas with Nemo and Friends where the Coral Reef Restaurant is located is in Future World. Future World usually closes at 7 PM, but as a PP said many of the Headliner attractions in FW stay open until 9 PM. (Test Track, Soarin, etc.) You certainly can eat at Coral Reef at 8 PM, even though the Pavilion is closed - the restaurant is open.
If you get to Epcot that evening before 7 PM you will be able to enjoy anything in FW. If it is after 7 PM only the few select rides will be open.
As far as changing to a World Showcase restaurant, that is totally up to you. WS is usually open until 9 PM. There are only a few "rides" in WS, but we love exploring the different country pavilions.
Have a Great Trip.

That's ok - you were just applying the Canadian conversion to the park hours, weren't you? ;)

Just to clarify about attractions staying open later in FW than the posted closing time. According to many people, the only attraction that consistently close at 7 pm are Innoventions East and West. Mostly everything else will remain open. There may be a couple of other exceptions in there but not many.
