I will be traveling with my niece in March staying offsite. We both stayed on site in October so we both have magic bands. I have an AP, but will be buying a separate ticket for her. Will I be able to copy my FP+ (which I can already make) to her newly linked tickets and will she be able to use her magic band from our last trip?
We did almost exactly this, except with fellow passholders who haven't stayed on campus. They'd booked a trip back in oct or nov but had to cancel, so they had bands, but un-activated ones.
We managed to link their accounts to ours, and all that, but had to wait until after park entry to actually add attractions via a kiosk or cast member. They scan one or both sets of bands (not sure entirely) and pull up the info for each party.
We actually encountered an error both times - once when only one of them showed up in our account ant once with neither. We, however, showed up in their account. The "first line of defense" cast member would get puzzled, attack the kiosk as best they could, then call a manager. The manager fought and fought the system trying all the tricks. One managed to get them times close to ours after overriding a random AK FP that was in their account somehow. The other gave up and wrote them 3 of the "golden ticket" passes that noted they could ride in our time window with us present. Both sets of cast members thanked a a few times for not being angry. And one kid (he couldn't have been over 20) said "people have been telling at me all day."
I felt bad. The system is still a work in progress I understand, but I *wish* they'd alter the system to allow you to book yourself thru
MDE, if you choose, after you've already used the system once through a kiosk. That way newbies could get some 'training' but pros could skip the lines at kiosks.
