Okay so I made adrs for our upcoming trip many moons ago and got prime times for Coral Reef and Le Cellier. Then our party expanded by 4 and of course I am unable to add them. The plan is that they can go do their thing while we do ours but I am now wandering if these two restaurants are all that? :confused3

Any and all opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks all!

Personally I like Le Cellier. I think they do fantastic Steaks and the Cheese Soup is to die for. Never been to Coral Reef though

I would have to say YES!!! Definitely worth it... We loved both of these restaurants and are kind of bummed we aren't getting back to Coral Reef this next visit... I say stick them out - I don't think you will be disappointed...

I am of the opinion that you need to try the places yourself. Tons of people hate LTT and Hoop De Doo. I liked LTT and LOVED HDDR. Le Cellier got tons of hype and I thought it was just OK. I think The Coral Reef is a must do at least once. Even tho it is a noisy atmosphere, dining near the tank is worth it!

I just arrived back home from Disney yesterday, of course eating at Le Cellier at one point. Everything people have been saying about the decrease in food quality there is completely wrong. The breads are fantastic, the fillet melted in my mouth, and the chocolate mousse is to die for! Without a doubt keep your reservation - You won't regret it! :thumbsup2

We are back this month too, and did not do canada, but corral reef was fabulous. I was skeptical cause last year i was not impressed, but sis wanted to try again. We went twice. :thumbsup2 and we don't eat seafood.

I agree, everyone has different opionions, but based on this year we had great service, good food, and a lovely room.

These are our favorite 2 restaurants at Disney and both are a "must do's" for us!

That being said, I agree with PP who said you need to try it for yourself and not listen to others. I was so convinced Boma and Kona would be out-of-this-world experiences and I was very disappointed.

But in our family, skipping LeCellier & Coral Reef is not an option! ;)

We ate at both restaurants. We all like Le Cellier better.

Probably because we were seated in the 3rd tier of the restaurant on the left. We could barely see the fish! My DH loves seafood and I am not a big fan of it either. However, we both love steak and the kids had better options for their tastes at Le Cellier also.

I guess I am in the minority, but Coral reef is a never again for us. We have done it twice and really wanted to love it, but the food was just so so and although the tank was cool the rest of the restaurant seemed worn and tired, not to mention dark...kind of reminded me of a casino or nightclub with no windows so you dont know the time of day.
Just my opinion!

We have been to Coral Reef three times, and LeCellier countless times. We love LeCellier, and it is also a must-do for every trip. I have to agree with the previous poster on the Coral Reef. The food was just Ok, and the service, not so good. I still am confused why it took almost 20 minutes to bring us our drinks :confused3 Maybe it was just an off-night when we went all three times.. Anyway, I think you should keep your ADR for both Coral Reef and LeCellier. They are both cool experiences that should be done atleast once, if not more!:)

I really like Le Cellier and Coral Reef. We ate at both places last year and they were wonderful. The NY strip at CR is fantastic and I love the Chocolate Wave. Everything I had at Le Cellier was great. Even though I wanted to try new restaurants on our upcoming trip, I was quick to rebook these two. :thumbsup2

I will try to make it easier for you. Both LC and CR are on our never again list. We did both last September and they were both disappointing.

LC was a complete let down. We were a party of 4 adults and each of us ordered completely different dishes. None of us were thrilled. I got the mushroom filet and it about gagged me. I love mushrooms but something about this dish was off to me. My dessert was the brulee and it was good though. My hubby got a steak (can't remember which one) and it was just okay. He got the chocolate mousse for dessert and we both thought that it tasted gross. It tasted so cheap and blech. I can't remember what my Mom and Aunt ordered but they didn't care for theirs either.

Coral Reef had such good potential. If only the food lived up to the hype. I got crab legs and they were inedible. They split the legs in two pieces and left the meat inside the shell. It was cold and dry by the time it got to me. I am willing to bet that they set them under a heat lamp while waiting for our other plates and that caused them to dry up. Yuck. They would have been good if they hadn't of split them. Crab legs go cold way too fast as it is. Hubby had some kind of fish with the best mashed potatoes ever but the side dish should never have overshadowed the fish. He preferred the potatoes and ended up not finishing his fish. The chocolate wave dessert was blah and I left disappointed.

We may have just had off days on these restaurants. I am happy that we found many other restaurants that we thought were better (Kona Cafe, LTT-lunch, Garden Grille, Teppan Edo, Rose & Crown, etc.).

Actually, "split" crab legs are quite common in nicer restaurants, and that's actually a perk so you don't have to dig in with both hands, cracking away with juice and bits of shell flying everywhere. In the nicer places, the legs are split so all you have to do is stick your fork in and gently pull out the crab.

I hope you send back the dry crab legs and ask them to bring you some that weren't dried out?

I love the Cheese Soup, but no "its not all that" I think the popularity of Le Cellier has really hurt it. Food quality is just so so IMHO. Jiko does a much better steak! I have given it THREE chances in the past year or so and it's now off the list!

Now Coral Reef's food is not dramatically better, but the atmosphere is great!

I've never eaten at either, but I have both booked for our trip in two weeks. I can't wait to try the Chedder Soup @ Le Cellier.

My DH and I ate at Le Cellier twice a couple of weeks ago and it was great both times! We had awesome service and wonderful food. The filet was the best I have had and I asked for it with the mashed potatoes because I don't care for the rice. They were wonderful too. We also had the prime rib and NY strip which were both good. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse, chocolate whiskey cake and the strawberry cheesecake. All wonderful! The cheddar cheese soup was also very good as was the bread.

The 2nd night we were there they were having computer trouble and they were having to do all reservation and hosting duties by hand. They did an excellent job of handling everything and did it without any stress or frustration for the guests.

The only thing I did not like there was the blue glowtini. It was a cool drink but it didn't have much taste. It may have just been that that one missed something.

Overall, we will definitely be back!

Thank you all for your input. After all of your responses, I have decided to keep the adrs. I am not a very adventurous eater and this will be the first trip that we go and eat at only two restaurants that we have been to before. I am thinking outside the box and DH couldn't be happier!

Thanks again all!
:thumbsup2

Just a thought but are you doing Seaworld at all? They have a restaurant called Shark that has the same premise as Coral Reef. Just a thought but you can only make reservations on the day for that and you might all be able to get in there.
