Coral Reef questions..

I know this restaurant gets regularly reamed in reviews on the DIS. However, we need to try something new every once and a while so....

If we are a large party of 7-8 is even possible to be seated by the tanks? Has anyone ever gone for a late lunch...was it crowded??

Entrees are small so I have read, is this correct??

On mousesavers, Coral reef is listed as a "one credit" table service...I th=ought it was 2??

How was the lobster bisque???

We were there in Nov.2004. We had a late lunch(2:00). The restaurant was busy but not full and we had a table close to the tank. I liked sitting back a little so you can take it all in--it is so massive. Kinda like sitting next to a movie screen. We had terrific food and great service. Portions are small and expensive but the VIEW!!!

We too had always been 'afraid' to try the Coral Reef because of the bad reviews and the seemingly high prices. Since we're at the point where we've done virtually all sit-down restaurants in the parks (and a good portion of the resort restaurants as well) we decided to have lunch at the Coral Reef on Saturday, July 2nd. We figured lunch would be cheaper, plus we would use our DDE card. We also thought having an early ADR would net us a table near the tank which our kids DS10 & DD6 would enjoy.

We actually had a very nice meal. We were indeed seated near the tank and ther kids got to see all the fish. They give you a sheet (or was it on the kids menu?) which has pictures of all the fish and their names so you can check-off the ones you see. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. On the adult menu was a lunch special where you got to choose one appetizer, one entree and a dessert for $19 which was an excellent deal and left us full -- plus we still got our DDE 20% off. All in all an excellent experience.
