Cooler in the Parks?

I have a friend going to Disney next week and he asked about bringing a cooler with drinks and food into the park....can you do that? I have never brought food and drinks into the parks so I am not sure of the answer...does anyone do this or know what you can and can't bring in? Thanks!

I know we always bring a soft cooler with drinks in the parks. The cooler is checked, but, security has never said anything. My DW always brings snacks in her backpack also for us and our two boys.

AS long as the cooler is not the big 60 qt size hard plastic version you won;t have a problem.We've used the soft carry version for several years and never had a problem.

Technically, coolers are not permitted. However, Disney will allow small soft coolers that are being carried by hand. I've never seen a wheeled cooler make it past the gates. Wagons are also not allowed (I mention this b/c at my local parks, wagons seem to be the favorite means of transporting coolers.)

The contents of all bags are checked at the gates. No alcohol, nor glass containers (the one exception is jarred baby food) may be carried in.
