Coral Reef questions

CR was our favorite meal of our past trip (August 2007). It was me and my kids first time at the restaurant and it was lovely. DH had not been to Coral Reef in about 20 years so it was new to him as well.

We had a great table, fantastic service and the food was excellent.

Love the blackened catfish and pepper jack cheese grits!!! We were there over the summer and that was one of our favorite meals. DS17 and DD16 have both said that is a must do for every trip! They both had the steak and loved it. DS had the lobster soup and creme' brule with his and DD had the chocolate wave and no appy (She's too picky and prissy for all that food!)... no worries though we ate hers!!

The atmosphere was great and the CMs were very attentive and friendly. We waited about 15 minutes for our ADRs at 7:30. Not too bad consindering it was the summer and packed out!

I hope you enjoy your meal there. Just thinking about it is making me hungry!!!

Coral reef was one of our favourites last year, great food excellent service
defenitley would go back:goodvibes

We had bad service, bad food, and rude people. The place is nice but dont get a seat next to the tank unless you want people crowding over you to get pictures. There was a big turtle that settled down right next to our table and we had 4 or 5 people come right up beside our table to take pictures, I dont mean in the aisle next to the table I'm talking right next to us and even pushing their way between us and the table next to us and getting right up next to the glass. One lady even sat her kid down in the empty chair at our table. I had enough and enough, I asked her if she would want me to come and sit at her table while she was trying to have lunch with her family. She looked at me said "well I just want my kid to see the turtle, besides you guys are not even eating yet". The only thing that kept me from exploding was the fact that there were kids around, including my own and I didnt want to ruin anyones good time. She got the hint and left.

The service was not good at all, the worst we had the whole trip. The guy must have been new because I asked him a few questions about the menu and he had no idea, no problem I understand new people dont know everything but he could have said I'm not sure but I'll check on that for ya instead of "gee I really dont know".

The food was not very good either. I had the cod cake, cold and very bland. The grilled mahi-mahi, again hardly warm at all the glaze seemed like it was just poured over the fish after it was grilled, it was not a glaze on the fish. Teh creme brulee was very good though. My wife had the mixed green salad that she said was good and had a grilled chicken dish that she said was good but a little bland. She had the chocolate wave that was really bad, like an old dried out choc. muffin.

we loved it there! We went for supper and it was close to their closing time (or i guess not seating any more tables) so by the time we got our food it was not busy at all. Loved the food and the drinks! I'm a HUGE turtle person so I was busy watching the tank. It's a place everyone should go at least once! Our food was super good and everyone loved what they had! One of the best meals we had there!:thumbsup2

I was a disney dinning virgin until this past December I made the most of every credit and we went all over "the world" to eat! I had heard horrible reviews about Coral reef however, I took a chance and was expecting NOTHING. It was our first ADR for the trip.
The place was B E A U tiful, the server was very friendly, the view was awesome. The food was very yummy. I felt it was out best meal of the trip;.
The crab legs were crazy good, you didn't even need butter, they had great flavor. I say try it our for yourself!

Thank you!! The crab legs were the main reason we made ADR's for our upcoming trip and because of so many negative reviews I was a little worried.

LOVED the atmosphere! We were seated right by the tank. The divers interacted with my kids the whole time. Watching the turtle was the best!

The lobster bisque was fantastic, so was the Chocolate Wave. My fish was just ok.

We will definitely go back!

we love the CR. We have been there every trip and It is a must do for us. We have never been disappointed. I just started a thread about favorite WDW food and so far the 2 replys have been about the coral reef. Love the chocolate wave.
