okay I am debating on where to eat with my kids when we go to Epcot. I want to eat at Le Cellier because I thought the ambiance would be nice but I think Coral Reef would be better fot the kids.....any thoughts? Oh if it helps- the ages of the kids are 2,6 and 9

Coral Reef!! Our kids love it. We got a table right by the tanks and it was so nice!! Our kids still talk about it. Your kids will love it. We went to Le Cellier too and our kids were not very happy about it. There was nothing for them to really look at or do besides color so my vote would be Coral Reef. We like the food better at Le Cellier but the food is also very good at Coral Reef and the kids will LOVE it!!! :thumbsup2

I've only eaten at each place one time, so take it for what it's worth. I thought the food was every bit as good at Coral Reef and the atmosphere blew LeCellier's away for me. I think your kids would definitely enjoy Coral Reef more. We had good service at both places, but a very uncomfortably long wait to be seated at LeC. It was chilly outside, so everyone was crammed into a very inadequate waiting area. I think it may have clouded my whole experience. Of course that can happen anywhere, so :confused3.

I really, really enjoyed Coral Reef, but it will be awhile before I get into the mad dash for a LeCellier reservation again, even though the food was very good.

I haven't been to WDW yet, but I picked Coral Reef. I will let you know how it is when we get back! Le Cellier is going to be a boring restaurant for the kids whereas Coral Reef will be magical for them. We can go to a steak place around here - no need to hit Le Cellier at WDW - but we don't have any restaurants like Coral Reef. We go to the aquarium here once a year and my girls are just mesmerized. We don't go more often because the aquarium is nearly $30 per person! But they love it and talk about it constantly. I can only imagine what Coral Reef will be like for them. I've read mixed reviews of the food, but people's tastes are SO different I figure that we will try Coral Reef and see if we like it. DH and I LOVE fish and seafood type dishes, so Coral Reef's menu is substantially more appealing to us than Le Cellier.

I wasn't really impressed with either on our recent trip, but my vote would be Le Cellier for the food/service and Coral Reef for atmosphere (especially for kids).

With the ages your kids are, I'd definately go with Coral Reef. We've been to both with our kids (now ages 14 and 10) and while they liked them both, they prefer the atmosphere at Coral Reef. They frequently request Coral Reef as a "return to" restaurant where Le Cellier is never on that list. ::MinnieMo

I vote Coral Reef! My kids love it there and we really like the food too. This place gets a lot of bad food reviews but we have NEVER had a bad meal and we have eaten there on the last three visits to WDW. :) Great atmosphere too.
:goodvibes

Here's another vote for Coral Reef. I took my niece last fall (she was 4, almost 5) and she loved it there! We were seated next to the tank and she had a great time looking at the fish & turtles and interacting with the divers.

I would and usually do both, :confused3 and will be going to both next week. To pick one I would say Coral Reef you aren't packed in and the kids will love to see the fish. Me and DW love the NY Strip steak and they have great desserts.:cool2::hippie:

We love the food at Le Cellier, I enjoyed the food at Coral Reef but my husband and the 2 nieces didnt like it at all but the girls loved the huge aquarium

Coral Reef it is!!!! Thanks!!!! My DH wanted to know what the big deal is about Coral Reef... I told him it was like that restuarant from the movie Role Models and he agreed he wants to eat there....I forgot to mention my BIG KID (30) when I made my first post :)

Here is my Opinion. If you kids like steak, go to Le Cellier, the food at Coral Reef is not very good at all, and you may be a long way from the aquariam. Also you could wait up to 45 min. for you table like we did last time. There is one thing that is not advertised much at all at EPCOT/WDW. At the Sea, the largest aquarium in America, I think, is there. It is amazing. Your kids will not want to leave. We have been to Disney four times in the last 3 years and found it by accident on our 3rd trip. There is rarely anyone there, especially at night after dinner. The easiest way to get to it is ride the Nemo/crush ride, and it lets you off at the aquarium. There are dolphins in it that can see you and iteract with you. Amazing.:thumbsup2

We are considering Coral Reef as well. How far away from the aquarium are the "worst" tables. Can you see the fish at all if you end up not near the tank?

If the Nemo ride has a long wait, just turn left at the entrance to the line and walk around to the gift shop side and walk straight thru it to the aquarium. Its amazing how many people don't know you can go in that way.
