Coppercreek reservation now not available

Received a voicemail mail from member services today. I have a trip planned starting Tuesday and ending with 7-6 thru 7-9 at Copper creek one bedroom. After waiting an hour i was told my reservation is not available however they can accommodate me at a one bedroom at saratoga springs also a one bedroom. I was told my options are switch or cancel and they need an answer.
I didn’t have an answer yet as there is so much to consider. Don’t know how i feel right now mostly shock and disappointment. Hope i come to accept my situation in the morning. So much planning, bummed.
 
I was silly to think it might have been about an upgrade. I booked dining and parks expecting to be at copper creek. Don’t want to be too critical with the whole world being upside down but i feel so rattled.
 

Rooms at Coppercreek were taken out of inventory. Emergency’s do arise. They only have a one bedroom at Saratoga if i decline and cancel my three day reservation my points maybe needed to be used before my year end date. My seven day park tickets can not be reduced to five days, no refunds on tickets. Don’t want to regret whatever i decide but I’m not feeling magical right now.

Why cant they accomodate you at a hotel instead

I asked her about the hotel side at poly, that’s where we own and will be for the first part of our trip. She said they’re not available yet. I didn’t think to ask about hotel stay don’t know if they’re allowed. Did ask about a two bedroom or a treehouse they said no availability. Want to cancel those three days and tell them to keep their ticket money but who wants to explain that to my kids.
 
That’s too much of a downgrade. I’d press for other options, hotel side, if you can live without a 1 bedroom. If one rep won’t work with you try another. Just stay polite, they can only do what the system lets them.
 
Take the SSR one bedroom and ask for compensation. They can give you food money to use at on property restaurants and gift cards to use at Disney Springs.
At this late date, this is probably how I'd handle it too. Let them know how disappointed you are that this happened so late in the game, how you planned around a CC stay, how much time you have wasted on making plans that now may not be realized etc ...... they will compensate you. We had a room issue at Poly a couple years ago, dirty room, food left behind in the fridge, brown water in the one bathroom sink, had to go through the hassle of switching rooms repacking and thus wasting time. We spoke to the manager and we were fairly compensated for our trouble. Despite the bad start we had a great time and loved our Poly stay! Good luck to you!
 
I was dumber than just calling back. I called back and then waited almost an hour and a half. Sounds like the best decision taking the one bedroom at saratoga.

What if you just cease contact with disney right now and don't give them a decision. Sounds like they want to you to cancel the CC reservation instead of them, maybe they move on to the next person if you don't give an answer and in the meantime try to get a cash reservation somewhere just in case

Valid point...you could also tell them you tried to call them back on multiple occasions but no one was available to take your call.

I wouldn't do either of those things unless I was prepared to have problems at check-in and have to deal with people who have no idea what is going on when I got there. And there is no doubt that extensive notes have already been attached to the reservation detailing what has already been offered. Not worth it!

OP - My advice is to take it, perhaps ask for compensation of some kind and then make lemonade out of the situation. Good luck!

FYI someone posted this same thing on facebook yesterday only their reservation doesn't start until July 22nd.

This is not an emergency room out of inventory but instead an overbooking issue that somehow happened. That person also was offered SSR, tried to push for WL hotel side as it would be open etc etc and was told it's SSR and that's all. I'd be getting a stern note off on this one and talking to a supervisor, although that did the other guest no help, but it is an issue they created and they need to do better in their attempts to resolve it. At a minimum I'd be asking for the SSR 1BR for studio points or probably even to have all points returned and get those nights comped. Truly unacceptable IMO. They also had the inventory issue at VGC and are moving people to the GC hotel side. Oh - and PVB people are being moved to the Poly hotel side during the refurb.
