Last year, My dbf and I went to coral reef. The food was pretty good but we really liked the atmosphere. I have heard both places are pretty romantic and yummy but im scared to try Le Cellier since we like Coral Reef. Any opinions or thoughts? Thanks

Both are amazing! If you want steak go to Le Cellier. IF you want seafood or pasta go to Coral Reef.

Honestly you can't lose at either place.

We weren't that crazy about Coral Reef. Our dinner went into the "okay" column. Le Cellier, however, has always been outstanding.
Certainly the atmosphere is nicer at CR, as the tables are quite crowded at LC. But, if you're going for the food, LC wins my vote - hands down.

We dined at both this past Sept. We enjoyed LeCellier. The food was very good (cheddar cheese soup is heavenly) and the service was very good. The atmosphere was ok. Our steaks were also very good.
We loved our meal at Coral Reef. The atmosphere was fantastic as was the service. Both our children loved their meals.
DH had the Grilled Mahi Mahi - served with cashew-jasmine rice topped with a spicy pineapple chutney finished with a malibu rum beurre blanc.(from allearsnet) and he absolutely LOVED it.
I had the Grilled New York Strip Steak - served with potatoes au gratin and broccolini. (from allearsnet). I have to say that it was the BEST steak I have ever had. It was melt-in-your-mouth fabulous. Yes, even better than my steak at LeCellier  And as much as I love the Cheddar Cheese soup, I prefer the creamy Lobster soup.
I know I am in the minority, but if I had to choose one over the other I would choose Coral Reef. :fish: :fish:

We love Le Cellier, and always go there when we are at WDW.

We just returned from our trip a few days ago and we did dine at both places. They were both excellent! I have always had great food and service at Le Cellier. CR is another story though. The last two times we went there, it was just so-so. We do enjoy the tanks, but the food and service was not the greatest....that is up until this time. We had a wonderful time! The food was very good, and we had a great server. I ordered the Ahi Tuna, which is new on the menu, and is was out of this world! We really had a nice time at both places.

One difference is that CR can get VERY VERY loud. Each time we have dined there it was LOUD! Le Cellier on the other hand, was not loud at all.

I vote for LeCellier :thumbsup2 every meal has been super!!!

CR is not bad, as long as you dont order steak...that was just awful.

My family does Le Cellier every trip and has yet to have even a mediocre experience there.

We only did Coral Reef once, because I wanted to. I enjoyed my mahi-mahi, but I'm the sole (heh, get it?) fish-eater in the family. Everyone else was disappointed in their meals.

My recommendation: Le Cellier is a must-try.

:rotfl: That's what I like at CR! The strip there is pretty comparable to the strip at LeCellier.

Ha Ha, I got steak too. I dont like seafood. But the place was so pretty. I just cant decide! I may branch out and try Le Cellier, but... i dont know.

Both are very good and I think Coral reef is romantic too.. I think any restaurant can be romantic if you make it :) This is a tough choice, both are my favorites.

I have to tell you though that I had the best flavored steak at the coral reef. It is soooo good!

I've heard positive and negative reviews about both locations. In terms of romance for the two of you, maybe Coral Reef would be preferable (given that you have been there in the past and enjoyed it). Your experience will probably depend more on what you make of it, rather than the atmosphere/food at each restaurant.

Either way, I hope you have a great time! :)

LeCellier, without a doubt. We just got back a few weeks ago and went to CR for the second time--again, a disappointment. I had the steak the first time I went and it was full of gristle. Yuck. You can see the aquarium other places in the building.

Le Cellier because they have better steaks for DH than Coral Reef. We ate at CR 2 weeks ago and it was just eh for DH but I loved my sauteed grouper!

I understand the dilemma. We usually do both because we like the Filet at Le Cellier. CR is a more fun atmosphere. Hearing the kids get excited when a shark or turtle appears. Pretty fun. To be honest, I would just decide what type of steak you want and choose that way.
