So My Step dad just called to book a personalized menu for their reservation in February and the woman said that this was only for the YOAMD and that it ends Dec 31.

Has anyone else run into this?? Do you know what they will do to replace it??

Oh no!! I hope they continue with it!

There has been some talk that the menu/diver service might not be continued into 2009 but there has been no official confirmation. Those asking have been told to check back in December.

There won't necessarily be a replacement. This is currently a free service. It's possible they will either start charging for it or remove it altogether as they are not obligated to offer such a service.

:sad1: I hope they do the diver still. We've never been to Coral Reef, but planned on surprising my in-laws with a dinner there & a sign. Oh well..I guess we'll still enjoy it. ;)

I just recevied an email from Debbie, Manager of the Coral Reef. I had contacted them in November about the possibility of personlized menus and/or a diver sign (for my husband's birthday). She asked me to contact her in December, as they were not yet taking reservations for our January 2009 travel dates.

I emailed her again last night and received this response 3 minutes later.

Evelyn-

Thank you for contacting the Coral Reef Restaurant at Epcot. I apologize, but unfortunately we will not be able to offer the diver signs and personalized menus for 2009. If this should happen to change, I will contact you via e-mail.

Thank you and have a great evening.

It looks like they have done away with another bit of magic. My husband is scheduled to do the DiveQuest dive just before our dinner reservations. I will be interested to see if he is asked to hold a sign....

I'll let you know...

Man...that just bums me out. I was counting on this for our first night in the World too!!!! :sad2:
