I read an off hand comment on another thread about the Coral Reef.

They said that only parties of 4 or smaller get to sit near the tanks. It has always been my dream to sit next to them. I knew it wasn't a guarantee, but to know that it is out of the question is something else. Does anyone know if this is true?

That is correct. The tables next to the tank seat 4. We were able to sit there when my youngest was in a high chair, but now we sit one tier up in the large booth. You still have a great view of the tank, maybe even better since you can see the whole thing.

We also sat up one tier in a booth but had an awesome view with my party of 5, great food too!

We have set in both sections and I actually prefer to be a little further away from the tank. When we sat next to the tank, we were so close that we really couldn't see anything.

Thanks everyone, you have made me feel better.:lovestruc

Yeah, I would NOT want to sit next to the tank (and would probably wait for another table now that I've been there). We sat on the ground level but at a big booth back away from the tank and it was a great view.

The tables smushed against the tank often have small children visiting them in hopes to get a close up (children go up to the glass to see the fish and squish between the tables to see). You also can't see very well because you can only see the fish right in front of you, not the whole tank.

You'll be much happier away from the tank.

I have seen them move a table so that they could sit a party of 5 or 6 at them instead of the booths. I can not recall if I have ever seen this on the tank level, but they sat us (party of 5) that way a few years ago, on the first tier, and I really liked it. We saw them seating that way on our last visit there two weeks ago.

What about parties of two? Do they have tables near the tank?

Also, are there really any bad seats/views in the restaurant?

Any section where you definately dont want to be seated b/c you cant see it at all?
