Hi

We are off to Typhoon Lagoon - there will be 4 of us. I want to take a wheeled cooler in with us.
I know Disney allow coolers in the water parks but can't seem to find out of wheeled ones are allowed. I have seen people in there with them before but not sure now with all the enhanced security etc. Don't want to get there with it loaded with all the food and find we can't take it in ....
Also anyone know what a good brand is. I know igloo and coleman.

Thanks

I would not use a wheeled cooler. They are not supposed to be in the parks. Trust me on this. We stay offsite and always bring our own food in. We tried a wheeled cooler once. Some CMs let us in, others didn't. Besides, they're a pain. Get a large soft sided cooler and stick it in the seat of an umbrella stroller. MUCH easier.

Strangely, when we went to the water park a couple of weeks ago they didn't check bags or have any security of any sort at all. I found it quite odd. We go to parks bag free but did have a bag at the water park. While I wouldn't dream of taking one to the park, where you'll be walking around all day I would bring one to the water park, where you'll be in one place, or at least most people would be in one place with their stuff.

As long as it fits in the size restrictions in the link above

  • Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high. Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations.

We usually bring a collapsible cooler to TL and rent a locker and put the cooler and all valuables in the locker until we needed it. We find a spot near Crush n Gusher so we're near the locker when we get hungry.

you have to read the next section too. All things that are pulled behind are prohibited.

I'm more than aware. If you can have something wheeled as shown from the list I posted then it goes without saying in some cases pulled is ok too, right? Otherwise, how can it be wheeled? That restriction you mention is for a trailer like object, which a wheeled cooler is not, which is why they allow them based on the item posted above.

Then you can always look at the first list where it says they can allow, or disallow, whatever they want, even if it's allowed.

If you've ever been before you know you have seen tons of wheeled coolers and bags in the parks, not just the water parks but the theme parks.

I mean, I'm not bringing anything in the park, I go without a bag period. So it doesn't affect me. If I was going to bring a bag it would be at a water park. But even then, I'm not going to bother. We buy, not drag stuff in. We fly, so no stuff to bring. I would prefer if they banned all wheeled bags. But until they do, their rules do allow them. Within the size limits. unless they just don't wanna
