We have never stayed at WL so we are planning a split stay, where we will spend one night there and the other 4 at OKW (not my preference but I was out voted. ho-hum).

So... What is the difference between the CC and BR? Is one a separate building and the other part of the main lodge? I also see that they have new cabins opening? Would love to try one but 87 points for one night is a bit steep, even for a personal hot tub... We are looking at 2br for hubby, me, 2 16 yr olds and 1 14yr old.

opinions and info?

Boulder ridge is the original wilderness lodge villas. It is the separate building next door. CCV is the new DVC resort at the wilderness lodge and was constructed in the main lodge from the old hotel rooms. CCV also has the cabins which do look sooooo nice. The Decore and layout is quite different between the two so look at photos to see which you prefer.

While the points required by a cabin are really a lot, they're not outrageous as the poly and amenities are better (hot tub vs cold puddle, a fireplace, possibly less issues with air conditioning and sewers given if they learnt from previous experience). If I had the points and planning a family trip, I'd strongly consider to upgrade, at least for a few nights. My 215 points wouldn't go very far, though :(

37 pts for a 2 br at CC vs 87 in the cabins... That's huge! Yes, you get the fireplace and the hot tub. But not sure it's worth it. Maybe for the one night. We will see if I can snag it when they begin reservations for it at the end of the month.

We stayed at BRV from 3/27 until 4/6/17. It was only our second stay at BRV/VWL. We decided after taking the tour of the CCV models to buy CCV points. I don't understand why but for some reason DH and I never made an emotional connection to VWL. And it is a beautiful resort. But we do have a strong emotional connection to Wilderness Lodge, and the fact that CCV has one wing of the main lodge made the difference for us. We only purchased 65 points, so staying in a cabin will never happen. Our other points will be saved for other trips--gotta stretch our vacations.

DenLo- somewhere I read that CCV had a 100 point minimum- but it sounds like you did not need that. Was it 50? I was thinking 65 would be perfect.

I will certainly stay at Copper Creek at some point in time, maybe even on a September trip this year, but to me, the decor based on published photographs is less to my liking than Boulder Creek. Of course, that is just personal preference, but I do think it is one of the bigger differences between the 2 properties
