We have reservations at the Coral Reef for the candle light procession, would the Rose and Crown a better choice???

i never ate at Rose & Crown, but recently ate @ Coral Reef, and I hate to say it but I think Coral Reef gets a pretty bad rep and I'm not too sure why. I thought the steak was really good and I loved my chocolate wave dessert .

I enjoyed the experience and so did everyone in my party, I think me and my aunt were the only 2 who had steak, everyone else had some sort of fish. I know fiance got the salmon b/c thats his fav and his only complaint was that he wanted seconds lol. My uncle and Dad I believe had the Mahi Mahi and they both really enjoyed it.

GL with your decision!

I like both, better food at Coral Reef and better service at Rose and Crown, we always try for Rose and Crown for Illuminations time to get out to the patio and a nice close view so close you can really feel the heat. So check the menus maybe something good will stand out, love the NY Strip at Coral Reef and the desserts. :hippie::cool1::hippie:

Between the two, I would have to say go with Coral Reef. Rose and Crown was good, but Coral Reef is much better. I plan on making a dinner ADR for our trip in May, we haven't been there in a few years, and I know the kids will like to eat with the fish again.

I've eaten at both and liked both. I liked my entree at Rose and Crown a bit more (my dish at Coral Reef - I had a seafood risotto from the appetizer menu made into an entree - was a little too salty, but still good) than my entree at Coral Reef, but both restaurants were very pleasant. I also liked eating outside at Rose and Crown. Coral Reef does get a bad rap on this board - it was nowhere near as bad as I thought. I was nervous going in. My lobster bisque appetizer was delicious and the Chocolate Wave was TDF good. DH had a fish dish, can't remember what, and he loved it. He asked to go back to Coral Reef (we all LOVED the aquarium) in March. We won't be returning because I want to try some other restaurants, but we will go back one day.

I have never eaten at R & C and was not a fan of CR, but I wanted to just chime in and say this...

In 2008 we had a CP package at Le Cellier (latest show). By the time we got out of there, we had 10 minutes to get around the lagoon to the "stage". On very full stomachs, with young kids in tow, we literally jogged the 3/4 mile. I vowed then and there, if I ever did it again, I would choose a restaurant right near the American Gardens Theatre.

Enjoy whatever you choose!
