Coral Reef Restaurant - Diver/menu - Discontinued for 2009

I need another favor from you all. I have unsuccessfully twice tried to email my pictures to Debbi at the CR. Each time Disney sends it back to me as undeliverable. I am replying to an email Debbi sent to me so the address is not the problem. Anyone else have problems getting the pictures to Debbi? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Are your files too large? This is something Debbi warned me about. If they are, just send them to her one at a time, but mark them 1 of 6...2 of 6..etc. She told me the system will kick the e-mail back, veiwing it as spam if this is the case. Hope this helps.

Am I correct thatyou need an ADR before you call and get the diver and menu? And do they give the birthdya person a free ake or do you have to pay for it?
 
You need an ADR because everything is connected to it. I ordered the cake the same time as the diver and menus. It was $12.50 then, but now it has gone up to $21.00.:eek: It was very yummy, moist and flavorful. As far as desserts some on the boards have reported recieving them free. They put the birthday banner onto it for a little extra magic. Hope this helps. Happy planning.:thumbsup2
 
I called and left a message and then sent an email also. I just read on the mickey moms club site that they are not taking any request for the 2009.
Anyone know why?
 

I have heard that it was something they were doing for YOAMD which of course will not continue in 2009.

Does anyone have a picture of their personalized menu? Is it letter or legal size - folded or just one page? black and white or color?

Any idea would be great! Thanks
 
I don't have a picture to post, but it is color and it is smaller than a legal size folded in half - but larger than letter. It is very cute.
 

From what I understand, Debbi wants to be called first then she will instruct you to e-mail photos and wording. Make sure that you call and make your ADR so you can give her the # and reference it on your e-mail once she's contacted you. Good luck!

the problem with that might be the timing of the diver....if you don't get seated close to you ADR time it may mess up the timing for the diver since they only schedule a certain amount.:confused3

I did NOT ask for anything special a few weeks ago as far as seating. They placed us in the first row of booths which was fine I suppose for viewing.
My kids are 3 and 5 and the closer the better for them to to see the diver.

What ended up happening though is after the planning etc, to do the diver, they ended up sending the diver down and we were not even seated yet.

We were literally walking to out table and they had the sign up at the glass and I was freaking out trying to get my camera out and get the girls to look. I was not thrilled about that. I went to Epcot that day mainly so the girls could have the experience. I don't think Epcot appeals so much to little kids so really this was the big thing for that day.
 
i've just emailed debbie, hoping she can help me out at such short notice, we leave in 3 weeks. :scared1:
we've got a 1.50pm ADR, does anyone know if they do the divers at lunch time? :confused3 (although i suppose in the grand scheme of things it doesnt really matter because i'm doing divequest at 5.30 that day, so will be in there myself!!:yay: ) (if anyone cant get a diver for dinner on the 13th november, i'd be happy to give you a wave!! ):wave2:
 
Has there been any word on divers for 2009?


I emailed Debbi about a month ago and she said they were not taking any requests for 2009 and to check back with her in December :confused3 I'm thinking since the theme for the year is Celebration, they would still keep doing the diver and menu. It doesn't give the early 2009ers much time to plan something though.
 
My husband and I dined here for one of our 45th Anniversary dinners this past Sept. I had contacted Debbie in July and she assured me that everything was a go--all we had to do was 'show-up'. We were seated at a table for two right in front of the tank, perfect, but when we were given our menus they were just the regular ones--I had to spoil the surprise for my husband and tell our waitress that we were to have the Personal menus--she seemed annoyed and left to find out where the others were--came back after a long wait and said that there wasn't any record of any Personal menus for us. I asked to speak with a manager and she immediately told me that the manager was in a meeting and could not be disturbed. A few minutes later a very nice man arrived with the Personal menus that I had ordered with Debbi. He told me that they had been 'miss-placed' He then assured me that everything else would go very smoothly--which it did--two divers soon swam up to our table with our sign-saying Happy 45th Anniversary, threw shells for confetti and people in our area stood up and applauded us. Other than the rough start--it was very nice. When we were leaving the restaurant, the gentleman followed us out to apologize and gave us the sign that the divers had. Our waitress did mention that the divers probably will NOT be doing this after December and she wished that they would discontinue the menus as well.
