Hello everyone. I hope everyone's having an enjoyable weekend.

Quick question on cooler backpacks. Has anyone used one to carry around the parks? When we go in November we're going to have our two daughters, so we're going to need to carry around water, some apples and pretzels for snacks, not including all the other stuff like ponchos, sunscreen, etc. If anyone has any experience with them I'd like to hear.

Thanks so much!

That sound excessive. We had our 5 kids with us in November, and we had one small backpack for all of us. Everyone carried a water bottle, dollar store pin is took up no room, some snacks and sunscreen, and we were good to go.

Not all cooler backpacks are huge.

OP I purchased a cute stylish one at Marshall's or Homesense that's a bit smaller than a standard school backpack. It's interior is lined with the insulation material. Kind of like this one:

We bring a couple of waters, one that's frozen. Some fruit and a couple of dry snacks. One side pouch holds sunscreen and two ponchos. The other side pocket holds a refillable empty water bottle, a small squeezable thing of water flavours like mio and the other two ponchos. Front closed pocket holds my wallet and empty ziplock bags that comes in handy for many things, a few trading pins and a couple of bandages. We get asked about our bag all the time and security always comments on how they can't believe it's insulated and where did I find it. Love at first sight! Lol

I should add I found it more comfortable than when I carried a regular backpack. I think because most cooler backpacks are made to be cushioned and easier to carry. Even my husband never complained lol

That looks awesome! What's the brand name?

We carry water, snacks, including fruit, and sunscreen for most days out and about on weekends (zoos, amusement parks, etc.) and don't bother with a cooler. None of those NEED to be cold. I would just use a regular backpack.

We used this one from Amazon, worked great. Kept things nice and cool, and was a great size.

Who makes this bag. This is what I'm looking for for this summers trip.

I need this bag! Love it, who makes it?

We have the Zuma style from maker Picnic Time. It's sold at Kohls, Target & Amazon.

The top part is not an insulated cooler, it's a mesh type sack, so that's where we store our snacks that don't have to be cold like a little bags of chips or goldfish or pretzels or whatever-- there's plenty of room to put sunblock and any other things that we feel like we need for the day in the top and the bottom is an insulated cooler that has more than enough room to fit drinks and sandwiches if they need to be refrigerated for the five of us.

I will check the brand name for everyone when I get home! I don't recall off the top of my head!!

Did you buy in Canada or the States? Noticed at the bottom your thread Heidi from Canada.

We will going in August, so HOT and HUMID, and rain every day. Would need to hold water, rain ponchos, sunscreen, wallet, resort mugs (will be too tired to go from bus-room to get mug-fill mug-back to room), change of clothes when we do water ride at park encase we get soaked.

I don't know if our resort (All Star Music) refrig will have a freezer.

Would it keep water cool/cold if not frozen?

We purchased a large sized soft sided lunchbox . It holds enough for the park and fits in a compact backpack. It's lightweight. It's perfect. We also put a freezer flat pack chiller in it to keep our wet cloths chilled, our water bottles, and any fruit or snacks that we pack.

We have the Igloo MaxCold backpacks. Love them.

We do NOT keep the jackets etc in them. One person carries the waters etc, and it gets lighter throughout the day if we're doing it right! Another person carries the thin backpack with the jackets etc.

Im from Canada, but have seen the same products in our store as the ones in New York and Michigan.

I searched my bag and can't find a tag or brand name. The bag above is almost identical minus the front pocket (mine fully closes) and mine has stripes. I found that one on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Picnic-Ascot-...d=1465100856&sr=8-15&keywords=Backpack+cooler )

We bring one of those 3-hour cool or hot bags found easily at a grocery store and pack it in a regular bag. They fold up easily and are lightweight. Add in a bottle of frozen water and it is a breeze. Keeps our "lunchable" lunches cool.

we had a small Disney one for a few years it worked very good. then when it got to broken we had to get a bigger one. My husband carries it because its to big for my liking but maybe for wdw trip we will get another smaller one.
