Coppercreek reservation now not available

It’s not a preferred room it’s a standard. Disney would not budge on any accommodations. I booked three nights at Coronado out of pocket, water view. Now i need to contact member services to have my points returned to my account and not put in holding. Feeling better, don’t want to think about any of it till after the trip.

What if you just cease contact with disney right now and don't give them a decision. Sounds like they want to you to cancel the CC reservation instead of them, maybe they move on to the next person if you don't give an answer and in the meantime try to get a cash reservation somewhere just in case

My issue with this, is I remember just a few months back when the glitch happened at VGC, and they started moving people to the hotel side, some people didn't answer/return the call. Two people for sure, that I remember seeing posts from (one on the facebook page, and one on this forum I believe), had their entire reservation cancelled 7 days out because they were out of rooms after others grabbed them.

I don't think that will happen in this case, as there are definitely rooms available at other properties at WDW, but thats not a chance I'd be willing to take, especially since they already mentioned cancelling the reservation in the initial voicemail.

FYI someone posted this same thing on facebook yesterday only their reservation doesn't start until July 22nd.

This is not an emergency room out of inventory but instead an overbooking issue that somehow happened. That person also was offered SSR, tried to push for WL hotel side as it would be open etc etc and was told it's SSR and that's all. I'd be getting a stern note off on this one and talking to a supervisor, although that did the other guest no help, but it is an issue they created and they need to do better in their attempts to resolve it. At a minimum I'd be asking for the SSR 1BR for studio points or probably even to have all points returned and get those nights comped. Truly unacceptable IMO. They also had the inventory issue at VGC and are moving people to the GC hotel side. Oh - and PVB people are being moved to the Poly hotel side during the refurb.

My thoughts exactly. I saw that post yesterday, and there were rooms available cash side at WL when I looked into it. That person fudged their story a bit for sympathy, saying they were downgraded to a studio at SSR (when it turned out, they were offered a 1-bedroom preferred and turned it down), but nonetheless, there were better alternatives for that person as there were cash rooms available at every single Deluxe resort, including the resort they originally booked. DVC is moving VGC guests to cash rooms at GC, and they are moving Poly guests to cash rooms at Poly...no reason they couldn't have accommodated that person with a cash room at WL for the one night they were missing. There is also no reason they should be having this issue at what is now 3 resorts. Someone is seriously dropping the ball at this point, and it's getting ridiculous, that they think it's ok to start calling people 2 weeks before their trips to try and resolve their issue.

Recurring theme in all of these posts i've seen about CCV is that they are all 1-bedrooms being impacted across 3 different sets of dates in July now (first week of July covering the 4th, this one is the 6th-9th, and that one was the 22nd).

Just curious why you opted for the cash stay over the move to the refurbished rooms? Did they over to reimburse the points difference? $100 gift card? I saw those offered to 2 other people as part of the switch.

Someone is beyond asleep at the wheel. The current management at DVC is laughable. They would have been fired from most companies by now.

Received a voicemail mail from member services today. I have a trip planned starting Tuesday and ending with 7-6 thru 7-9 at Copper creek one bedroom. After waiting an hour i was told my reservation is not available however they can accommodate me at a one bedroom at saratoga springs also a one bedroom. I was told my options are switch or cancel and they need an answer.
I didn’t have an answer yet as there is so much to consider. Don’t know how i feel right now mostly shock and disappointment. Hope i come to accept my situation in the morning. So much planning, bummed.

I am curious now...when did you book. I've asked this of a couple people on other forums...recurring theme is they booked last week of April or first week of May in a 1-bedroom. Just wondering if you're the same situation.

I had a two night studio at coppercreek followed by eight nights at a poly studio. Checking what was available just for curiosity a one bedroom at coppercreek came available for the last three nights of my trip. It was in May if i remember correctly. I could not book the three nights because I’m a resale owner and had to borrow points the site would not let me. I booked two of the three nights and has member services assist me for the third night.
Disney to my surprise, told me i have no room at copper creek i could have a standard one bedroom at saratoga and that was all that could be done. I needed to decide if i was canceling that part of my trip or accepting the transfer to saratoga. Canceling would mean no refund on park tickets and maybe having my points go into holding for canceling.
After explaining when i booked three separate reservations i did not know how to allocate my points because I didn’t know which reservation you were gonna take from me. I did not cancel. After i got a promise my points would not be put in holding. My borrowed points would return and my current points can be banked by October.
I book three nights at Coronado Springs remembering the mantra buy where you want to stay. I had a voucher with Davids dvc rentals that will expire April of 2022. Totally separate thread. My family loves Coronado Springs. Was our first trip with my two little girls. They were 3& 7 didn’t fight with each other once truly Disney magic. I’m sure saratoga is wonderful, haven’t been there but i felt i was kind of cornered by Disney, this is the situation your in sorry, but we need to know if your swapping or canceling.

I've never had it happen to me, but can Disney actually do a full cancellation without recourse?

It's one thing to say a couple months out we need to change stuff around, another for a week out to say sorry you have no accommodations. There's flights, reservations, etc to deal with.

And certainly even if they provided alternate accommodations as per our contracts. But if they just straight cancelled the reservation due to overbooking, that seems like it would be grounds for a lawsuit no?

Hotels do it...im not sure where
Disney would fall on the timeshare side of things. I also know they would be extremely sensitive to the media coverage of it, so its likely they wouldnt.

When you book cash reservations via Disney, there is indeed a clause that says this. So, yes it is possible. With DVC, if there is an emergency, and a room...or rooms...get taken out of service...then you have to be moved and in most cases, it may not be the same to what you have booked. I do not believe they are required nor should we expect they have to make compensation for this when that happens.

However, in this case with CCV, these can not be emergencies as guests are not being moved last minute so it certainly sounds like the online system (or the inventory system) allowed for overbookings. IMO, I do think it would be nice...and fair...to offer a guest who is being moved to a different DVC resort with availability some level of compensation as we do pay DVCMC to manage and run the system. Even if it was a token gift card, etc.

If a points guest is being moved and a cash guest isn't, that would be a problem. Cash guests should be moved if the problem wasn't with the DVC website booking.

From what I have seen...a number of the people impacted have said they were offered a $100 gift card. I'm easy to please, and just a happy to be on vacation type, so none of it would have bothered me in July, and would have been happy with the gift card. However, if this were in December, I would have been pretty ticked off.

Here at Disney now, first two nights at a copper creek studio. Because of my later reservation being taken they upgraded my studio. I don’t know what category or type of room it is but, it’s an end room pool view bedroom with two queen beds and a living room with pull out bed.
Room is perfect could not be happier. The magic came through just a little late. Having fun

Maybe you could share a cabin with other people they double booked. j/k
I charge extra for that. (DVC points or doge coin only)

I'm surprised they can't utilize the cash side of WL somehow. But I don't really know what the legal or other ramifications of the situation entail, so I'm sure there's some sort of reason.

This is some of the biggest horse **** I have read here lately. SSR (and I love SSR) trade for a CCV reservation. What on earth is Disney doing here? Good grief. SSR is not a equal trade out.

The problem was that it got overbooked.
DVCMC can’t offer an owner a room if it’s not open and it sounded like SSR was all that was still open for DVC.

Sounds like the resort upgraded them for the nights they were in the studio. I have read some were also offer $100 GC.
