Copper Creek Studios - 11 months out and GONE in less than 3 minutes!!

Today was the opening of my 11 month window for my family's 2020 vacation to WDW and, like a good girl, I was online and ready to go RIGHT at 8am EST. I got my CCV studio, which is awesome but I went back into the booking tool as soon as I was done and by 8:03am EST the studios were already gone for 2/16/20!!! I understand the studios go fast and I got what I wanted but less than 3 minutes was shocking to me.

Not complaining (ok, maybe a little ), I've been on the boards long enough to know that you've got to be a keyboard commando right at 8am to get a studio when your booking window opens. But this was a little more stressful then I anticipated and I'd've been PISSED if I'd gotten on right at 8am and still didn't get my preferred accommodation at my home resort right at the 11 month mark.

Mini-rant over We're back at the World in 2 weeks for our annual family trip and I am SO EXCITED!!

I think a few days ago people were starting to walk for Presidents week. I booked two studios at CCV for earlier in Feb 2020 and didn’t have to book right at 8am (I didn’t book right at 8am because the trip isn’t set in stone and we plan on switching the CCV part of the stay at 7 months so I was somewhat laxidaisical about it).

But I agree that there is a serious studio problem at CCV.

My intention is to move us over to Poly at 7 months so my initial plan hadn't actually been to book at CCV for this trip at all, but I'm paranoid and wanted a Plan B in place.

I am holding out until the 7 month mark to book into a 1 bedroom at AKV Kidani for Marathon Weekend 2020 since I'll be using OTU points, but I'm less worried about that one because it's a 1 bedroom and not a studio.

DVC needs more studios!!

Is Princess marathon at the end of that week? If so I bet that's also playing in to it. But yes, big studio problem for several times of the year at CCV.

Princess Marathon was at the end of the same week this year (ran all 3 races ) so that is likely a factor. It's also a very popular winter-break week and long weekend because of President's Day, so that plays into demand as well.

I expected them to go fast, just not THAT fast. I'm very grateful for my ninja-like computer skills

I just don’t know how anyone can get a studio at CCV during the month of December without having a fixed week or start walking a month ahead!

Studios for race weekends always book quickly, especially for the near park resorts. Not surprised if people are walking for that.

1. The days of dependably easy bookings at DVC are over.
2. It is only going to get worse. It could get much worse.

Currently, high demand times, such as Holidays and Food & Wine, as well as high demand units, such as AKL Value Studios, BLT Standard Studios and CC Studios are booking out very fast. Even being online, right at 8 AM certainly does not guarantee that you will be able to get what you want.

Everyone needs to get better at planning, and learn to plan much farther ahead, as well as planning on some options, in case you can't get what you want.

Yes, that’s the weekend for the Princess Marathon. My daughter and her friends are competing and she asked me to get a 2BR for them at BWV.

I was lucky to get their villa Tuesday for an 7-night stay and I’ve been adding on nights since. As a of today, there were no std. view studios available for the week of 2/16-2/23/20, which means no std. view 2BRs either. I’m glad that she didn’t wait until much later to ask me the book for them.

Yep. It’s Princess. I started a little walk 3 days ago to ensure I get a studio at BCV. Probably not necessary, but I want my home resort for that weekend.
