Making copies of Hoppers on a copy machine and running them under airport screeners whether in the carry-on or check baggage is harmless to them right? They won't demagnetize or render them inactive will they?

Just want to make sure because I think making copies is a great idea that way there is much less hassle trying to get them replaced in case of loss.

I have made copies of my passes and they have always been in my pocketbook going thru airport security. Have never had a problem.

Not sure if this helps, but the security people have always told me that film upto 1000 speed is ok, so I would assume that hopper passes will be ok.

My passes have been through copy machines and multiple airport scanning devices with nary a problem.

FWIW, the magnetic strip on the back of the passes is very similar to the strip on the back of your credit card or on many state's Drivers' licenses. If the copy machines or xray machines caused problems for them, we'd all know about it! Don't worry. Your passes will be just fine!

Correct me if I am wrong everyone, but I believe Park Passes are treated like cash and if lost not replaceable or refundable.

I do believe AP's are replacement at a charge of $15 or so.

There is no cost to replace an annual pass. We had to have two of ours replaced when we were down in December -- one was accidentally left at home and the other one had simply been misplaced in our hotel room.

Another time when we were down, a friend of ours left one of their 5 passes in a fastpass machine. Of course, it was gone when he went back to look for it. He went to Guest Relations. They asked to see his other 4 passes. They were able to figure out which pass was lost (cancelled it) and replaced it without a problem.

The cast member did say that it was a great idea to keep copies of all the passes, just in case of of them was lost.
