I will be going to WDW in July and I am considering have dinner at the Coral Reef Restaurant at The Living Seas in Epcot. I will be dining with Mom, Dad, and Sister.... If any of you have been at this restaurant before can you please let me know a little about it and how good the food is....
Thanks soo much :surfweb:

After much deliberation, after reading mixed reviews on this board I decided to go with CR, Im glad we did dinner was really good and the ambiance was nice and mellow we were seated far from the tank but it was still a nice place, my dinner was pretty good, I had a key lime martini (strongly recommend) lobster soup, good but very heavy, crab cake, was good different from what Im used to, and the chocolate wave dessert is reason enough to go! When CR was a 2TS I would say its not worth it, but as a 1 TS I would give it a shot it was a good choice in my book!

We really like Coral Reef. We are going for lunch on June 27th - can't wait. Taking the kids - they're going to love it. We are going with our friends who dive and we are trying to convince them to do the disney dive thingy while we're there so we can see them. We'll see if they decide to do it.

We had lunch at the CR in December. The ambiance was amazing. The divers were in the water while we dined. :fish:
I had a delicious shrimp cocktail! We had an excellent lunch and the service was quick. The menu is good and the restaurant its self a definite 'have to' IMO. Enjoy.

We went in March (Dh and DD1 and DD3 and Me). We really enjoyed the meal...in fact, it was one of our best meals. The shrimp were huge...and dh and I both ordered steaks that were well-prepared. The chocolate wave was wonderful! Our service was acceptable (not fantastic)...but it wouldn't keep me from returning!

Here's some pix I took at Coral Reef:

I've been considering this one too. Does anyone have food pics they could post? Thanks!

Thanks so much to all of you who have posted a comment. It really helps me out. My DFam and I tend to try a new restaurant every time we go. So Thx for the advice :surfweb:

Thanks for all of the answers. We are going to try CR in January, so I read every thread I can.

Our dinner total about $140 - but with DDE card we will save $28.

Is the key lime martini sweet? I'm more a tradional vodka martini girl, but i do like lime. We are headed to CR for Father's Day Dinner.

We at at Coral Reef about 3 weeks ago. I am so glad we made that ADR. The food was great. I had the Lobster Soup and the Crab Cakes. They were out of this world. We also got seated directly in front of the tank. And to top it all of, Right before we left, Mickey was Scuba Diving in the tank. It was so magical. I will never forget it.

WOW! This is great! This is the first positive thread I have read on CR! I have lunch ADR in Aug and am really looking forward to it.. Has anyone tried the blackened catfish on the pepperjack cheese grits?

Now I understand the restaurant in in the Living Seas Pavillion but where exactly is it? I am ashamed to say Ive never seen it..

We had a late lunch reservation around 2:45pm in April during Spring Break. It was very good and there were only about 5 other tables filled. We got to sit right next to the aquarium - it was awesome. The kids loved it, but it was hard to get us all to eat we were so busy watching the sea life. If you want a really good seat ask for a late lunch or early dinner reservation. Lunch menu is a little more limited than dinner, but still plenty of good choices.

It was around the back, look at your Epcot map when you go to find it and it will lead you straight to it. If you didn't go looking for it you would never stumble over it. Almost looked like we were going down a service path to get to it.

It's down and around the corner from the Living Seas entrance. There are signs to help direct you. But you don't go into the Living Seas.

Thanks so much 1000 haunts, I would have been wandering around the Living Seas Pavillion looking for it..lol

I couldn't get the ADR that I wanted for Le Cellier, so picked CR. I think we will enjoy it. We'll love the theme. The food sounds good. I will definitely be trying the Chocolate Wave! :wave2:
